@Boof23 true,I should imagine decision should be made today or over the weekend you should ring and see if they have made a decision fingers crossed x

Boof23 · 05/11/2021 17:25

@jneill2021 no decision as of yet 🙄 the wait is the worse especially when you know it should be looked at very soon.

Jneill2021 · 05/11/2021 18:06

@Boof23 I should imagine they should make a decision this weekend hopefully, the wait is horrible I'm only on week 6 so probably another month for mine, its just the not knowing if you have to do a appeal as that's draining I remember having to do it with my daughter not nice at all crossing my fingers your little one gets awarded after such a long wait x

3Hearts1Beat · 06/11/2021 10:48

Anyone know if you can claim Carer’s Allowance and also apply for the Carer’s Element on UC? I’ve been told by an Advisor at the Job Centre that it’s either one or the other but you cannot claim for both however, if I decided to claim Carer’s Allowance UC would be deducting some money from me, so basically you kinda get penalised for claiming Carer’s Allowance… Yet another advisor told me that I could claim both Carer’s Allowance and as well as the Carer’s Element on UC… I’m really, really confused. Can anyone please advise, I mean is there any kind of truth to this?

3Hearts1Beat · 06/11/2021 10:58

@Alk19 so I contacted UC regarding the Carer’s Element claim that I put in back in August and still no change, same old nonsense that it’s currently with a Decision Maker and that they absolutely cannot escalate it any higher up to a Case Manager for example. Honestly, I’ve had enough of UC, it’s just ridiculous. 🙄

Alk19 · 06/11/2021 11:04

@3Hearts1Beat They can escalate it they told me they can escalate it x4 times before service centre ect can get involved mine has a deadline on it now for the 12th November decision has to be made before then Hmm

3Hearts1Beat · 06/11/2021 14:31

@Alk19 OMGOSH! The cheek of them, shocked is an understatement 😧😧… Like WTF, I’ll be on the phone to them again first thing Monday morning. Fingers crossed you really do get a decision before the 12th and thanks for sharing the communications you’ve had with them, appreciate it hun. x

Alk19 · 06/11/2021 14:36

@3Hearts1Beat no problem they try squirming out of everything good luck! Will keep you informed x

Jneill2021 · 08/11/2021 09:48

@Boof23 let me no if you get any good news xx

Boof23 · 08/11/2021 10:58

@jneill2021 I rang this morning still no decision, I now know why though.. it's gone in as a clerical claim so its slowing it down it 🙄 he doesn't have a proper reference number she said it's due to the fact he was a lock down baby and they are struggling to allocate them proper reference numbers.

Jneill2021 · 08/11/2021 11:02

@Boof23 o god hopefully they hurry up with the claim it must be so annoying for you waiting for so long, did they not give you a rough time frame? You've been waiting long enough x

Boof23 · 08/11/2021 11:25

@jneill2021 no lovely they haven't said anything about how long it wouild take, it's getting frustrating now. Thankyou for asking lovely. I don't think he will be awarded mainly due to the fact he's 18 months old and needs alot of care anyway but does have a few medical issues which require more care compared to the average 18 month old but I just want to be put out of my misery now lol x

Lkmc105 · 08/11/2021 11:35
@Lkmc105 I've been waiting since august and still nothing nothing new with Uc unfortunately x
Hi I got my first escalation on Friday how long after that do you reckon I should ask for another

Jneill2021 · 08/11/2021 11:39

@Boof23 the not knowing if your successful is the worst, did you send any evidence with your claim they say its not based on evidence but in my case I have found it is as they rejected my daughter before I had anything stating her needs and my son this is my 2nd time applying for my boy and I'm quite happy my boys paediatrician and portage worker made it clear on there forms that he was rejected before for no evidence that he requires more care then the average 3yr old, I really hope they get your claim sorted quickly, ino they have alot of claims to go through and covid put a backlog but I do believe if you are told 8 weeks they should deal with it by the 8 week mark x

Alk19 · 08/11/2021 12:09

@Lkmc105 did they put anything in your journal about someone getting back to you within 48 hours by 6pm? X

Alk19 · 08/11/2021 12:10

@Lkmc105 We spoke today; I've asked that your Case Manager, Ryan, or one of their colleagues looks at your case and respond to any issues you may have. They will respond via your Journal before 6 pm Monday 25 October with further information.
That's what they kept writing in my journal once it passed I rung them back x

Boof23 · 08/11/2021 12:10

@jneill2021 oh bless you, it's frustrating is t it. yes lovely I sent in a paediatrician letter, a dietician letter a salt report and a hearing assessment I couldn't find his ent letter but he's had an appointment since I applied so hoping that may drop through the door any day and if they haven't decided I'll send it in.

Jneill2021 · 08/11/2021 12:16

@Boof23 by the evidence I dint see how they can turn you down I got my fingers crossed for you hopefully comes through today so you can get it sent of x

Lkmc105 · 08/11/2021 12:17

@alk19 they only says that they will be in contact as soon as a decision has been made and it’s been escalated now to speed up the process, I know it certainly won’t speed up any process lol. because I was getting £128 lower amount and the rates changed to higher if they will even backdate the difference , thanks for your reply

Boof23 · 08/11/2021 12:35

@jneill2021 thankyou so much lovely, the post has been today no letter but it should come any day soon. I will keep you updated. Thanks so much x

Jneill2021 · 08/11/2021 15:20

Anyone had any positive news today x

Ltb17 · 09/11/2021 06:08

@Alk19 ah I see your carers has been sorted, that's great news. How long did it take if you don't mind me asking?

Alk19 · 09/11/2021 07:30

@Ltb17 it was just under 9 weeks my backdate will be issued tomorrow my weekly payments start from Monday the woman actually approved it all over the phone after going through some things with me was pretty shocked she did that to be honest! X

3Hearts1Beat · 09/11/2021 08:01

@Alk19 That’s great news! Happy that you finally got there with them in the end. 🎉🎉… My fight with them continues 😩
