Apparently the queen is considering taking legal action to stop the verbal attacks on the royal family.

@AnnunciataZ

Yes, they've been German for ages!Wink
That's not my point as you well know.
Marmaladeagain · 24/08/2021 15:44

nottodaybatman - people on MN aren't worked up though. That's falling for the old spin of "hate" and "vitriol" that gets regularly thrown at posters that don't fall for the self-promoting celebrities chasing huge wealth as anything other than tawdry.

Selling his own grandmother etc. Selling his mother's memory. Selling potential private information. Tawdry.

Just different standards of what people admire I guess. You think that's upstanding behaviour and shouldn't attract laughter and derision at the hypocricy of being "kind". Others do find that worth commenting on and don't buy into the H&M "product".

Everyone agress on Andrew (can't believe I'm saying it again). Everyone. Not everyone agrees on H&M - hence the threads. I have no idea why that's so difficult to grasp Grin

Harry is always going to be either the grandson, son or brother of an english Monarch

OK?

Ooops...

Harry is always going to be either the grandson, son or brother of a British monarch

There we go ... that's better.

My point is as above.

Roussette · 24/08/2021 15:53

people on MN aren't worked up though

That is the biggest lie I've seen in all the years I've been on here.

500+ threads about the couple. Probably 100 or more deleted threads. Thousands of deleted posts with vitriol about them. Posts that are deleted for a very good reason.

And people aren't worked up?
You're having a laugh

drivinmecrazy · 24/08/2021 16:17

roussette really? Your last post let you down. You're beginning to sound like those you criticise, surely beneath you!!
Not intended as a personal attack just surprised you gave in to name calling.
Who's to say who might be a new poster and who might have changed their name.
I've seen you call people out for the same thing (quite rightly btw).

drivinmecrazy · 24/08/2021 16:19

Oops sorry just seen that poster was deleted so apologies roussette 💐

Samcro · 24/08/2021 16:19

@drivinmecrazy maybe its because it gets tiresome.
these threads are open to anyone, yet time and time again Roussette is attacked, would you not end up getting pissed off?

Roussette · 24/08/2021 16:22

Not sure what I'm supposed to have done at all.

Apart from post like thousands of others do. Not sure what you mean at all in your post drivein but hey ho... apology accepted.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 24/08/2021 16:43
@BringBackThinEyebrows I don't think Sons of Anarchy and Eastenders is a good comparison(but nice you got my user name) they are totally different.
PH and PW are both princes. both members of the RF.
Does 'PW' mean Prince William? I haven't seen a mention of him on this thread. Or Prince Edward, Charles, George etc. There's been a hell of a lot of comments about Andrew, though.

First we had posters try their best to distract from this story about The Queen and Prince Harry by implying that the press are distracting from a Prince Andrew story. This turned out to be completely false- the UK are reporting all coverage on Prince Andrew.

Now you're suggesting Andrew should be linked to Harry on any thread about Harry because they're both Princes? I find it really grubby to try to force a link between Harry and alleged sex offender Andrew. Is there a link I'm not aware of?

nottodaybatman · 24/08/2021 16:44

@Marmaladeagain
I never said I admire them.

I have simply noted that people are very upset about things they have said that they claim are criminal and hurtful and when asked to quote them they are unable to provide specifics that are in any way out of the ordinary to things that other members of the RF have said.

Instead we are required to accept that mawkish statements and missteps are evidence of deeper evils and the only solution is PUNISHMENT.
And we have threads of people throwing around weird stories and potential misdeeds as evidence of crimes that must have PUNISHMENT.

I don't like or dislike them. But there is a very odd dynamic with people who claim to dislike them but follow their every move and are obsessed with them disappearing and needing to be punished.

They are celebrities but what other celebrity has an army of anti fans following their every move looking for evidence of wickedness. It is batshit. But people seem to take comfort in this activity but as an observer it's weird.

nottodaybatman · 24/08/2021 16:54

Or think of this another way. For those who know that H&M are terrible people doing terrible things etc.

Have you ever followed another celebrity or politician or performer which you hate and know to be a terrible person?
Have you read comments or joined multiple threads, listened to podcasts, radio shows and tv segments in which people have discussed their wickedness and potential future wickedness? Have you done this for years?

Are H&M uniquely terrible? Or is everyone else just better? And if it is so obvious that they are liars and criminals - why haven't they been arrested?

You can still not like them, but to deny that the anti fandom of this couple are unique I struggle with.

Samcro · 24/08/2021 16:55

@BringBackThinEyebrows it was a typo, meant PA not PW

nottodaybatboy, I wonder about it too. I remember their wedding which was so beautiful and they were so obviously in love. The cynic in me at that time wondered how long it would take the media to turn against them but I really hoped that wouldn't happen.

They've done nothing wrong at all and strike me, as a mere onlooker with no inside information, as a pleasant, well meaning couple who now have two little children as their priority. They are feeling their way at the moment but will eventually find their niche, or separate niche for each. Good luck to them, I hope they are happy.

Marmaladeagain · 24/08/2021 17:30

nottodaybatman - you seem to have missed the pompous Malviolio style deluded self-belief - they're funny.

Hypocricy is what makes H&M funny - Bono used to receive lots of grief himself - but he realised and stopped making grand announcements about what others should be doing.

H&M's generate interest akin to a preacher in US spouting peace and love and we in the UK see through it and know it's just a money making scheme. The fact the preacher thinks he could just get away with it if the pesky UK people would stop discussing him on a UK forum is funny. What we say or think has no impact on whether the preacher continues on his merry way with his merry audience that buy into the preacher's story.

Admittedly it's a dwindling audience - due to H&M's own actions of speaking on TV about Harry's family whilst fuming at M's family for speaking to press etc (very funny, I'm sure you must see).

So wouldn't worry yourself about why people on MN discuss H&M.

Wheretoeattweenandteen · 24/08/2021 17:33

Marmalade "selling his own grandmother"

What did his granny say do when faced with a baying public and an 11 year old who had suddenly lost him mum in the most gruesome public and tragic way.
. Maybe she "sold" him?

nottodaybatman · 24/08/2021 17:35

My question was not just limited to MN it was a general question.

@Marmaladeagain
Are you aware of any of other celebrity anti fandoms?

nottodaybatman · 24/08/2021 17:45

It's not about a discussion on MN

It's about obsessive following and reading up on people that are apparently loathed.

People may well have thought Bono was a prat but I am not aware of there being multiple threads on MN about his activity or potential next terrible deed. Or twitter accounts dedicated to pointing out the error of his ways. Or a special tab on the DM so it is easier to find the next ridiculous thing he has done.

It is very unusual and in my mind unique.
Do you participate in other anti fandoms?

Confiscatedpopit · 24/08/2021 17:48

Apologies as I’ve not read the full thread- but if this is true then good for her!
