@Sarantfc so sorry to hear this. I am currently awaiting to hear back from a mandatory reconsideration.
You will need to request a statement of reasons which outlines why they declined in full. Then you can write back with your reasons why you disagree and provide further supporting evidence.

Try this guide and good luck.

@Sirzy am I able to send in other information with that? Like a letter from the consultant & ask his pre school to do one? As tbf they only filled in the little box before.

Sarantfc · 22/09/2021 10:22

@Nmhx she read them out over the phone & the decision maker believes that he is of a typical developing 4 year old which I know that isn’t the case.
Thank you! I’m going to get a copy of his letter from consultant & ask the nursery to do a long letter outlining all his needs and extra care he has there.

@Mummyof3boz as upsetting as it is I’m glad I know now. Good luck with yours x

Nmhx · 22/09/2021 11:01

@Sarantfc you can supply as much supporting evidence as you wish for a MR but I would 100% suggest writing a letter with it saying you’re supplying further evidence for the MR and outline why you disagree with the reasons stated for the rejections.
I bullet pointed the reasons and put why I disagreed.
For example one of the reasons for my son being rejected was “you said DS is prone to running off when mobilising outside the home and can come to harm, however no evidence supplied by means of a hospital discharge letter outlining injury”
I had replied directly to that saying I was aware of how to safeguard my child whilst walking outside the home, no harm has come to him as I have kept him safe. Since the last time he broke lose and ran off into the road I have kept him restrained - not typical of a 3 year old.

I hope that helps.

@Sarantfc ..my heart breaks for you cos i know it’s gut wrenching to say the least ..keep at it defo do the MR ..I did one with both of my children and they went from nothing straight to high care so do not let them put you off ..take it all in , deep breath fresh day then smash owt the MR..wishing you good luck x

Mumoflewbielew · 22/09/2021 11:08

@Sarantfc I feel for you 😣 im expecting the same decision too 😕 i had no evidence to send with mine. Didnt even get anyone to fill the box in.

Nmhx · 22/09/2021 11:28

@Mumoflewbielew I didn’t have any evidence to supply and my sons was rejected because I did not supply evidence. Hopefully yours does t go the same way. I feel like I’m straight back to square one waiting for them to look over everything again.
I had written my son was awaiting paediatrician appointment and they said I sent no supporting letter from paediatrician — 😩 like wth?!

I very eloquently outlined the extra care he needed but that for them wasn’t enough 🤷🏼‍♀️ I commented on that in the MR accompanying letter I sent also.

Mumoflewbielew · 22/09/2021 11:38

@Nmhx I tood them I'm waiting for him to be assessed and diagnosed.. i sent a copy of an email i received from small steps saying they are finally ready for more infor from school and myself. We have been waiting years and nothing is happening for him. My son is on The special educational needs register amd has been since primary school.not surr if that will help our case or not if they contact school. I know ill end up doing a MR 🙄

Nmhx · 22/09/2021 11:43

@Mumoflewbielew hopefully not. 🤞🏼

Mummyof3boz · 22/09/2021 12:13

I’ve received Lucas medication review appointment is it worth phoning up and letting them know?

Sarantfc · 22/09/2021 12:31

Thank you all so much ladies you’ve made me realise after being so upset I will fight for my boy. These people don’t know him nor do they know the care I need to give him daily. I’m going to fight this with all I have. I found the letter from the consultant that outlines his difficulties at nursery and that he has referred us to the CDC for assessment. I will also be asking nursery for a more in-depth letter because what they wrote to the consultant is completely different to what they put to DLA..

Wishing everyone the best in getting the correct decision for your little ones. ❤️

@Hannm123 mines 26th, just got off the phone. First she said the claim hasn't been looked at yet but then she called straight back and said it actually has been looked at and awarded. No mobility because of her age, but we got high rate care.
