I’ve had some pretty nasty migraines & my c section recovery wasn’t the nicest.

What’s the worst pain you’ve ever been in and how long did it last?

Ruptured a disc in my back, followed by back spasms and sciatica. Worse than childbirth.

Easy without a doubt the birth of DD1

Post op after bladder dilation and biopsies. It was extreme and relentless for over a week and painkillers made no difference

With that name, and that answer, I admit, I did think for a minute you were my sister Grin

Stage 4 endometriosis. By the time they realised what a mess my insides were, I was in pain 24/7, having hot baths in the early hours, sometimes twice and taking whatever painkillers I could get my hands on just to try and get the smallest bit of relief.

When I had a missed ectopic and my Fallopian tube burst. Was horrific, I passed out and was apparently very close to death.

This.
I ended up with foot drop and needed decompression/laminectomy surgery which has now caused severe facet joint arthrosis.

I have just got over a Sciatica flare up, I spent most of Saturday night crying in pain, I couldn't walk properly. It isn't just the unrelenting back pain, spasms, pain shooting through your leg but also a burning sensation at the same time.

I've had 3 C sections under GA, I'd take those recoveries over the past weekend, it's only now I can move without crying out.

Was meant to quote post about Sxiatice and ruptured discs*

Kidney stones! Also had gallstones (lucky me) which weren't anywhere near as bad as the kidney stones but still bloody painful! Kidney stones > labour > gallstones for me!

glittereyelash · 04/10/2021 23:33

I had a cluster migraine that lasted a month. It was horrendous.

When I had DVT. I didn't know what it was at the time, but blood forcing it's way through smaller veins was excruciatingly painful.

Timeisavirtue · 04/10/2021 23:43

When I had gastritis 4 years ago. Was worse than child birth. I’ve never felt so bad in my life. I’ll admit I’ve got martyr syndrome and just crack on when I’m ill but I ended up in A&E and was bed bound for 4 days.

@CigarsofthePharoahs

What I was told was costochondritis, but I'm not convinced. I felt like someone had stabbed me in the chest, pulled my ribcage open and was gutting me. I thought I was dying of a heart attack. A&E said costochondritis. I've had several attacks since and they are worse than labour pains. At least with labour it comes in waves and you know why it is happening and you're going to get a squishy baby at the end. This pain was just constant. There was no way to sit or lie that didn't seem to make it worse. The reason I don't think it's costochondritis is that my doctor has now prescribed me omeprazole for reflux and I've had no attacks when I'm on it.
@CigarsofthePharoahs my daughter was told she had costichondritis in a&e. She had a few attacks and was on the floor in agony, even passed out with the pain. Turned out to be gallstones, after we pushed for a scan.

I would ask for a scan to check for gallstones.
