Always find this topic fascinatingGrin
I’ll start- I was on a documentary when my son was a baby and in hospital.
Bonus points to anyone who has links to similar threads as I can’t be the only one to ask this question?!

I could have been on One Born Every Minute.

They were filming around the time youngest DD was due, was tempted but... ex was not a nice guy, I'm so glad I didn't do it!

As it turned out, she was born in the car park outside. I still think back on just how great an episode it would have made. My moment of fame!!

They gave me a card and teddy to congratulate us, I could almost taste the regret from them they couldn't air it Grin

I'd hate to watch it back and see him these days, but still wish in some ways we could have been different and had it captured.

Just in my own brain now!

hashbrownsandwich · 16/08/2021 22:03

I was on a programme called Bad Boyfriend Club with Peter Andre. I divorced my now exH shortly after filming.

AChickenCalledDaal · 16/08/2021 22:07

Half a verse of Thine Be the Glory on Songs of Praise. I think I was the token enthusiastic-looking teenager. It was the 1980s and I had enormous hair and a big smile.

I also asked a question on Any Questions when it was recorded at my kids school. It went out live and it was fascinating to discover which of my friends and family were listening.

MissDollyMix · 16/08/2021 22:12

We were on the local bbc news during the last lockdown. The presenter just randomly knocked on our door one morning and asked if we wanted to be featured on a ‘how families are coping during lockdown’ interview. He was a lovely guy, spent ages filming with us, even the kids were interviewed. Was very surreal seeing it back on television!

MissDollyMix · 16/08/2021 22:13

DD was also featured on channel 5 news a few years ago when they were running a feature about nurseries…

MrsDThomas · 16/08/2021 22:21

Lots of times. Singing on Welsh tv, extra on tv, interviewed on a few thing for the news.

Cam001 · 16/08/2021 22:23

In the 70s I was on Midlands Today in a section with Phil Drabble (anyone remember him?). I was only about 14 and we were filmed for a section about some local woods (we were filmed using a hygrometer and measuring the height of trees) and Phil planted a tree, and I got to try caviar for the first (and last) time at the swanky reception. I've also been in the background on the antiques road show twice. The most recent one at Compton Verney I was on loads (and so was our dog) and had lots of mocking texts from friends when it aired. Oh, and also sang with a choir for a Children In Need night about 4 years ago. It was really weird as we hung around doing nothing and then had to act like we were in the middle of a party when the studio cut to our area. Once the cameras stopped rolling we just shut up and hung around again.

eddiemairswife · 16/08/2021 22:24

Ask the Family with Robert Robinson. We were that year's champions. I'm looking at the prize as I am typing.

Slub · 16/08/2021 22:28

Yes as a 10 year old playing clarinet for The Queen and as an adult guest on This Morning (sans clarinet) 3 years ago

PermanentTemporary · 16/08/2021 22:28

Loving all of these. Yes am placemaking - certainly never on TV myself.

TedMullins · 16/08/2021 22:29

Yes I was a talking head on one of those channel 5 ‘50 best celebrity moments’ type programmes. It wasn’t a really trashy one it was about a specific celebrity who died and their best bits

Slub · 16/08/2021 22:30

Oh also on tv when Tour de France was in our county

LemonPepperOrder · 16/08/2021 22:31

I've been in the audience of a politics show about 20 years ago, and also had my drawing shown on the TV:am weather slot as a child (does that count? Grin)

ReginaaPhalange · 16/08/2021 22:31

I was on a holiday tv show when I was 8. It was called either was it good for you, or how was it for you (I can't remember). John Leslie was the host and he and his crew filmed us for 2 days in Florida :) I was also on the opening credits every week for the show :)

VienneseWhirligig · 16/08/2021 22:33

I took part in a BBC documentary filmed over 12 months about public sector cuts and the recession.

justaweeone · 16/08/2021 22:33

I was in an advert in the late 70's in Taiwan

Chimchar · 16/08/2021 22:36

I was in the audience of Jim'll fix it. 😳
We went on a school trip to watch it being filmed. The kid who was getting the surprise was sitting in front of me and so I got on the tele.

I was wearing my best clothes and had my hair crimped especially.

Also did some extra work as a teen. Never saw myself on tele though.

Beebumble2 · 16/08/2021 22:36

I was in an episode of What’s Inside with Floella Benjamin, in the 80s.
It looked like she filmed with us, but in fact she wasn’t there on our day of filming.

Yoksha · 16/08/2021 22:40

Yes. Songs of Praise. Twice. Xmas special, filmed same time as summer show. Bizarre.

VeganVeal · 16/08/2021 22:42

I was on Coronation Street for a number of years, but I dont like to talk about it

HollowTalk · 16/08/2021 22:48

@Cherryana

Yes I lost on a game show. And on mumsnet they were talking about me and one person said I was so thick. I am not thick. It's actually much harder that when you are sat at home - the lights, the audience its a massive adrenaline rush.
Aargh that's horrible! Did you manage to keep quiet?
TheOneTheOnlyPedroPony · 16/08/2021 22:50

I was on a local news article about hairdressers being turned into polling stations. My hairdresser messaged me and asked if I wanted to bring my appt forward and when I arrived she casually mentioned a news crew would be arriving. I was sat having my hair dyed whilst the reporter talked over the segment then was in the background whilst he interviewed her. I had to stare at my phone and block it out so I didn't laugh. If you are reading this AU I forgive you Grin

Fuckinellitsme · 16/08/2021 22:50

Loads, in the the early 90s. I was a 'vampire' - basically a goth, I had fangs grafted onto my teeth and everything. I went on television shows saying I drank blood (I didn't, I'm as squeamish as all fuck in real life) and slept in a coffin. It was brilliant. I went on (among others) Good Morning With Anne & Nick to review The Addams Family film, The Big Breakfast, London Tonight (lots of times), Eurotrash... Best one was going to Belfast to go on The Kelly Show - not sure how well known it is or if it's still a thing. They flew me out first class (first time I'd been on a plane), I stayed at a lovely hotel and was on with Pat from EastEnders and Audrey from Coronation Street. We were staying at the same hotel and got absolutely shitfaced in the bar after, I didn't get to bed until 4am. They were lovely. All that AND I got paid!

I was in lots of newspapers and magazines too. I was asked for my autograph a couple of times which was surreal!

Gem176 · 16/08/2021 22:51

As a child in the mid 90s some programme visited a local rare breeds farm and our class were invited along to go round with them. Attacked by a goat on camera 😳 I'm 99% sure the presenter was Chris Choi but there is a niggling doubt that it may actually have been John Leslie??
