Hi the first thread ended because when it reaches a 1000 comments it will close I thought I would set this up so everyone can talk again

@Lrc11 basically they acknowledge I'm disabled, but I'm not disabled enough. They're sticking to the fact that I work (albeit virtually), and therefore my ability to converse with my NHS colleagues means I have no anxiety. The fact I can attend appointments alone went against me, despite explaining we have to go alone due to Covid. That I did my telephone assessment alone, again due to Covid. And that my 13 yo can help me with the cooking so technically I'm not alone....even though she's at school most days.

For context, I broke my elbow in 5 places. It's now set in a funny angle, I've no grip on my left hand, I can't clean or get in and out of the bath without the kids being there. I can't go into the office as if it gets knocked, I vomit a river. I can no longer drive. It's changed my life completely.

Mummy2boys1520 · 22/10/2021 18:21

@Alk19 I think you'll be okay then as you have proof you told them in time they just needs to sort it

Boof23 · 25/10/2021 10:27

Hi guys just rang up to chase my little ones claim, the man I just spoke to has said they haven't got anything on their system I rang last week and they said it was scanned the 26th August and was in the que with the decision maker, I'm abit worried now.

NameChanged15729 · 25/10/2021 11:38

I sent mine of on Saturday, I’m already worried about it. I used a charity to fill in the forms as I find it really upsetting.
The lady who filled in the forms was lovely but mentioned that she would have liked my daughter to have had an ADOS assessment as it gives more evidence. My daughter was diagnosed without one. She has autism that’s classified as severe along with global development delay and pica. I’m now concerned I don’t have enough evidence. I sent of a SALT report and a Ruth Griffith’s assessment that said her autism was severe.
I think I’m going to be anxious about it until they decide. Anyone have any idea at how long there taking at the minute?

Jneill2021 · 25/10/2021 12:32

@NameChanged15729 I sent mine 27th Sept and they received and scanned 28th Sept, I phoned last week they said usually 8 weeks but might hear before then but on other hand saying there running late so think it's just luck of the draw if they get the forms looked at quick I done my daughter around 2 years ago and took around 7 weeks x

Alk19 · 25/10/2021 12:50

@NameChanged15729
My son is autistic gdd and pica he was awarded back in august he's only 2 I only sent a salt report and paediatric report (he doesn't have his official diagnoses for his autism yet) he's on the wait list to be seen by the diagnoses people.
I also got my health visitor to fill in the professional people but hope that helps he was awarded Mrc

Princess23 · 25/10/2021 14:21

Hi does anyone know how long mandatory reconsideration are taking please sick of this process with these x

Mumoflewbielew · 25/10/2021 15:45

They got my MR on 1st october. Got an letter a week or so after to let me know. Says can take upto 111 weeks which takes my wait up to 17 dec 🙄. I sent them no evidence 1st time. For the MR I had copies of small steps reports..getting to know me forms, school questionnaire with most boxes ticked as definate concerns, dyslexia screening report and a general statement about him. First time round school told them there were no concerns with him, then 2 days later small steps sent me all of the reports and info they have made to small steps. Evidence show they have lied. Now back on the waiting game. They refused me becaise he is in a mainstream school with no concerns or plans in place. This evidence show he is impulsive, bangs head on table' and need contstand prompts and reminders. Im expecting a full 11 week wait then I'm taking it to tribunal. School have had what for too

Mumoflewbielew · 25/10/2021 15:48

*11 weeks

NameChanged15729 · 25/10/2021 17:55

Thank you Alk19 and jneill
I already claim dla for my five year old who gets middle rate and I can’t remember feeling this nervous about it. He is also autistic and has global developmental delay but is higher functioning than his sister who is very disabled by it. I had more evidence to send off with his application as well as they did an ados assessment. Dd is non verbal and very obviously autistic so they didn’t need to assess her for very long. In a weird way I feel that’s going to come back to haunt us with this application!

