For me it's baths. Never quite the experience I crave.

Going to the cinema. It doesn’t matter how good the film is, after about 45 minutes I’m itching to get out of there.

wizzywig · 26/08/2021 18:33

My husband

BlackberrySky · 26/08/2021 18:34

Champagne.

GnomeOrMistAndIceGuy · 26/08/2021 18:36

Fast food - Maccas et al. On the odd occasion I give into a craving I take about 2 bites and think, "oh yeah, this is still shit. Well done."

TheYearOfSmallThings · 26/08/2021 18:36

New Year's Eve

Hah, yes!

Baths are glorious at first; bubbles are relaxing, hot water feels great, etc. But after 20 minutes the water is tepid, I feel all wrinkly, and my arms ache from holding my book or phone up.

SquirryTheSquirrel · 26/08/2021 18:38

Books that you've saved to read on a particular occasion.

Winemewhynot · 26/08/2021 18:40

Clothes from boohoo/isawitfirst/prettylittlething

Those celeb insta ads get me every time and when it comes it’s tat straight off Kat Slaters stall

Never again and I mean it this time 😂

WisestIsShe · 26/08/2021 18:40

Biscuits. Even homemade ones. They always smell much better than they taste.

SquirryTheSquirrel · 26/08/2021 18:41

Christmas dinner. By the time I've cooked it all, I'm sick of the sight of it.

imadeitnice · 26/08/2021 18:41

Fish and chips

UnGoogled · 26/08/2021 18:42

Any sort of dessert, really. Never worth the calories and sugar rush, but do I remember next time? Do I 'eck.

NorthernDramaLlama · 26/08/2021 18:42

Swimming in an indoor pool. I always get excited. Swim up and down a couple of times and then want to go home but there's the faff of getting changed etc. On a warm day, outdoor swimming and drying off in the sunshine is an absolute pleasure!

This!
MadisonAvenue · 26/08/2021 18:43

Fish and chips.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/08/2021 18:44

Grape Nuts cereal. Every couple of years I forget the side effects, and five minutes of pleasure is followed by a day of indigestion and an excoriated bottom.

Notsurenow43 · 26/08/2021 18:44

Doughnuts

TheWayTheLightFalls · 26/08/2021 18:47

Christmas / seasonal markets.
Premium economy.
Homemade lasagne/moussaka/shepherds’ pie - by the time it’s ready you’ve used every dish and utensil in the house, spent £8/portion and it still won’t taste as good as Cook/M&S.

MrsFin · 26/08/2021 18:48

Take aways.
And more recently, chocolate

HerbErtlinger · 26/08/2021 18:50

Fruit teas. Smell amazing, tastes like cat pee

Helloitsmi · 26/08/2021 18:51

Baths. And takeaways recently... unfortunately.

TulipVictory · 26/08/2021 18:53

My birthday, I don't know why but every year I expect it to feel amazing and I just feel a bit meh. Maybe I'm just miserable 🤣

Absolutely this! Smell of luscious ripe cherries, taste of faintly sour dishwater.
Terrysmyorange · 26/08/2021 18:54

Takeaways- expensive, faff of collecting them and they taste disappointing.

Miliao · 26/08/2021 18:57

Yes, definitely fish and chips. Love the idea of it, but I end up picking off all the batter, it’s too stodgy. I’ve got better with baths now as I take the iPad and a glass of wine with me, but I used to think they were dull. Champagne though?! I would drink that all day if work would allow!
