Always find this topic fascinatingGrin
I’ll start- I was on a documentary when my son was a baby and in hospital.
Bonus points to anyone who has links to similar threads as I can’t be the only one to ask this question?!

I was on Singing in the Shower on Wacaday with Timmy Mallet in around 1985 and I was also on Emu's Pink Windmill Show.
Fast forward a bit and I was on Supermarket Sweep (won!)
I've also been an extra in Casualty, Emmerdale and Peak Practice and I was also on the news when I was a play with a regional theatre - it was a "story" and I had cameras following me for a few weeks and then they made a feature of it on the news.

GrimDamnFanjo · 17/08/2021 00:33

This Morning. Interviewed by Phil and Fern.

NotMyCat · 17/08/2021 01:18

999 what's your emergency
Local news programme about shielding

When I was a kid I was in the audience (in good seats) for Get Set for Summer (Swap Shop’s summer replacement) and Beat The Teacher. Will be on again at the end of the month as we were first on scene at an emergency and the air ambulance turned up with a cameraman.

The worst was when the office next to us got sick of us smoking outside their window so nailed an open coffin to the wall and labelled it “smoking area”. Me and a colleague went out for a fag and realised that a guy from Granada Reports had walked up from the old studios down the road and was filming us. Didn’t think anything of it until everyone I knew saw it, including a family member who I’d told I’d given up. The same family member also saw me walking past Lords cricket ground smoking during a segment on the news filmed the night before the Ashes started.

I've had quite a prominent role in a programme like 24 Hours in A+E.
Have been in it alot and get recognised wherever I go. Luckily dc are used to it now.

Patients come in and know me just from watching me on the show.

I was once sunbathing in Greece and a really fit bloke came to chat with me. I was lying there with my fat hanging out cringing 😬

My DF phones to tell me to stick the local news, they were doing a section about the local folk festival, there I was on the TV, being interviewed about the bands appearing. I was VERY drunk 😵

I recorded an edition of The Chase which is yet to air. I understand exactly what you mean @Cherryana as being in the studio is completely different to shouting out the answers from the safety of your sofa. It's great when you know the answers but it's where there's doubt that you fear looking silly if you get it wrong, so you pass instead of guessing. Let's be honest - most contestants go home empty-handed except for a memory.

There's the exciting build-up, make-up, wardrobe, practice run through in the green room, loads of rules and regulations read out to you, breakfast and coffee provided by the lovely back room staff who treat you royally. The 'lights, camera, action' do indeed make it real and when you are guided to the studio there's the slight dread of 'lambs to the slaughter.' However, it was an enjoyable experience and I'd do it again - just waiting for Jeremy Clarkson to ring me back! Ha ha.

I was hanging out in the bar on TFI Friday in 1996 and my daughter and I were extras in an episode of Midsummer Murders in about 2002/3.

DinosApple · 17/08/2021 10:00

I've recently been filmed in the background for something that will be aired in the autumn. I'm hoping I make it through to the actual program!

mysterybag · 17/08/2021 14:02

I was in the audience for question time on my birthday about 15 years when it was being filmed in Edinburgh and you can see me nodding sagely and clapping when Alec Salmond said something. I was also on a mid morning itv discussion show like Robert Kilroy Silk's one except it was John Stapleton hosting it. Literally the entire audience were students and pensioners. My mate was an estate agent on property ladder who valued the property after all the work was completed.

feelingdizzy · 17/08/2021 14:30

I was on a documentary series about island living . Single parent who moved there with my kids, new life in the country kind of programme .

I've remembered another one: I was in the front row of the audience in Graham Norton's show a long time ago (back when it was good). Brendon Fraser was one of his guests that night who I had a major crush on at the time 🥴 Graham walked about the audience and asked me to add my voice to Venus William hitting a ball at Wimbledon- he said he wanted deep, sensual grunts. I refused so he asked the chap sitting next to me to do it instead.

Auntienumber8 · 19/08/2021 00:34

I was interviewed regarding public service closures and also spoke on behalf of a charity. I was also interviewed on radio regarding public service issues. DH has been on TV as a science expert, he was on Good morning once and has done dozens of radio interviews and is often in national papers giving scientific advice. So not fun stuff.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 19/08/2021 01:11

I was thinking oh never been on TV, then remembered I have! I was filmed at Live at the Apollo. My date was picked on and they kept it in 😂

Furries · 19/08/2021 02:52

In the audience of Record Breakers. Can’t remember if it was via school or brownies. But I can definitely remember what dress I wore that day.

AirEngland · 19/08/2021 02:55

A recording of me eating a sandwich at Glastonbury was on the BBC news back in the 90s. I remember noticing that I was being filmed and glaring at the camera then putting my head down/facing away as much as possible. It was on a news report about 2 weeks after Glastonbury. My friend who was working in Dixon’s at the time said he was with a customer and suddenly my pissed off face appeared on 30 TVs.

Ive had the opportunity to be on telly quite a few times (interviews about things/asked to be in the background of shots etc) but I can’t think of anything worse!
