Handful of walnut halves per person
Large celery stick per person
1 can tuna per 2 persons (cheese would work too)
Handful dried sultana/cranberry/dried cherry mix per 2 persons
1 or 2 spring onions per person
juice from half a lemon per 2 persons
virgin olive oil to taste (tablespoon each, say)

Crumble walnuts roughly
Finely chop celery and spring onion.
Drain tuna.
Throw all ingredients together.
Stir well.
Eat.

I like to have a jacket spud with stews and casseroles.
My kids were always partial to beans, cheese and franks.

sleepykits · 19/08/2021 20:07

Some spudulike knowledge for you...

We never used to call "cheese" when shouting back orders - it was always EXTRA. So, "coleslaw extra" or "egg extra". On rare occasions "extra EXTRA"

@LadyLolaRuben

Beans and coleslaw
I read that as beans and chocolate... Envy (not envy)

Pile of cheese on the potato, and some coleslaw on the side for me!

bobandhisburgers · 19/08/2021 20:11

Cheese, beans, fried red onions, lardons. But in multiple layers. And LASHINGS of real butter!!

JammyDozen · 19/08/2021 20:12

A mountain of egg mayo. Preferably at least as much in volume as the potato and better to chop your own eggs (superfine as someone else mentioned) and mix with mayo than risk something watery from the supermarket. Jacket potato deserves only the best.

Or from spudulike served with floppy garlic bread. Has it really gone?!

It's so hard to get a decent baked potato out these days.
Cheese Savoury- or if from the shop near the office - half cheese savoury and half chicken and bacon. Even the small portion weighed a tonne and set me to sleep for the afternoon.

@Galassia

Butter, strong cheddar and sliced raw onion.
This sound lush
17caterpillars1mouse · 19/08/2021 20:14

Cottage cheese and Branston pickle

BirdyBee · 19/08/2021 20:16

Bbq pulled pork, sour cream with chives and cheese and lots of butter

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 19/08/2021 20:22

Tuna mayo and corn.

NeverButterkist · 19/08/2021 20:25

Bacon bits, leeks and mushrooms softened in a frying pan. Served in the potato with grated cheese sprinkled on the top.

LimberlostLark · 19/08/2021 20:26

Butter. Cheese. Sweetcorn.

Mmmmm

goingtotown · 19/08/2021 20:28

Prawns with mayo & plenty of black pepper.

Yarnandneedles · 19/08/2021 20:29

Baked beans (hot), tuna mayonnaise and coleslaw. A student staple for me years ago. Tasty and very filling.

Belledan1 · 19/08/2021 20:32

Spag bog mince without the spag! With a bit cheese on top.

rc22 · 19/08/2021 20:37

Cheese and beans or cheese and coleslaw.

Lottle · 19/08/2021 20:38

I once asked DH for either cheese and beans or cheese and coleslaw at a spud u like place.

He came back with beans and coleslaw.

This was not a good day.

Jent13c · 19/08/2021 20:39

Haggis and cheese

MuchTooTired · 19/08/2021 20:41

Chicken and bacon mayo for me!

Wallabyone · 19/08/2021 20:45

@AncientandFabulous Grin Love it there!

LadyCarolineDester · 19/08/2021 20:48

Still can’t read Spudulike without pronouncing it Spa-doo-lik-ay in my head.

BonnyBarb · 19/08/2021 20:49

Tuna mayonnaise, cheese, beans, Coleslaw

Window1 · 19/08/2021 20:59

Now THIS is a thread.

Cheese and beans with salad and coleslaw on the side. Simple, but effective and I never have this as always forget about jacket potatoes.

Loads of the other suggestions are also very good too and I wonder if I should commit to a week of jackets with a different filling each night.

LimpLettice · 19/08/2021 21:03

Creamy blue cheese and garlic mushrooms.

Tuna mayo with diced celery and stupidly strong cheddar.

Smoked mackerel, cream cheese and cheddar, grilled until oozy, bubbly, tongue melting lava.

Used to have garlic chicken mayo from a teeny cafe in Maidstone, piled high over a tonne of salty butter. Must try and replicate when not dieting, it was so good.
