Policeman kicks 15 year old girl in the stomach

GreekTragedy · 01/10/2021 09:58

I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

I can’t believe I’m reading people saying he did the right thing!!

She’s a tiny girl, who yes was drunk, but hardly a big burly bloke able to knock you out with one punch

knittingaddict · 01/10/2021 11:15

@MrsRobbieHart

He clearly lashed out in anger.

Or joy! Some people love a chance to stick the boot into someone, anyone, whoever is nearest.

That's true too.
Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:15

@porfre she was resisting handcuffs

And it was not the girl resisting handcuffs that got for kicked in the stomach

A 15 year old girl, shame on you. Disgusting

Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:16

This needs to be shared, we all know the police like to cover up the twisted violence of some of their members.

hamstersarse · 01/10/2021 11:16

@MrsRobbieHart

It is a partnership and people should be taught not to resist arrest.

Resisting arrest by a lone police officer is now being advised.

I don't think that is a fair reflection of what is being said
MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 01/10/2021 11:17

Have you seen the full video where both girls were attacking one officer and he was trying for a good few minutes to not use force.
And he didnt kick her in the stomach, he kicked her legs from under her. The sooner people like this learn play stupid games you'll win stupid prizes the better. Hopefully she learned a life lesson that day although I doubt it.

peboh · 01/10/2021 11:17

She was trying to hit another police officer on the head, and trying to help someone who was resisting arrest.
I don't agree with him kicking her, however I can understand his urgency to remove her from that situation.

Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:18

He was kneeling on her belly

Admittedly dealing with an annoying drunk girl wouldn’t be fun but surely men who can’t control their temper with women should not be police officers

Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:19

@peboh

Give over, she was pulling her friends hand and trying to pull them away from her - how you can excuse this is foul.

It is the other girl that gets kicked when back up arrives fyi

It's not so straightforward. This is clearly a police officer. They clearly have done something wrong. Resisting arrest just isn't a good thing to do in this circumstance.

I do think the arriving officer was too heavy handed, but I do try and show some empathy with people who are in the police in that they are constantly entering situations which can be deadly, where their lives are put on the line, and so they radar is tuned to be extremely sensitive. Again, why grabbing and screaming at a police officer trying to make an arrest just isn't advisable.

Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:20

@MobyDicksTinyCanoe

He fly kicked her at the side of her waist

Inexcusable

No. There is a bit later, another police officer who comes out and kicks the girl in the belly.

Not the girl who is already on the floor, but her friend

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 11:21

What is a fair reflection of what is being said? Or even, what is actually being said.

(Personally I’ll be resisting arrest from any lone male officer should the circumstances ever arise)

Leibham · 01/10/2021 11:21

They were underage at a pub

Hardly a life threatening situation

Sad to see women condone violence on women

I'm not excusing his behaviour, and I absolutely agree that more training needs to be given to control these situations.
However I have watched the full video several times, she was absolutely going to hit the other police officer. That also isn't excusable. Helping somebody resist arrest also isn't excusable.

Porfre · 01/10/2021 11:23

@MrsRobbieHart

The police are looking after us all from people like her.

😂😂😂😂

Yes, the policeman had no choice but to kick the very dangerous small, wobbly, drunk 15 year old girl to the ground. He really has saved lives with that move. Hmm

Or if you turn it around. A figure who could have a weapon or not attacking the head of his colleague. If she had a knife and was slashing at his head, people would be saying why didnt the officer do something straight away to stop the attacker. You only know it's a drunk weak girl because you saw the video from the start. All he saw was a figure who may or may not have had a weapon attacking the head of his colleague.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing.

hamstersarse · 01/10/2021 11:23

There is a vibe for many after the whole Defund the Police type of protests that it is a good idea to resist arrest, I think that is clear for all to see.

This escalates situations like this massively.

I am not defending the actions of the police officer necessarily, but we all play a role in these interactions - those being questioned/arrested by the police and the police themselves.

Uncurtailed · 01/10/2021 11:23

That force was fully justified.

The video shows repeated assault by the 15 year old on the officer on the ground. The arriving officer used a perfectly proportionate technique to end that conflict quickly, easily and with minor injury. Had they used batons or pepper spray, it would have been far worse. He made a good snap decision.

I think the question we should be asking is why the teenagers feel it's acceptable to assault police officers? I certain don't expect police to allow themselves to be assaulted by anyone - regardless of sex or age.

At what point did she try to hit him on the head? All I saw was her trying to pull the first officers arm away from her friend. She wasn't even being particularly aggressive about that either.

I don't think you can use this argument here. The women involved were being violent and abusive.
MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 11:24

Blatant lie.

Exactly, if you rewatch it is her thigh he kicks not her tummy.

There is a video of a lone police officer pulling over a car and the guy who was driving acts all cool and calm until the officer says he is going to be searched and asked if he has any weapons or drugs on him. The guy says no and then proceeds to run to escape.
Just as this happens the backup police arrive, an officer jumps out the car and kicks his leg out which takes down the escapee.

I understand people are going to be on edge after all that's happened and it's clear something needs to change but at the same time, you can't use every single video of a police officer doing their job as a "look! More women being abused!" type thing when there's really nothing more than them doing their job.

Nope. Watch it properly.
