To be fair, a lot of people know exactly where I live. A very well known (locally, not famous) person lived in my house. It is still generally called X's house.

Can vouch for Block and Bottle - we used to go when they were under the Arches and have popped over to Heaton a few times - we ordered Christmas porchetta from there for 2020 Christmas (that was a super cold covid distanced long queue to wait in - well I was in the car but DH and DD were super cold

@wonkylegs I've heard good things about Route in Newcastle but not been myself. My favourite place in Newcastle is Kaltur -- really good Spanish tapas - we had dinner there for DH's birthday at end of November (there are two branches but I think the menu is the same at both)

@TerryChoc - the kings has reopened under new management. We’ve only been one for Sunday lunch and it was nice. We keep meaning to try the food on a weeknight but always seem to end up either at the Pavillion or ravellos! It always looks busy when I pass though.

I'm currently in paediatric urgent care with DS and the last few posts have cheered me right up - especially the thought of stalking from the bushes .

So much praise for everyone who works here and the care they've shown DS. But hoping blood results come back soon so I can get to bed!

Thank you all - he's fine now. Just a very nasty reaction to a viral infection. A bit of a long night but he's home and happy and that's the main thing!

Saw a report on twatter of garage roofs coming off up in Newton Hall.

Ds2 is under the weather and complaining of a headache. DH has one, too.

The power is off again in parts of our village. I’ve just been for lunch at Ravello’s.

Hopefully everyone gets power back faster than last time.

Various trees down, power off for the day but came back just as dh phoned to say he had ordered pizzas so much better than last time. Hope all affected get theirs back soon too.

@OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea - have you had any updates on when your power might be back on? I got an email saying that I might want to make alternate arrangements(!)

We didn't get any updates and the map on the website has vanished and been replaced by a general "we're working on it" message but then it just came back anyway. Dh had been down at the rugby club and came back with 4 huge dominoes pizzas which we are failing to get through.

One of DP's friends has had garden furniture land on their nearly new car in the early hours of the morning.

Lots of wheelie bins blown over across the village and I passed a number of fences down in Sacriston at lunchtime. On the A1 the roadworks signage was being taken down as it was all coming loose.

Both guys have a headache and shivers. Ds2 has slept all afternoon. He's just woken up and is still quiet. Not something we're used to!
