Apparently the queen is considering taking legal action to stop the verbal attacks on the royal family.

Gosh. Why should he mention about 5% from charitable foundations going to causes when it is totally the norm in the US and goes without saying. Charitable foundations are a way of life over there.

Flying by private jet, always funny when H&M do that

I find it far more 'funny' when PCharles does it. He lives here and is supported by the taxpayer. H&M don't. PC took helictopers all over the place whilst lecturing people on climate change only recently. There's articles about it out there.

And have a look at this..
PA needed three SUV vehicles up in Balmoral. here That's over 1,000 miles and three gas guzzlers. And another 1,000 miles back to Royal Park.
Let's have some outrage on that.

Laugh at H&M all you like. There are very very many people who don't feel like you do, when the hypocrisy is far closer to home and we pay for it.

ancientgran · 25/08/2021 14:39

@Roussette

She's estranged from her family. Don't blame her. I would be too.

We have no idea how 'estranged' Harry is from his. Not all of them that's for sure. Not his GM, not Eugenie. We don't know do we?

Yes, I'll make judgements on her family given her stepbrother is selling stories in Australia in Big Brother, her Dad sold a personal letter written by her, and her stepsister writes books saying how awful she is.
Not a family I'd want.

Why would saying someone has ambitions to be a politician be having a go at someone?

You tell me! It spawned huge threads about how awful it was she was contemplating this (when that is not true) how dare she even think of it, how delusions of grandeur she has, how dare she...

So you tell me. The criticism on MN that she even might be thinking of it (when we don't know) was horrendous.

I didn't say Harry was estranged from all of his family, although given what he's said about them I can't imagine they are all looking forward to a meet up.

So it is OK for you to make judgements on people but wrong for anyone else. Fair enough.

I'm just not sure why you are being so defensive about the politics, if people are negative about it why not just say "nothing wrong with being a politician." It all seems to get so personal.

We mustn't believe what's written about H&M, we don't know the truth, all made up by the press at the instigation of the palace to distract us from H&M etcbut obviously we should believe PA needs 3 SUV because it was said in the media somewhere.

Either we need to be sceptical about all that's written or none of it.

I'm obviously slipping, Marmaladeagain - if all that was in the last week I've missed a lot (except Scobie's witterings and I take no notice of grotesques like that except to note that, interestingly, H&M have yet to sue him)

Now you mention it, I do vaguely recall something about the "charitable donation" too, but as with all the RF I'll believe it only if I see details as to exactly where it's come from

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 14:50

Well said Ancientgran - always well said Ancientgran TBF, but just thought I'd mention it Grin

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 14:51

Puzzled I completely understand. That's why we shall be such a great resource in the future on how not to run a PR campagin for those BA Marketing students.

You obviously didn't read my post. Why am I defensive about it? I only pointed out that the criticism of something that probably isn't going to happen, was horrendous when the people who dislike her thought it might happen.

And yes, I did say 'there's nothing wrong with being a politician' in very many sorts of ways when people were absolutely incandescent at the thought. It didn't go down well.

all made up by the press at the instigation of the palace to distract us from H&M etcbut obviously we should believe PA needs 3 SUV because it was said in the media somewhere

There's pictures of the 3 SUVs if you click on the link. And details of every car, which models, whether it was his private numberplates or not, two Land Rover Discovery's and a Land Rover Defender.

And it's in about 15+ news sources if you care to verify. I doubt they are all wrong.

When I report stuff I do my best to verify myself. Unlike the rumour that MM is going into politics.

stepupandbecounted · 25/08/2021 16:15

Harry and Meghan love to lecture others on climate change endlessly but feel it does not apply to them, with use of private jets and SUVs.

They do the same thing with privacy, they want ultimate privacy until they want to sell a book, podcast etc and then suddenly they bare all in interviews and books and revel in the drama and attention.

They bleat on that they can't cope with being with the racist Royal Family and then name their second child after the head of said household.

They are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites and everyone can see through it all now. There hypocrisy is transparent for all to see.
Most of us are sick of them, sick of the circus that is their contribution to life.

Roussette · 25/08/2021 16:32

Lol.

We don't pay for them. We do for PA and PC who we pay for, see my post above yours. If you wanna talk hypocrisy that is...

Plumtree391 · 25/08/2021 16:34

I've not listened to any 'lectures' from Harry and Meghan. I've watched them on TV during which they have touched on issues important to them and to others. I think that is a good thing.

stepupandbecounted · 25/08/2021 16:36

Prince Charles has served the country all of his life and will soon be King of course I do not begrudge him anything. PA is soon to be exiled and is already half way there - job done.

