Does anyone know with renewals if your awarded a higher rate does it get back dated from when you sent the forms or when you start getting the new rate when the original award ends? Just Curious

IncyWincyGrownUp · 05/10/2021 10:28

My son’s form was scanned on the third of September. While calling to talk about additional evidence, the call handler said I should hear something before the middle of November. No idea if that’s of any help to anybody.

Twin93 · 05/10/2021 12:39

Rang today as our award ends tomorrow my sons been awarded hrc and lrm after his first renewal awarded for 6 years and the extra payment is also being backdated from when they received my forms 13 weeks of waiting and im happy with the outcome

InterviewTerminated · 05/10/2021 14:04

Hi, been following this thread for a while. My first time.claim was scanned on the 8th August. I had no forms to send as, although my daughter has been diagnosed with Aspergers, she is still being treated for severe anxiety disorder and is awaiting psychotherapist and neuropsychologist assessments so the report haven't been completed as yet. Her case worker at CAMHS was on annual leave at the time of completing the form and the schools were closed so didn't get that part completed either. She has extra medical needs as she is being assessed by a consultant due to her walking difficulties and is undergoing various MRI scans and xrays. I told them everything on the form in great detail and i received a letter from her case worker at CAMHS confirming everything. I called on Monday and was told a decision was imminent and that I should send the letter to them marked for the attention of the original decision maker. Does this mean the decision was made and the claim was unsuccessful??

Lrc11 · 06/10/2021 12:55

Also, My mobile is broken so I gave them the landline just wondering how long a letter normally takes after a decision is made?

Nmhx · 06/10/2021 14:44

@Lrc11 I would hope not but given that they rejected my sons claim because I did not include any supporting evidence, I wouldnt put it past them that they’d rejected yours on the same grounds. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Lrc11 · 06/10/2021 14:58

Did you put in a mandatory reconsideration. If they reject it I'm gonna be so deflated cause that form.alone was a nightmare x

Nmhx · 06/10/2021 15:15

@Lrc11 yes I did and I sent off the evidence they requested.
Majority of the refusal was “no evidence to support…” any of the statements I made in the application.
Hopefully not for you. I will keep my fingers crossed for you

Gemlouise1989 · 08/10/2021 09:11

Anyone from the start of august heard back yet?

Ltb17 · 08/10/2021 12:06

@Gemlouise1989 I'm 13th August, not had decision yet, had 'sorry about delay' letter yesterday

Lrc11 · 08/10/2021 12:33

I'm 8th August, got sorry for delay letter last Saturday and was told a decision should be imminent when I called on Monday. Still nothing tho

Dazedandconfused28 · 08/10/2021 12:43

My form was scanned 3rd August, had the letter outlining the delay about 2 weeks ago. No news yet x

almightyfroggie · 08/10/2021 23:01

Still no info here, forms received 01 August, got a text they received them 11th Aug. The suspense is killing me

Princess23 · 10/10/2021 21:52

Hi anyone know how long mandatory reconsiderationso are taking please x

Nmhx · 10/10/2021 22:47

@Princess23 i was told by DWP it was around 11 weeks.
I’ve been waiting 5 weeks so far

Princess23 · 11/10/2021 00:31

Yes that's around the same time as me mine was from 8th September hope it's not that long though weve waited to long already thanks for letting me know hun hope we hear soon x

lollipopsandrainbows · 11/10/2021 07:40

@Princess23 I chased my MR on Friday, said the decision is expected by 31 October - I've been waiting since 2 August.

Princess23 · 11/10/2021 10:48

Thanks lollipopsandrainbows looks like it's around 12 week mark is suppose was going to ring up today.the lady that I spoke to last week said there only takin about 5 weeks but I have found out u get told all different when

Nmhx · 11/10/2021 13:16

@Princess23 a lady I spoke to had told me the same and when I called after 4 weeks and asked for an update I was told MRs are now taking up to 11 weeks - maybe they say this to prevent you from calling in and they hope that within that time you’d have definitely had a response and would not call at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

lollipopsandrainbows · 11/10/2021 13:48

Does anyone know if you receive a text if your application has been successful? Or is it just a letter?

Alk19 · 11/10/2021 14:23

@lollipopsandrainbows
I received a text saying my son qualifies but I know some people haven't guess it's luck or the draw

IncyWincyGrownUp · 11/10/2021 23:19

I didn’t even receive a text to say the form had arrived. It really is a bit of a raffle on the comms front.
