False title. Of course it is

@SupermanWithTheGreyHair

But I was not sleeping with the staff on family holidays.

I would have been if they looked like Patrick Swayze though. 🤣

Urgh no. Especially not if they looked like him.

There's a deleted scene?!?

Yes. Make sure you’re not about to eat though.

Clearly something wrong with you. Wink

Or, indeed you. Wink

Here you go. But don't say we didn't warn you...

Another one who enjoyed it when it came out - but looking back think PS was a right sleazebag!

Grin

Who is your type then?

In the eighties? Rob Lowe and John Taylor, mostly. The prettier end of the scale. Grin
SnoopyLights · 21/08/2021 12:25

No.

The best film of all time is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

You were close though as they both star Jennifer Grey.

I like this re-enactment of the scene in the lake though.

FBDO got picked apart and slated on here recently. because basically Ferris is a massive bully to Cameron.

John Taylor, not for me. But Rob Lowe is quite nice. Jon Bon Jovi is my fave, 80s version of him or now, I’m not fussed. 😂 Is he ‘pretty’?

OytheBumbler · 21/08/2021 12:29

I can't watch the deleted without verifying my age with a credit card! Confused
Is it that good bad?

Aurorie11 · 21/08/2021 12:30

Not sure Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze hated each other wasn't that Richard Gere and Debra Winger in An Officer and a Gentleman?

Really? 😂 It’s both good and bad. Just type it into youtube.

I’m sure I read that PS and JG didn’t get along at all but I’d have to Google.
LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 21/08/2021 12:32

Grey and Swayze had acted together in 'Red Dawn' a couple of years earlier and had not got on, certainly. They came to an understanding on 'DD' but weren't best pals. I believe things thawed later on and they were quite friendly.

Sparklingbrook · 21/08/2021 12:35

I thought it might have been because Swayze was a trained dancer and Grey wasn't so there was frustration there.

RaraRachael · 21/08/2021 12:42

I hate Dirty Dancing - it's completely naff and can never understand its enduring appeal.

It's on a par with Mamma Mia.

Sparklingbrook · 21/08/2021 12:45

I think Mamma Mia isn't pretending to be a decent film though. It's cheesy and the singing is awful and all a bit of a laugh.

I always thought Dirty Dancing was trying to be a decent film.

SupermanWithTheGreyHair · 21/08/2021 12:46

I thought it might have been because Swayze was a trained dancer and Grey wasn't so there was frustration there.

I read that somewhere. And also that he thought she was too emotional and a bit silly.

SupermanWithTheGreyHair · 21/08/2021 12:48

I’ve never watched Mamma Mia, not sure why.

Sparklingbrook · 21/08/2021 12:50

Give it a go. It's horrible when they keep bursting into song and the male actors cannot sing at all. Everyone weeps over the 'Slipping through my Fingers' song, but not sure why and I'd never even heard it before.

Dominic Cooper is quite easy on the eye though and the scenery is nice...

LedTasso · 21/08/2021 12:56

There is a reason people still love this film 35 years later. I think some of you might enjoy being contrary! I love it Blush

SupermanWithTheGreyHair · 21/08/2021 12:59

I shall give it a try. I think it’s on Netflix, I’ve almost watched it a few times and like a few of the actors so really not sure why I haven’t. I hated La la land so hoping it’s not as bad as that.
