Where is the integrity of the queen deliberately asking to be exempt from the 2010 Equality Act? Where is the integrity in paying the legal costs for Andrew and inviting him on holiday and keeping him close so legal papers cannot be served?

In terms of PA or anyone else for that matter the girls where aged from 13/14. Are we now going to argue that all these men lacked the intellectual curiosity and decency to wonder why there large numbers of female children around Epstein? That all these girls were employees... they looked like and were children. Why did none of the guests show any concern for their welfare for even a nanosecond?

And once more with feeling for those in the back. Trafficked victims of ANY age cannot consent. Therefore if you are a middle aged gentleman about town keen to sleep with very very young but legal non trafficked women, it would be prudent to ask some fairly pointed questions before having sex with girls you do not know. But this never happened because these entitled sleazy men didn't give a shit.

KillingMeDeftly · 20/08/2021 16:37

If she was trafficked then her age, and whether Andrew knew or not, is irrelevant. As is where the act took place - sex with a trafficked woman is illegal in the U.K. too. Why are people trying to minimise his behaviour?

KillingMeDeftly · 20/08/2021 16:38

Sorry, cross-posted with @nottodaybatman there, who's made the point more eloquently.

Sex with a trafficked woman was not illegal when the alleged sex took place. The acts making it illegal were passed in 2003/2004, and the alleged offences took place in 2001.

Don’t let the law get in the way of a good lynch mob.

I am not impressed by PA and would not be unhappy were he to serve time if found guilty after a FAIR trial.

AnnunciataZ · 20/08/2021 16:51

This is a civil case so I don't think he's actually going on trial.

TheReluctantPhoenix · 20/08/2021 16:54

@AnnunciataZ,

You are right but, in a lot of people’s minds, if the civil case finds against him, assuming he chooses to defend himself, most will consider him guilty.

Surprised an ambitious DA has not pursued the criminal case more aggressively.

PostMenPatWithACat · 20/08/2021 16:56

Eloquently put @TheReluctantPhoenix.

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 16:59

There were 3 locations referenced by virginia
New York
Epstein's private island
London

Sex with a minor child under 18 is a crime in New York.

All of the men who sought out these children and took advantage of them are revolting. These were girls away from their parents engaging in sexual activity with much older men, the men could have asked and shown some concern. These girls are and were victims.

Are we talking the UK or US here? She was a minor in New York when he’s alleged to have had sex with here there.

Roussette · 20/08/2021 17:02

A lynch mob. My God. Is that what you call it

There are many many laws covering sex trafficking that have been in force far longer than those dates. The incidents with PA took place in 2001.
There were laws in place on sex trafficking before then. It comes under Anti Trafficking laws.

So if there wasn't a law covering it at the time, I presume it was OK?

KillingMeDeftly · 20/08/2021 17:04

I stand corrected on U.K. law but a lynch mob? Really? Do you know the history behind the term?

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 17:07

Why are people seeking loopholes for older men to have sex with abused women and girls?
@Roussette very good question, if it isn't illegal we should all shut up? Are our standards that low? Also let us not forget we paid for the flights, expenses and security officers to keep PA safe while he maintained his friendship.

DuncinToffee · 20/08/2021 17:09

This case comes under the New York Child Victims Act

TheReluctantPhoenix · 20/08/2021 17:12

@roussette,

Looking at London alone, PA is invited out to a club by his 'mate', where he is introduced to a pretty young girl. Why on earth would he suspect she was trafficked? I don't think he was ever known as a fine intellect or someone overly analytical.

You are now saying that he should have anticipated the trafficking laws and grilled her about where she came from and how voluntary it was.

I am not going further down this road, as I don't think he is an especially fine example of humanity, although I personally think his dealings with Nazarbayev were more serious in terms of a scandal.

And, if he had sex with a minor in NY, let the NY DA make a case in a court room and find him guilty. And, if he is found guilty, he should serve (at least) the same time as anyone else who did the same.

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 17:23

Oh diddums middle aged men who want to have sex with strangers who may or may not be children or trafficked are having to ask their prospective victims (partners) a few basic questions.
The indignity!

Roussette · 20/08/2021 17:28

Looking at London alone, PA is invited out to a club by his 'mate', where he is introduced to a pretty young girl. Why on earth would he suspect she was trafficked?

Do you know this was the case or are you thinking of the very best scenario that would make this OK?