H&M should just stop talking, and see their ratings improve overnight.

Blossomtoes · 25/08/2021 16:48

Either we need to be sceptical about all that's written or none of it

This really can’t be said too often.

SpindleWhorl · 25/08/2021 16:52

I'm amazed Charles was rehabilitated to quickly after the 'I Want To Be A Tampon' episode. That was masterful PR.

stepupandbecounted · 25/08/2021 16:56

Because Prince Charles is actually a really lovely person without a single bad bone in his body, and I say that as someone who has met him and I am afraid the same can no longer be said for H or M both of whom spill out bile continuously. I say that as a huge fan of the couple for years before they pulled the latest stunts and revealed the greedy and grasping side of their characters. I used to post on here how they should be able to live their lives and be free, but living your lives freely does not include trashing other people. I could not support them after that.

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 17:03

Those that think H&M should be taken seriously with their grand vision of themselves:

Do you think you'd lend equal support if a President of US son or daughter decided that actually they're really very important and should be heard.

Proceed to kickstart career by intimating and tapping nose that there will be access to "inside" info etc

Would that son or daughter receive such devoted support that they can do no wrong, or is it something peculiar to the RF?

Curious as to why willing to indulge such self-indulgent nonsense from would be gurus when I'm quite sure if Donald Trump's daughter and her husband set themselves up as would be spreaders of "layers of pain" etc - would you then be able to see what pompous twerps look like in action?

Roussette · 25/08/2021 17:05

I listen to Chelsea Clinton, she's fantastic

It was time not masterful PR. What was there to be “rehabilated” from? It was tasteless nonsense that was only ever intended for one person’s ears.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/08/2021 17:19

Short of creating an Act of Parliament to get rid of him I'm not sure they had much choice since he'd hardly go on his own
Like it or not (and I don't) he's the next in line and we're stuck with him, so some of us are just grateful his reign is likely to be short

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 17:23

Has Chelsea badmouthed her family has she gone on TV and run her family down whilst grandather dying, has she yet revealed a nauseating update on how "scared", she is etc. You've missed the point of the post entirely ........ Grin Grin

The actual point I made is: would any offer such level of support to someone that did what H&M did were they a President's child? I don't think that's a difficult concept at all.

Chelsea has not done any of things listed. So : if Chelsea had intimiated she had "inside" stories to tell and bad mouthed her parents to kickstart her career blah blah- read the post again if you really did miss the actual point I made.

Did Chelsea have a public wedding and then said it was a "spectacle" on and on, such entitled behaviour is never ending with H&M - maybe respond to the point made than pointing out someone you like that doesn't behave in any shape or form like an entitled twerp in the way H&M do.

Roussette · 25/08/2021 17:43

I do believe you have missed the point actually. You asked about a son or daughter of a politician. I replied.

And now you're being silly with those comparisons.

Of which I don't agree. It's just your take on things, you really dislike them... fine..... your opinion of course, but don't expect unanimous agreement on some of that silly rant about a couple who aren't funded by us, who don't live here, who don't affect us, is sounding increasingly odd.

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 18:10

no I didn't say politican I specifically said President as that is the nearest comparison - a Head of State. The comparison isn't remotely silly.

So someone else that can interpret the post maybe can answer.

KidneyBeans · 25/08/2021 18:14

So you don't think there's a difference in how elected politicians children should be treated compared to the RF?

You think Boris's kids should have equivalent resourcing and airtime at the Cambridge kids?

If not then why are you comparing?

Roussette · 25/08/2021 18:15

Ok child of a President. I meant President, not politician, a mistype.
Point taken that he is not a current President and she is the child of an EX President. I didn't know it mattered and honestly Marmalade I just threw it in as someone I rated.

Wish I hadn't now!

Marmaladeagain · 25/08/2021 18:18

would you support a serving Presiden'ts child making a career out of badmouthing their family and thinking they should make grand statements on political events etc. Grandfather dying etc - not sure what's so difficult to understand - would you think they're a great person. I think I know the answer. You wouldn't, who would Grin

Roussette · 25/08/2021 18:25

A President's child isn't remotely like a member of the royal family or the child of one of them.
I just don't know where to go with this comparison because it does not work.
I doubt we will hear of a President's father dying and attribute criticism to what one of their GC might say, this is all beyond me and my tiny brain to compute..
