Apparently the queen is considering taking legal action to stop the verbal attacks on the royal family.

How could you have possibly missed that I do not like the US system of Foundations it does not sit at all right with European sensibilities. I am clearly against them- where Harry comes into that is announcing their charitable donations as if altruistic - they are how US Foundation system works they will lose tax benefits if they don’t give 5% to charity.

I find it unpleasant that so many think their charitable donations make them good people when it is part of a US system for wealth preservation. Perhaps I should ask for a list of where my NI contributions have last paid for someone’s operation and ask where is the round of applause? Smile Legal requirement for not being chased by HMRC is paying what is required. Paying what is required does not make you an inherently good person in U.K. and giving to charity via Foundations does not make you a kind person.

It’s great that you think US people should not pay taxes that are asked of them in some states because they’re too high - that’s how the wealthy get obscenely wealthy in the US. Maybe better health provision could be provided if the US didn’t have people that think like you and H&M and other very wealthy people that to pay as little tax as possible is the way to go.

That’s not the humour Harry provides, that’s the humour provided by those defending Harry because he gave to charity. Funny.

Roussette · 26/08/2021 13:53

In all the news reports, it is quoted as 1,060 miles. Perhaps that's a round trip then. I quoted the articles that intimated that. I checked everything else but not that. My apologies.

To have three SUVs doing this trip there and back is OTT.

Why2why · 26/08/2021 13:54

I reckon the Queen isn’t the only one with lawyers. Harry will write his truth.

So you are saying the Queen is issuing threats to silence Harry?

I suspect the US would be very interested in hearing from her lawyers and it would be great to see what legal jurisdiction she has in the US where I take it the book will be written and published.

I’m sure the world would love to hear a court case where the “facts” are disputed. Maybe the world will learn a bit more about the “facts” including those are PA.

I doubt the Queen wants to open that door, particularly in the US. Let’s see her lodge a suit on the US.

@MummyJ12

I would suggest Harry writing his memoir *@KidneyBeans* I’m not of the opinion that he feeds the press intentionally or that Harry has driven the press (I have not mentioned Meghan at all in this thread) if you have read my original post I did write that he does regardless of his intentions unfortunately.
That doesn't explain why Harry writing a book that not yet published has driven press articles over the past week, when the reality is he's not actually done anything specifically. Him writing a book generally does not explain the article linked to in this thread or by you. The articles don't even suggest the book as the reason for legal advice being sought.

The timing of those articles appears to be a convenient distraction driven by the Palace and the Royal Rota

Roussette · 26/08/2021 13:58

Marmaladeagain To be frank, I'm not keeping up with everything you don't like.

It’s great that you think US people should not pay taxes that are asked of them in some states because they’re too high - that’s how the wealthy get obscenely wealthy in the US. Maybe better health provision could be provided if the US didn’t have people that think like you and H&M and other very wealthy people that to pay as little tax as possible is the way to go

I know you and I don't agree but just stop saying I think this or I think that when I have not posted those things.

Rail against Charitable Foundations in the US if you so wish... just do not say 'pepple that think like me'. And don't hold H&M responsible for the existence of charitable foundations over there... that's pathetic.

I only said that hundreds of thousands of charitable foundations exist in the US, and that some States have very high taxes.

As normal marmalade you yet again make it personal and twist what I say.
Tedious.

Yeah you clearly find the whole thing hilarious Confused

This is fascinating. Rather than just admit that you enjoy criticising H&M you're claiming to only follow and read about them under the guise of finding them humorous when your posts clearly express your venom towards them.

Why not just admit that you dislike them but enjoy spending your time slagging them off and so follow and read about them simply so that you can enjoy criticising them? The faux-finding them humorous doesn't really work when your dislike of them is so obvious

The timing of those articles appears to be a convenient distraction driven by the Palace and the Royal Rota

The timing appears to be driven by the publication next week of a new edition of Finding Freedom with an added chapter which claims the RF was relieved that the Duchess of Sussex was unable to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.

Good for her if she is!