Jneill2021 · 25/10/2021 18:10

@NameChanged15729 I'm the same I claim for my 6yr old daughter her autism isn't as bad as her younger brothers plus she has severe speech and language delay, as her brother is 3 diagnosed autism 1st assessment so I'm taking it he's quite high on the spectrum as they only observed him for couple hours plus he has gdd and being monitored adhd , not confident with his claim I put in as I filled it out my self and only had paediatric report where as my daughter had portage report paediatric and a couple other appointment letters fingers crossed 4 both our little ones claims xx

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 08:25

@Alk19 hey I got my back payment in yesterday but I think it's wrong waiting for them to get back to me soils have been backdated to June 28 my payment day is 1st so I thought I was getting July august and September back but I've only had 2 months back. My first payment with my ice went in October I notified them august. I haven't received a letter explaining what the payment is either so it's like I don't have a clue what they have done

Alk19 · 26/10/2021 08:47

@Mummy2boys1520 hey that's great wouldn't that be because it's paid in arrears so your September pay would only be paid in October through your assessment periods x

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 08:50

@Alk19 that's what I thought put they only paid me for if my son got lrc/max 128.89 in October but my son has been awarded higher rate which I told them so should have been 402.41. So it more they owe me on that then the others which they was aware of because they said they would put the different in with the payment but haven't

Alk19 · 26/10/2021 09:11

@Mummy2boys1520 ahh right yes that makes sense make sure the carers element is added aswell there so sneaky they try getting out of everything! X

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 09:15

@Alk19 I can't get the cares element because I get the Limited capability to work myself as I receive pip also so they said I'm not entitled which is fine I'm just glad I'm getting closer to sorting my son out just gotta get this assessment for autism now the wait is so long

Hannm123 · 26/10/2021 09:25

Hey @Mummy2boys1520 I’ve been following your comments as I’m also awaiting a back dated payment through from Uc .I’ve done this before so know how the process works but mine was the same as yours ..they told me middle rate over the phone so I put it on my journal then the next thing I rang up to double check my dates and the lady told me I was awarded high care so had to go back on my journal and tell them again and they would “refer to decision maker “ after awarding me the £128 payments they then had to go back and re calculate and made the £400 payments it only took around 4 days to go in but I’ve noticed they’re saying 28 days at the minute to hear back from decision maker x

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 09:41

@Hannm123 I told them from the beginning it was always higher rate care it's took them just over 2 months to actually sort the backdate out. I'm hoping this is just a straightforward change and it doesn't drag out again. But thank you for letting me know I just want it all sorted now it's taking forever

Alk19 · 26/10/2021 09:44

@Mummy2boys1520 oh right okay yeah that makes sense! They just keep telling me there's no time frame but the woman last week said before 12th nov I give up with them now in all honesty but that's great news regarding your son there's a 12-14 month waiting list around my end so still a while for us but his pead said he's on the spectrum quite evidently x

Nic247 · 26/10/2021 09:56

Hi its been a while since I lasted checked or commented on this thread, but I'm still waiting to hear about back pay from Universal credits too. My messages just get ignored. Only one I received was about 6 weeks ago saying its with decision maker

Alk19 · 26/10/2021 10:15

@Nic247 I told them in august still nothing I've had it escalated 4 times mine was never sent to a decision maker in the first place it is now but I just keep getting the same message saying there's no time frame x

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 10:47

@Alk19 I just don't get what they are doing with yours hopefully it goes in before Christmas. Yeah his in the ARP class now and they said it's about a 10 month wait here. I just can't wait for him to get the support he needs as it's starting to get quite hard with him

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 10:48

@Nic247 hi mine took just over 2 months for the back date to be sorted well it's not quite right but have had some pay been paid so hopefully it won't be two long for you now. I would call them and get them to but in an escalation that's what I didn't and it was sorted with the decision maker the next day and got payment Monday

Nmhx · 26/10/2021 11:20

Hi guys. I’m still awaiting UC to make backdated payment. It’s been 2 weeks. They haven’t given any timeframe when I’ve asked.
It’s so weird that some have said there’s only took a few days and we’re still sat here weeks on waiting. So annoying!
Hopefully get a little chunk in time for Xmas

Mummy2boys1520 · 26/10/2021 11:54

@Nmhx mine took just over 2 months
