I’ve had some pretty nasty migraines & my c section recovery wasn’t the nicest.

What’s the worst pain you’ve ever been in and how long did it last?

Gallstones were worse than labour & c section. The pain could last minutes or hours and nothing helped till the stone moved

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 03/10/2021 02:17

Gall bladder, hours of the worst pain ever! I passed it according to the GP.

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 03/10/2021 02:17

Gallstones too

eenymeenymineymo · 03/10/2021 02:24

Sciatica ... when it first started happening I didnt know it was that & I couldn't cope with how relentless & painful it was. Then to learn it isn't ever really "fixed" just managed with lifestyle & pain meds.
For me this was worse than labour pains & a gallbladder attack.

YodaiamsaidI · 03/10/2021 02:26

As a one off,c section where they would only give me paracetamol or ibuprofen alternatively and sometimes hours late.
Period pain, horrendous every month for most of the last 33 years, natural childbirth wasn't as bad,so wish they'd give me a hysterectomy.

Justgivemewine · 03/10/2021 02:27

Sciatica

The painof childbirth and pain of a heart attack (not at the same time obvs 😮) pale into insignificance compared to sciatica that left me incapable of movement and on the verge of puking up and passing out.

mamakoukla · 03/10/2021 02:29

Period pain. Hands down worse than labour and lasting much longer than labour.

The most painful? Job loss. Wrenched my insides out for months

Inthetropics · 03/10/2021 02:30

Very serious migraines crysis. Still get them sometimes.

Sunbird24 · 03/10/2021 02:30

Middle ear infection that ruptured my eardrums at the age of 7, can’t remember how long that lasted.

Suspected ruptured ovarian cyst, had me curled up in a ball on the bedroom floor until the ambulance arrived, then writhing in pain all the way to A&E. That lasted about 10 hrs, 2 full bottles of entonox and 2 doses of morphine. Hospital didn’t do any scans as I was in the limbo period between a scan revealing a MMC and the MC actually starting, so they knew it wasn’t ectopic, just sent me home as soon as the pain was under control. My GP and the fertility clinic were both a bit gobsmacked.

Gall bladder, packed with stones and an infection. Sheer agony, thought I was dying.

questionforyouguys · 03/10/2021 02:33

Eye condition, it hurts ALL the time, imagine having an annoying bit of grit in your eye and multiply by 1000. Even when they're closed Sad

TheWashingMachine · 03/10/2021 03:36

Horrendous UTI worse than childbirth

romdowa · 03/10/2021 03:36

Occipital neuralgia and my appendix bursting have to be my top two.

Sciatica for me too. Had to crawl downstairs to the pain meds, could barely move.

Have had physio, keep myself supple with eg yoga and only need painkillers for things like headaches. I would imagine you have tried that route, but if you haven't, worth your time.

Stargazingharbor · 03/10/2021 03:50

When I dislocated my shoulder. Never want to experience that again ever! Seriously would rather go through another 12 hour labour than that again.

SofiaAmes · 03/10/2021 03:59

The first 30 hours of labor with my ds when they (fucking idiots) kept telling me I wasn't actually in labor. And I'm someone who gets all my dental work (including crowns etc.) and skin biopsies done without any anesthetic. My ds is almost 21 and I still have PTSD from the pathetically shoddy medical care I got during labor at St. Mary's in London.

tiggerwhocamefortea · 03/10/2021 04:01

2 ruptured ectopic pregnancies and nearly died twice - I have a high pain threshold but the pain was literally writhing around on the floor pain unable to stand walk or even speak

JufusMum · 03/10/2021 04:05

Gallstones and pancreatitis, at the same time Shock

Alpenguin · 03/10/2021 04:14

Covid. The breathing problems didn’t bother me too much but the pains I felt in my entire body had me screaming out in agony and no painkillers worked. I’ll take giving birth without meds, dry needling tendon inflammation without analgesia or breaking a bone any day over experiencing the pain of covid. Problem is whenever I get run down or a cold Now, i get a very similar nerve pain that doesn’t respond to painkillers

MyMoneyIsAllSpent · 03/10/2021 04:16

Gallstones!

MadamMaltesers · 03/10/2021 04:36

appendicitis

Dontcallmejacqui · 03/10/2021 04:41

I've had, ordered from least pain to most:
Surgery
Broken leg
Tooth abscess
gallstones
Burns
Middle ear infection
Sciatica
And period pain, by far the worst. I used to slip in and out of consciousness and start to hallucinate at its worst. So grateful for menopause

cantrememberagain · 03/10/2021 04:43

@Alpenguin I have the same and have found the curable app a godsend.. I don't work for them.

In my case worse pain endometriosis flares..it feels like someone has filled your insides with barbed wire and poured in some battery acid for good measure.. the wire tightens and pulls and the acid works through your bladder and you pelvic area.. add in a few days of lightning crotch and being ignored by most medical professionals and it's not something I'd wish on my worse enemy.

Saying all of the above my mum suffered with endometriosis her whole life and told me gall stones were the worse.