Considering those claims were only published within the last 24 hours and the articles that triggered this thread were published days ago, that seems unlikely. It's more likely that the latest FF revelations are more distraction from PA's ongoing embarrassment and criticism
Roussette · 26/08/2021 14:19

Is them being relieved at her not attending that big a deal? I think it is eminently sensible not to turn a funeral into a media circus. And I'm sure she was very relieved to be so pregnant and not able to attend. Everything was raw at that point, so it all worked out well.

I still think this Q consulting lawyers stuff (surely surely not over that I've just typed... that's pathetic!) is all about diversionary tactics from what really should be taking their concentration.
Andrew.

Marmaladeagain · 26/08/2021 14:32

Faux - it’s a live sitcom and funnier than Spinal Tap. Hypocrisy is always funny. I’ve often said I have always disliked Harry due to his racist behaviour in the past, never thought he was a cheeky chap. So you haven’t uncovered a startling truth there about me not liking Harry 😀.

Remember no-one liked Basil Fawlty either but he was funny with his unpleasant character as he didn’t realise he was awful.

Taking oneself too seriously and earnestly naval gazing is a standard comedy character.

Anyway are you going to stop worrying about me now I’ve answered all your faux curiosity on why I post? Seems like you have the answer you wanted to your satisfaction now.

Does it? I’m not sure why. Presumably the royal legal team had advance notice of the new edition and its putative content?

I completely agree but I guess it depends on how it’s spun.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 26/08/2021 14:41

What happens with Andrew is largely out of her hands.
The FBI don't give a shit what title he has.
The Meghan and Harry thing...I'm not surprised she's doing something.

Right, so it's his unpleasant behaviour that you find so amusing?

It's odd because you keep repeating that you find them amusing but your comments don't really skin with that:

Selling his own grandmother etc. Selling his mother's memory. Selling potential private information. Tawdry.

Doesn't exactly sound like sit-com material 🤷‍♀️

CathyorClaire · 26/08/2021 15:20

Why do you come out with this stuff like it's fact.
It isn't.

But it is fact they trademarked 100 or so items of clothing under the Sussex Royal banner which is kind of tacky.

Marmaladeagain · 26/08/2021 15:22

kidney just don't worry about it. You don't get it. Didn't every like Harry due to his unpleasant racist past. He gets married and proceeds to become an even bigger idiot. Don't like how they treated the Queen. Lots of hypocricy all round. See any of their statements and how they fall down flat - funny. Not sure why all that's so difficult to understand.

Tawdry behaviour is separate to the funny behaviour separate to Harry's racist incidents in the past when I recognised he's not very pleasant. Lots of facts can be held in a head all at once. Binary thinking really is a thing isn't it.

CathyorClaire · 26/08/2021 15:22

I don't rate his chances when Charles finally gets the public-pleasing but self-serving slimline monarchy he's been touting for years.

CathyorClaire · 26/08/2021 15:25

he's not very pleasant

And this is exactly what we've been seeing ever since he's been off the books of those expensive palace spin doctors selling us the cheeky chappy persona.

Oldbutstillgotit · 26/08/2021 15:37

To those people who don’t think Harry is going to sling any mud in his memoir , what do you imagine he is going to write about ? Apparently there was a bidding war and a huge advance so what could possibly be so interesting ?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 26/08/2021 15:45

It's the beginning of the end anyway.
If there's a monarchy left after William I'll eat my hat.

DottyHarmer · 26/08/2021 15:59

I said on the other thread that no one, no one , would publish, bid for or read any updates or a book series that failed to contain salacious tit bits. There has to be new material - and juicy material at that. I expect the rf are scared. But I think Harry has only got one shot at this. He can’t still be remembering terrible affronts ten years down the line.

How did they treat the Queen?

Was it worse that PA who continued his friendship with a convicted sex offender for years after she'd asked him not to?
Odd how that doesn't seem to have lost him much favour though.

I'm not convinced the Queen's judgement is particularly commendable recently

Has anyone said they don't think Harry will ' sling mud'?

I think we've just pointed out that no one knows what an unpublished book will contain
