Do you go out every day?

Just that really. I'm not very good at staying at home. I have a child free weekend every other so me and my partner will always go out and about. Coffee shops, walking, shopping etc. Same when the kids are here really.

Chatting to my neighbour yesterday and she commented on the fact that we never sit still 😂. She's a lovely lady but is very much a home bird. Got me wondering if we are quite unusual and that people do tend to spend a lot of time at home pottering around the house...🤔🤔

I go out every day, cafe, lunch, walking, shopping, meeting friends etc.
I don't like staying in, find it quite difficult!

Dazzylazzy · 31/10/2021 07:40

I go out every day. I walk the dogs and have horses. I can’t stay in all day I start to feel unwell.

IsolaPribby · 31/10/2021 07:40

I go out to work Monday to Friday, and generally out for shopping at least one day of the weekend. A whole day at home would be a rare luxury!

GoodnightGrandma · 31/10/2021 07:42

I stay at home if I can, there’s always housework to do and the dog to walk.I find that if I go out for the sake of it I just spend money unnecessarily.

Ikeameatballs · 31/10/2021 07:43

If the weather is truly awful and I’ve no reason to go out then I might stat home all day. Similarly if it’s gorgeous sunshine I might stay in the garden all day. I can’t remember the last I did though!

I'm exactly the same. Plus I love the social side of life. Tbh I don't need to be with anyone else and will happily sit in a coffee shop with a book. My partner is exactly the same as me too. We'll be skint soon!! 😂

Yes this is the only thing. We do spend a lot on being out and about. The odd coffee soon adds up x

No I don't, I get stuck in the house. All my own fault and I need to put that right.

I work from home and tend to do three long days and two shorter ones (short ones being 8 hours).

Just diagnosed with super low Vitamin D which is partly a side effect of medication but obviously not helped by the fact that I work at home, a lot.

I do a hobby that is outside for a few hours twice a week, go to the supermarket, the gym and the office twice a week.

I don't have much of a social life (other than around my hobby).

Single parent, take DC out for a walk or swim and lunch when not at their dad's.

I need to sort myself out and go out for a walk once a day as I don't leave the house on three/four days a week.

Magicalwoodlands · 31/10/2021 07:47

I do but I long for a day of peace at home! I actually have fantasies about it.

operatinginstructions · 31/10/2021 07:47

I don't do coffee shops unless I am travelling away from home never have done.

MusingOnStarlight · 31/10/2021 07:47

I was a real home bird before Covid but now I can’t stand to be at home all day and I love being out and about.

I found this when I started WFH when COVID started. The more I stayed at home the less I could be bothered to go out. It's good to at least go for a quick walk tbh but it's so much easier said than done when your stuck in a rut. I'm the opposite now and actually think I might be going out TOO much...

I used to find it very claustrophobic to stay at home all day when my DC were youn so we would always try to go out, even just a short walk to the shops.
I prefer to go out every day now and the prospect of 10 day isolations feels quite scary to me, but I can and do stay all day at home occassionally.

Siriisatwat · 31/10/2021 07:50

Nope.

I love staying in the house, always have done since I was a child.

There’s nothing wrong with it it it makes you happy.

Veiaola · 31/10/2021 07:52

I stay at home quite a lot, finished work during first lock down, however I go for walks an spend a lot of time outside in my garden. Once a week a may go for a coffee with a friend but not too fussed if I don't. I am probably a bit too comfortable in my own company. I can always find stuff to do at home.

Wish I didn't! Think I'd have much more money. We love coffee shops and already have plans to walk the dog to the coffee shop in the local town this morning. Having said that it's raining loads atm so that might not happen x

I try and get out every day, even if it’s just to walk round the block.

Agree. Each to their own and all that 😁. I think I might try staying in the house a little more x

We go out most days, although this is mostly just us taking a walk or going to the park/ shops, or picking up some lunch.

Sometimes we might go a bit further and make a day/ morning of it. However, this is rarer really.

I do think it’s important to have the occasional ‘lazy day’ where we just potter around the house and ‘rest’.

merrymouse · 31/10/2021 07:56

I think that until recently most people would have left their house every day even if just to buy a paper.

I’m the opposite, used to get twitchy staying home all day but can easily not go out for day now. Only since the second lockdown really.
sandgrown · 31/10/2021 07:57

I still work from an office but at weekends make sure I go out at least to walk the dog . I just can’t stay in especially if the weather is good .

Popsiclestry · 31/10/2021 07:59

I live on a secluded dead end lane and my friend lives near me. She, like me, works from home and she works in a front window.

I must go past her house at least 5 times a day in my car and I always wave at her and I get lots of text saying, "where are you off to now?!"

I just can't stand to be in for longer than a couple of hours. I shop every day for that days food, run errands and have to drop kids off everywhere all the time.

GoodnightGrandma · 31/10/2021 08:00

When the kids were little we’d always go somewhere, but now I don’t really go anywhere.
I’m not sure if it’s the lockdowns we had or my age, but I just can’t really get up the enthusiasm to go anywhere.
In the summer I made the effort to take DS to the lake district, we got stuck on the motorway for an hour, and it’s that sort of thing that makes me not bother.
If I go anywhere I go in the week so there’s less traffic and people.

Inthesameboatatmo · 31/10/2021 08:01

I go out yes but not everyday.
When I have a child free weekend sometimes I like to just stay in and enjoy my own company and recharge my batteries.
