I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

@Porfre

Why was she attacking a Police Officer. It's not an excuse. But if she hadnt done this she wouldn't have been attacked
Come on seriously! She was trying to pull a cop off her friend, rightly or wrongly. She wasn’t throwing punches and kicks or attacking him then them with a weapon. The amount of forced used on her was completely out of order. He could have calmly got between her and the others without kicking her and knocking her to the ground. Plenty of cops do it every day.
ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 18:08

Cowardice then?

Wow. I'm off to start dinner.

Oh but you still haven’t said about the kicking training you get! That’s weird!
GiddyNorthernBird · 02/10/2021 18:31

ILoveJamaica won’t answer specific questions, which is very telling indeed. And I don’t believe that’s the worst they’ve seen whilst working in the police force.

Certainly very reluctant to talk about that kicking training they get.
DameFanny · 02/10/2021 18:40

@ILoveJamaica

All this froth about kicking - try to imagine a situation more dangerous than this. Let's say, a criminal is racing towards your colleague with a machete. You can kick his legs out from under him, or watch him butcher your colleague. What do you think you would do? Of course kicking has it's place. You could be fighting for your life, and you often are.
Disingenuous whatabouttery bollocks. If you are a serving officer you a disgrace to a force already in disgrace.
SpindleWhirl · 02/10/2021 18:48

ILoveJamaica is as much of a serving or former police officer as I am a newt. Or possibly a toad.

Alcemeg · 02/10/2021 19:35

I find the kicking some posters like @ILoveJamaica are getting here pretty abhorrent, TBH 🤨

MrsRobbieHart · 02/10/2021 19:37

@ILoveJamaica

I'd be interested to hear what you would do, in order to get a 15 year old bully off your child? What if you knew they could have a knife in the hidden hand? Would you ask them nicely or kick them off?
If I was a trained police officer I’d very probably use one of the methods I’d been trained in, which you confirmed yesterday, would not include fly kicking. Because those are the methods developed and approved to reduce risk of injury to either the officer or the person they’re engaging. And because I’m not an asshole with an interest in hurting 15 year olds, that would be my aim.

Naw, sure kickings fine. Isn’t it?
Pumperthepumper · 02/10/2021 19:40

@ILoveJamaica

Is kicking in Police training?

Yes.

@ILoveJamaica said they were trained in kicking.
MrsRobbieHart · 02/10/2021 19:43

@ILoveJamaica

Perhaps imagine that the female officer is your daughter? She is being grappled by the girl, and we can't see if there is a weapon. You would want that person off your daughter as soon as humanly possible. You wouldn't care whether they were 15 or 18 - just get them off ASAP.
But it’s not his daughter, it’s his colleague, who he has been trained very well in how to protect. Why did he not use his training? Why don’t you think police officers should use their training? Is the training insufficient?
MrsRobbieHart · 02/10/2021 19:44

@ILoveJamaica said they were trained in kicking

Yesterday when I asked her if she was fly kicking was part of her training, she said no.

Oh that’s weird then. Maybe it’s specific types of kicking that doesn’t include fly kicking?

MrsRobbieHart · 02/10/2021 19:47

Must be. They’re certainly not trained in kicking sexual predators out of the force. Wont hold my breath to find out if they’re trained in kicking child abusers out…

LucilleBluth · 02/10/2021 20:01

I’m late to this thread but I do restrain teenagers in my job, I’m a 5ft 4, ten stone female. We are trained to use techniques that work with body’s natural movement, we don’t hurt, ever.

There are effective physical management moves and that video isn’t an example of them. He’s well out of order.

chaosrabbitland · 02/10/2021 20:42

@DameFanny

So now we have not just police-apologists, desperate to find reasons why kicking a child in the stomach against all training is ok, but a poster suggesting we bring back hanging and flogging to reduce littering on the street.

Disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Raise your standards, find your humanity.

if you had read my post properly instead of just interpreting and twisting my words to suit your own little agenda , you will know that i was refering to singapore and not its pretty obvious that the hanging and flogging they have as punisments in their system is not for littering duh

i think if you want to live a a pretty crime free country like singapore where most if not all its citizens feel truely safe its you who need to raise your standards , but no you carry on finding your humanity , where you like our police to be pussies when it comes to criminals and whinging on about police brutality when in most other countries this police officer would have been using reasonable force and carry on supporting our pathetically weak criminal justice system where you can fucking glass somebody over the head and walk away with a slap on the wrist and then dont fucking moan about how unsafe you bloody feel about doing this and that , i dont need to find my humantiy thanks iv already got it , id like criminals that hurt others to find theirs and failing that a justice system that actually deals with them properly

this country is nothing short of a cesspit and with criminal apologists like you is likely to remain so

DameFanny · 03/10/2021 00:47

Reported your misogynist language @chaosrabbitland. Maybe this isn't the place to be using 'pussy' as an insult?

yes whatever , i wouldnt have thought mumsnet was the place to be using cunt as an insult ,but its routinely used as one on this site ,and i dont see it being reported , but still hopefully you will be reporting every post you see with it from now on lol , interesting thats the only reply you have ,though the truth hurts i guess
LucilleBluth · 03/10/2021 11:49

What would happen if you kicked one of them?

I would be sacked and the police informed…oh the irony.

Yes, same in my job. Irony indeed!
DameFanny · 03/10/2021 13:33

Not truth, reactive mindless wittering not worth my time to respond to @chaosrabbitland

Pumperthepumper · 03/10/2021 17:16

Never got an answer to the kicking training thing, sad.
