Policeman kicks 15 year old girl in the stomach

GreekTragedy · 01/10/2021 09:58

I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

@Pumperthepumper why don't you volunteer as a Special Constable with your local force, and see what this kind of situation feels like in real life? Instead of just guessing and speculating on a tiny bit of film that has no context.

I’m seriously thinking about joining the police. They seem to have much more relaxed rules to what the can do to people, unlike my job, if I was abusive in the police it’s likely my colleagues would cover for me, unlike my job, and my pension is shit.

Quite telling you ignored my post about attitudes like yours causing more deaths. Because you can’t argue with it.

Fangdango · 02/10/2021 16:10

@GiddyNorthernBird

I wouldn’t call that calming things down. It was an act of violence plain and simple. The girl wasn’t a major threat. He could have retrained her without resorting to violence. Okay, maybe ‘repeatedly asking the girls’ to go home didn’t work, why didn’t he use other methods to restrain her? Why come in with a flying a kick? He could have seriously injured her and just because he hasn’t, although I’m not sure on this as don’t think it’s been reported either way, that doesn’t mean what he did was okay or justified. It wasn’t and he knows this. He had no choice but to self refer his conduct for review as thankfully his thuggish behaviour was caught on camera.
If he didn't think she was an immediate threat to the others - not justified

If he did, of course it could be justified.

Why should he have assumed she wasn't a danger to the policewoman she was attacking?

I thought it was a disgusting comment tbh. From someone who literally knows nothing about policing.

Why?

@ILoveJamaica

Anyone with common sense let alone policing experience could see this situation for what it was.

Anyone with policing experience condoning this is embarrassing to the Police.

ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 16:16

LOL. The Police force I worked for, investigated every single complaint that came in, even if it was from Jimmy the violent junkie, known for lying and stealing and beating up his Partner, and who doesn't even know what year it is. You certainly did not feel as though anyone had your back.

I'll argue with it. Use of proportionate force to defend others is legal and acceptable. Stating that does not "cause more deaths". Scrutiny of force used is a good thing. Blaming @ILoveJamaica for women's deaths at the hands of police or anyone else isn't reasonable at all.

Leibham · 02/10/2021 16:22

@ILoveJamaica

Erm you might want to read about what’s going on in the news. Tone deaf.

No, why isn’t @ILoveJamaica - and you, of course - instead of arguing it’s perfectly reasonable for a police officer to kick a fifteen year old, absolutely fucking raging that this is the standard accepted of our police force? Why are you not absolutely furious like men like this wear a uniform? Why are you not apoplectic that WC’s colleagues covered for him?

Still, I’d be able to kick a fifteen year old and people would tell me that was absolutely fine.
Leibham · 02/10/2021 16:24

@Pumperthepumper

The mind boggles at these ignorant arguments and people. This is why we have police who shared racist and sexist horrific content with WC still working. Due to apologists like these who excuse blatant violence against children.

ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 16:27

That's not what this thread is about.

ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 16:30

blatant violence against children

Children who are wild and attacking an Officer. Polly-Anna, she is not. I daresay she could kick your ass and mine too. Stop going on like she's a little girl.

I guess all of the teenagers who fatally stab others should also be treated with kid gloves, because, you know, they are only children

fuckoffImcounting · 02/10/2021 16:31

This is a child getting kicked in the stomach by a grown man. Astonishing how many women on here are defending him. If anyone had kicked my child like that I would pursue him to the gates of hell.

No? Not about the incredibly low standards we have for our pathetic police force?

It’s not use of proportionate force when he could have and should have used other methods first. The girls’ posed no major threat.

ILoveJamaica seems to avoid questions directed at them Hmm

ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 16:36

The girls’ posed no major threat

I haven't got a big enough LOL emoji for this comment.

RJnomore1 · 02/10/2021 16:38

I’ve watched the whole video.

The only one who does nothing wrong is the female police officer. The reason I say that is she sees a colleague struggling to restrain a girl and does not instigate any violence whatsoever.

If this is the way the police deal with underage drinkers these days they are not fit for purpose in any way shape or form.

Except she didn’t kick anyone’s ass and it seemed like she no intention to do so either. She was grappling with the Officers to get them off of her friend.

Also, why do you keep coming up with scenarios that are in no way comparable to this case? Does that make you feel justified in your responses to this case?

Fangdango · 02/10/2021 16:38

Nobody gets kicked in the stomach in this video.

Nobody is defending random kicking on this thread - just accepting that there may have been a need to act fast while a policewoman was under attack.

Nobody on this thread has justified the Met's dealings with WC and associated officers, and nobody here has a monopoly on grief and rage about Sarah Everard's killing.

Nobody deserves to be demonised because they draw different conclusions about the sequence of events in this video than others do.

ILoveJamaica · 02/10/2021 16:40

And no repercussions for your adult sized child for attacking a Police Officer? This is part of the problem, imo. Kids are running wild and parents are making excuses for them.

WormYourHonour · 02/10/2021 16:41

Adult size.

Adult on left, child on right...
Is that a lack of size difference?

LuaDipa · 02/10/2021 16:43

@Porfre

She doesnt have a sticker on her that days her age. From the footage you cant tell how old she is. And you dont know what the Offocer who kicked her saw. Literally before she was kicked she was attacking the other Police Officer's head. If I was her parent I'd be ashamed at how my child behaved and be down on them like a ton of bricks to make sure nothing like this happened again.

Shes lucky she in the UK if you call that Police brutality.

I would be far more ashamed if that brutal, violent, aggressive excuse of a Police Officer was my son.
