I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

I don't think you would think the same if it were a male being aggressive towards a police officer who was then kicked.

I understand why this line of discussion disgusts you - but we have to be honest that we are giving out mixed messages about women and girls when it comes to policing. On the one hand we are told that they should treat everyone equally, yet on the other hand each and every one of us knows that women are less physically able to be seriously violent to a police officer and so restraining methods perhaps could be different.

If that officer hadn't had it drummed into him that women are exactly the same as men, he might have acted differently and proportionately to what the true risk was. She was being aggressive - but she was most likely not a danger - but somewhere along the line, the police have been told to treat women as much of a danger as men in these situations, so possibly why the response.

In the good old days, police wouldn't tend to view women as any sort of danger in these circumstances. Go identity politics - what a win!

It's clear one poster on here was talking about the first girl and hadn't watched the whole video.

Who knows if they were drunk, maybe they were, maybe they were trying to buy alcohol and were refused?

The first officer I don’t think was unreasonable, she had grabbed his handcuffs, that could have resulted in an injury. She also doesn’t look like a delicate little wallflower. The twat who is filming says the officer was being nice to her until he started filming and then she started acting up because of it, it could have been his spray she grabbed!

They second girl should not have tried to grab her friend, I’d be so bloody embarrassed if these were my daughters.

However the second male officer should have taken her legs from her with a swoop, if he felt it was needed, not kicked her.

It is. I would expect to be kicked like that if I was in the same situation, sobered up and rewatched it. I'd think "fair enough".

When I was in America many moons ago, I got pulled over by a cop, being cheery and english, I got out of my car to greet him half way and ask how I could help him.
He quickly withdrew his side arm and screamed at me to get my face down on the tarmac or 'He'd shoot me in the face'
I immediately complied.
You don't mess with the police I believe the girl physically needed to be removed from the arresting officers space and pushing or pulling her away wasn't enough.

I would put money on nothing coming from the investigation. They will say it was justified.

Can't say I'd be proud of my daughters behaving like that to police officers!

The bottom line is that police officer absolutely will have received training in how to remove that girl from his colleagues with several methods that are designed to reduce risk of injury to both the girl and himself. He will have practised these methods repeatedly with his colleagues. He will have been assessed on his competence at carrying out these methods. He will also have been assessed on his ability to correctly assess a situation and on his IQ to ensure he has the mental competence to put all his training into place at the appropriate times. Those methods absolutely will not have involved fly kicking.
