Had to renew DS DLA claim back in September, the 8 weeks is up next week... still got the same amount today..
So either they haven’t changed it and I haven’t recieved the letter yet or they haven’t done it yet.
I find it ridiculous that for kids with autism that we have to re apply.... it’s not like the autism will magically disappear.

Alk19 · 02/11/2021 22:33

@3Hearts1Beat I've had it escalated 4x now that's the maximum they can do before they start to action it further with people higher up shame it doesn't work let us know how you get on X

Pseudonymforme · 03/11/2021 08:44

can anyone advise on my post from a few days ago at all please? Its on page 26 thanks

Alk19 · 03/11/2021 11:08

@Pseudonymforme
I can't see why they would bump you down if your care needs have increased and changes must be reported straight away as you could well be missing out also with mobility you should apply now they're 5 x

LKKT · 03/11/2021 11:11

Just and update.. i phoned this morning and have been awarded HRC so chuffed as was not expecting that at all. I do I just update my journal saying I have been awarded hrc by dla and then ask for caring element and disability element back dated anyone know? X

Jneill2021 · 03/11/2021 14:39

@LKKT amazing news x

Alk19 · 03/11/2021 14:56

@LKKT great news
Yes you have to change your circumstances with uc you'll get the higher carers element rate aswell with getting hrc then put a note in your journal asking for it to be backdated to the start of your award date with DLA x

Ltb17 · 03/11/2021 16:22

OK so someone finally messaged me back on my journal saying the disabled child element has been added to my claim and that the case manager is dealing with the backdate. No mention of carers element though but not sure if that's because I've claimed carers allowance.

Logically I know but just get so nervous! I really hope we get bumped up to higher rate as I feel that reflects care needs

Alk19 · 03/11/2021 19:15

@Ltb17 I get the carers element and waiting on carers allowance did you change your circumstances under the care section? X

Ltb17 · 03/11/2021 19:21

@Alk19 I did yes, although I was already down on there as caring for him anyway but didn't qualify for carers element as he hadn't yet been awarded dla if that makes sense

Alk19 · 03/11/2021 19:28

@Ltb17 I would ring them and let them know that he has it now just to make sure x

Lkmc105 · 04/11/2021 09:38

Hi my son was moved from middle rate to high rate care so I’m now receiving the higher amount of child disability element, this was added to my next payment 5 weeks ago but the back date request is just a nightmare, every time I write in my journal I am ignored or told it can take 28 days even though it’s been 5 weeks.

Alk19 · 04/11/2021 10:22

@Lkmc105 I've been waiting since august and still nothing nothing new with Uc unfortunately x

Boof23 · 04/11/2021 11:03

Guys how did you manage to recieve a text with the decision is this something you requested I have just rang and still no decision as of yet its with the case manager and has been 10 weeks, can I ring them and ask that they text when a decision has been made I don't want to keep ringing but want to know as soon as they've made a decision.

Alk19 · 04/11/2021 11:46

@Boof23 it's pick of the bunch unfortunately some people get texts some don't I got a text on Saturday x

Lkmc105 · 04/11/2021 11:53

Sorry to hear, that seems far to long it’s really hard to find out the process although they did say they work in order of date received that would mean I have at least 5/6 left weeks minimum. Surley their would lots of decision makers but who knows .

Jneill2021 · 04/11/2021 12:32

Anyone no what dates there working on atm x

Boof23 · 04/11/2021 15:55

@jneill2021 mine was scanned 10 weeks ago and it's with the case manager but I know some on here from beginning of September have had their decision so not sure.

ForeverSinging · 04/11/2021 16:37

Hi all, I only sent my renewal off last week but I feel like usually I'd have had a letter or text (or both) to say that they've received my forms. I haven't had anything. At what point would you start to worry that they've been lost in the post?

Jneill2021 · 04/11/2021 18:48

@Boof23 seems 2 just b luck of the draw then, hopefully u get a decision tomorrow, I'm feeling abit better now I had another 6 Pages of evidence sent of instead of just paediatrician report x

Boof23 · 04/11/2021 19:26

@jneill2021 that's brilliant I had a up to date clinic letter arrive but I don't think it will reach there in time before the decision is made, it kind of the same as what one of the letters I sent off anyway just a more recent one.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 05/11/2021 00:48

I can clarify the text issue.

Some staff are office based, some are working from home. Only office based staff have access to the software that deals with the texts. If your claim is being processed by someone working from home, you won’t get any text alerts.

Alk19 · 05/11/2021 10:21

Anyone know how long carers allowance is taking? Put my claim in start of September Hmm

Alk19 · 05/11/2021 11:28

Never mind just spoke with carers allowance she literally just went through my claim over the phone and awarded it me Grin
