@Gemlouise1989 yeah yours will be 8 weeks from the 6th, although judging by majority on here it's more or less 9 weeks at the moment

Hannm123 · 30/09/2021 12:15

* update* just rang them and my daughter was awarded yesterday ..over the moon ..so for anyone waiting forms we’re scanned onto system 29th of July and decision made yesterday ..no text as yet but just under 9 weeks ..good luck everyone 🤞🏽😊x

Gemlouise1989 · 30/09/2021 12:51

After i posted on here this morning i got the 'decision not yet made' letter though post. Mine was scanned week after yours so hopfully not much longer.

Nmhx · 30/09/2021 14:34

Fantastic @Hannm123

Hannm123 · 30/09/2021 18:36

Thanks everyone ..wishing you the best of luck x

Hannm123 · 01/10/2021 09:30

@Gemlouise1989 your right my “sorry for the delay letter “ came last week and decision was made this weds so shouldn’t be much longer for you x

lollipopsandrainbows · 01/10/2021 13:53

I've been waiting on mandatory reconsideration since the 8th August, heard nothing since.

Nmhx · 01/10/2021 16:29

@lollipopsandrainbows I’m sorry to hear you’ve been waiting so long. I was told up to 11 weeks. 😩 mine was 3rd sept. Keep me updated with when you hear back x

lollipopsandrainbows · 01/10/2021 17:04

@Nmhx thank you. My first assessment was bang on 8 weeks but it contained so many lies that I instantly appealed it. Even though I was angry at the lies, I had to laugh how it said I "accessed 3 physio sessions PER DAY". Who knew the NHS had this level of funding!

Ltb17 · 02/10/2021 15:28

Sorry, new to this but found this thread when searching for some answers.
My little boy has had a verbal diagnosis of autism and global development delay. He has been referred to panel for an assessment to get a formal diagnosis, the paediatrician we saw said he's likely to be high end (still not sure what any of it means) and advised us to apply for dla for him. My forms were scanned in on 13th August. Not heard anything yet but I don't think I've sent enough evidence and I'm still not sure I've done the right thing applying. I know I'm feeling lost and confused about it all. Still not had the paediatricians report so couldn't send a copy of that either.

Twin93 · 02/10/2021 15:35

@Ltb17
My son didnt have a diagnosis when I first applied i just sent off the few letters I had from speech and language, school and the pediatrician which just stated he could potentially have asd, and he was awarded for 2 years. Its based on care needs not a actual diagnosis so they look at how different he is compared to a child his age , once you receive any more reports or letters just send them in take copies though as you won't get them back x

Hannm123 · 04/10/2021 10:48

Hi 👋 does anyone know how long it takes for backdated payment to land in your account please ? X

Alk19 · 04/10/2021 11:11

@Hannm123 my claim was approved on a Saturday payment went in on a Wednesday x

Hannm123 · 04/10/2021 11:43

Thanks @Alk19 I’m hoping it will be in tommorow .decision was made last weds so thought it might of been today but fingers crossed for tommorow x

Alk19 · 04/10/2021 11:46

@Hannm123 dla payments are normally made on a Wednesday so I would probably wait till then and ring up Wednesday if no payments has come through X

Twin93 · 04/10/2021 11:49

Spoke to dla today they told me my sons renewal is with a decision maker and I should get a text Wednesday 6th. That's the day our current award ends. If he is awarded again do I need to make a new claim for carers allowance as this also ends the 6th.

Hannm123 · 04/10/2021 11:55

@Twin93 I’d think it would just run on , hopefully you’ll be awarded so technically non of them will end as such just renewed..did carers write to you to let you know your award was due to end ? X

Hannm123 · 04/10/2021 11:56

@Alk19 thanks ..I was trying to work it owt as I’ve not had a letter through yet.do they pay it from the weds after it’s awarded ? X

Alk19 · 04/10/2021 12:01

@Hannm123 yes well I think that's how they did mine x

Twin93 · 04/10/2021 12:06

@Hannm123 yes I received a letter a few days ago saying my carers is going to end on said date but now I cant find the letter I do believe we will be awarded hopefully its by Wednesday so I can just call up with the new award dates x

Hannm123 · 04/10/2021 12:10

Yes I’m sure you will ..I know it’s a ball ache leaving you until literally the last minute when it has such a knock on effect with other benefits ..I’m hoping you get awarded and then you can just ring them and let them know and hopefully not have to worry for another 2 years x

Off2pub · 04/10/2021 12:57

Do you know if they send text messages out to say that the claim has been unsuccessful? or do you only receive a text to say when it has been awarded? I know a few people with applications around my date have been awarded but I haven't heard anything so presuming that i've been unsuccessful.
TIA

Gemlouise1989 · 04/10/2021 14:48

When were your forms scanned?

Twin93 · 04/10/2021 15:33

@Gemlouise1989 mine were sent the 29th June and scanned the 12th of July so 12 weeks today for me

Ltb17 · 04/10/2021 17:59

Thank you for letting me know. I've almost hit the 8 week mark and heard nothing as of yet
