That’s sounds like an amazing night @myrtleWilson. I can’t dance but love a cocktail 🍹, but I’m a cheap night as two is my limit, I would be asleep Blush.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/10/2021 06:49

Two for me too but I really don’t drink. Live a dance though. Your night out sounds fab. Sorry to hear you are dealing with an ED

MrsEWeatherwax · 05/10/2021 21:48

Anyone else feel we have skipped autumn and gone straight into bloody winter. The weather today was unreal, anyone hear the thunder.
Not even cosy winter just wet and cold.
Went to see the new Bond film, Sunday afternoon. Fantastic end to the weekend. Going to miss Daniel Craig as Bond, love a blue eyed manBlush.

MrsEWeatherwax · 05/10/2021 21:50

Hope your DD is getting help for her ED myrtleWilson.
Not really impressed with Co Durham’s mental health support.

Gilead · 05/10/2021 22:04

Have to say Co. Durham mental health team were really good with my dd, last year.(Cahms).

As for weather, it’s still blowing a hooked here!

PickAChew · 05/10/2021 23:18

It's been wild. Seems to be quietening down now. Glad - means I might not get woken up by rain hammering off the dorma of my bedroom at 3am, like last night.

Someaddedsugar · 06/10/2021 20:06

Today has been much nicer thankfully!

The thunder yesterday caused a very comedy style throwing tea all down my front on a call yesterday. Definitely amused my colleagues 😂.

DP is currently dancing in the front room at a thought of a potential Newcastle takeover. I've hidden to watch Netflix and roll my eyes 🤣.

It’s been lovely today but very muddy out

PickAChew · 06/10/2021 20:48

And cold. Particularly when on a bus with all the windows open.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/10/2021 21:05

Oo yeah brr

Someaddedsugar · 09/10/2021 19:14

How’s everyone doing this weekend? I’ve just spotted there’s a new farm shop called Field and Fodder (I think) somewhere near Bearpark in Durham and wondered if anyone had been?

OP posts:
PickAChew · 09/10/2021 19:21

Just looked that up on Google. Saw lots of fika coffee and jam in one of the pics!

I've managed a bit of sewing, today. DH has been cutting back and tidying up the garden as our big old tree is coming down, this week. It's going to look so bleak.

Florelei · 09/10/2021 19:22

Hello everyone. No, @Someaddedsugar I haven’t been but I will have to check it out. We’ve been to the Wensleydale heifer today which was lovely.

We are going to Lanchester garden centre tomorrow and maybe the metro centre.

ifoundthebread · 09/10/2021 19:35

Good evening all, north easterner here! From a small village in-between sunderland, Newcastle and Durham. Durham Post code but pay council tax to sunderland 😂

MrsEWeatherwax · 09/10/2021 20:28

I follow the Field and Fodder Instagram page, looks good.
DH says we can visit next week. Broom house farm then Field and Fodder. Love a farm shop. Blush.
Weather has been lovely again today.
Did my good deeds today. Helped two visitors on Park and Ride bus. And I did a hard sell of the moon at the cathedral Blush. And helped a couple to find bus for Houghall.
Must admit the driver was miserable when I asked him to point out return stop! The signage is dreadful. But he did point out, so all good.

MrsEWeatherwax · 09/10/2021 20:32

What is the Wensleydale heifer? @Florelei is it a cow? Are you going to miss the food/craft market?
I’m always shocked that Houghton le Spring has a Durham postcode.

Florelei · 09/10/2021 20:37

Sorry @MrsEWeatherwax it’s a restaurant. The food is amazing!

We are going to miss the farmer’s market but will still visit it at rowlands gill.

We are quite excited about the kings head reopening. Apparently it’s going to be a really good food pub.

PickAChew · 09/10/2021 21:04

And Peterlee has a Sunderland postcode!

We had a Hartlepool phone number, in our last house.

MrsEWeatherwax · 09/10/2021 22:21

I always think that Hartlepool is in Co Durham. Just shows how many boundaries changes there have been over the years!

alphabetti · 09/10/2021 22:23

Hi All! I live in Darlington Smile

PickAChew · 09/10/2021 23:55

Hi, @alphabetti. I was down your way, the other day, fabric shopping!

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/10/2021 08:11

Me too alphabeti.
I’ve been to Birmingham and back this weekend for horse of the year,
Most of October will be kid’s bit and packing to move house

Cally62 · 10/10/2021 19:16

Evening All....

Can't believe I've found a North East Thread.

I'm Teesside. Grin

PickAChew · 10/10/2021 19:38

Hi @cally62. We've been hiding in plain sight, all this time ;)

Someaddedsugar · 10/10/2021 20:08

Hello @ifoundthebread, @alphabetti and @Cally62 👋🏻!

We're going to have a look at Field and Fodder next weekend.

I'm taking DS to the train museum on North Road, Darlington this week. He's very excited although I can't remember what it's like as it must be 25 years since I've been!

Have you got plans for your garden once your tree goes @PickAChew?

You sound like you've had a busy day with your good deeds @MrsEWeatherwax!

What did you have to eat @Florelei? I love to hear about restaurants and hotels!

I have to share my new favourite recipe find - Mob Kitchen's tomato and red pepper soup with a cheese toastie on the side, and the cheese toastie has chilli jam in it! It's amazing! I've since made the toasties for lunch and they are so so nice!