You are now saying that he should have anticipated the trafficking laws and grilled her about where she came from and how voluntary it was

Where have I said that?
I haven't. You said there were no laws in place for sex trafficking. I disagreed.

And there is footage out there, of him holding the door open of Epstein's NY apartment and a young girl has run out after Epstein to give him something and I am not joking when I say she looks about 13. PA peers out checking for cameras, and to say he thought they were just staff is pathetic.

nottodaybatman
And I read somewhere (no idea how true it is... but nothing surprises me) that the timesheets for the Protection Officers have been destroyed particularly in relation to Pizza Express. Apparently one of his security officers who has left employ, applied for them and was told that.

Roussette · 20/08/2021 17:30

That should read Epstein's NY Mansion. It wasn't an apartment!

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 18:07

But now we have come full circle

If poor PA is just a bit thick and naive but didn't have sex with anyone anywhere

We are still left with the fact that he didn't cooperate with the FBI when he said he would and the british media went on the attack against Virginia who was one of Epstein's victims. The media has also coordinated downplaying the story too - why?

Why not help take down a notorious paedophile?
Why would the media close ranks for an innocent man who has done nothing wrong?
Why would the media attack one of Epstein's victims in 2021?

Roussette · 20/08/2021 18:33

On the different threads about PA which have been very sparse, I've said a couple of times before...

If there is nothing in it, he's done nothing wrong whatsoever, why on earth wouldn't you co-operate, clear your name and then you could be accepted back in to royal duties which obviously he is so desperate for.

This way he is a pariah. And I know certain posters will say he's been judged unfairly, and we're a lynch mob.... well... co-operate then and put help the investigators and yourself at the same time.

I do appreciate that coming up against the NY judicial system is daunting but he will have the very best legal advice in the country if not the world.

Apparently one of the legal team is an expert in people accused of paedophilia.

KidneyBeans · 20/08/2021 19:01

@PostMenPatWithACat

I didn't say it didn't happen but neither have any charges been upheld in court - only so far in the press and I don't think that counts.

One could say, taking into account the young lady's provenance that she did jolly well not to become a drug addicted hooker on a downward spiral to death or jail. There's no argument that Epstein was other than heinous however.

Christ that post is so full of classism, misogyny and victim blaming it's hard to know where to start.

@PostMenPatWithACat
at worst he had sex with a above the age of consent who consented.

You think that's the worst case scenario for an underage girl taken abroad by a convicted sex offender and paraded around at parties with wealthy businessmen who has witness testimony of being assaulted?

You're either spectacularly naive or deliberately ignorant.

KidneyBeans · 20/08/2021 19:05

@PostMenPatWithACat

Eloquently put *@TheReluctantPhoenix*.
Yes don't let the fact that it's factually incorrect and also equates critique of a public figure associating with convicted sex offender to white supremacists murdering black people.

After all what's a bit of casual racism when you've already ticked the misogyny and classism boxes on the bingo card eh?

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 19:57

@KidneyBeans well that is that is left to justify the current situation.

The problem with a hereditary monarchy is that you cannot fire someone like PA. If you want the Q, you get tampon charlie, the weird cousin selling access to the Russians, Mark Phillip's flogging milk in China and breaking quarantine to meet up with mates, Fergie and all the rest.

Not letting PA play dress up and join a parade next year is not a punishment for adults

They are all grifting to some extent with subsidised housing, debts being written off, bad behaviour minimised and ignored.

OverByYer · 20/08/2021 20:07

Just catching up.
Saddened to see PA apologists and victim blaming.

If PA was completely innocent he’d co-operate. Wouldn’t you want to clear your name if you knew you had done nothing wrong?
He will forever have this hanging over him.

Roussette · 20/08/2021 20:09

@nottodaybatman

That last post of yours made me laugh but I am Wine

It's all so peculiar isn't it.

I actually think the british public are brainwashed. We know no different. We are spoon fed a diet a of royalty to exalt.

But.... believe it or not...I was actualy quite the royalist many years ago, I posted on forums supporting them but some actions and events have happened to turn me 360degrees.

Everyone can change their mind and I have.

I just dont feel the same now.

nottodaybatman · 20/08/2021 20:10

And even the queen is no prize
She protecting PA, paying his legal bills and letting him hide at balmoral. She picks over legislation to boost her own wealth and opt out of anything she finds tedious like environmental legislation and laws preventing race and sex discrimination.

The only way to be a staunch true believer royalist is to be a bit dim or just comfortable with misogyny, racism and mediocrity
