I’ll start- I was on a documentary when my son was a baby and in hospital.
Bonus points to anyone who has links to similar threads as I can’t be the only one to ask this question?!

I've been on ITV and BBC news twice. Once when I was 14 (I took my pet to school, points for guessing the pet), the other time when meeting an MP in relation to the job I do
Longdistance · 16/08/2021 21:04

@Cherryana don’t worry too much, you have more balls than me. I’d love to go on a game show. A friend mine went on the Chaser against the Dark destroyer and she went through to the end, but didn’t win anything with her team. Has put me off as I want to make a point, but don’t have the balls Blush

clartymare · 16/08/2021 21:06
@clartymare was it a nice night though, that’s all that countsWink
It really was. Friend is a real gent and I got to meet some very famous people and almost managed to not act like a complete moron. Almost. And I met DH the same night, so it all worked out quite well...

OneFootintheRave · 16/08/2021 21:06

@Hellotoallmyfans - was the show "This Life"? Just a guess Grin

Vicliz24 · 16/08/2021 21:07

I was in an episode of Boon in the early nineties. They needed extras of mums and kids and our drop in centre members were chosen. I was actually pulled out of the crowd with my DC and we were clearly visible in close up for a few brief seconds.

Galassia · 16/08/2021 21:08

Panorama in the 80s. They were making a programme about the latest technology used in the financial sector.

They asked me to pull my hair from the back so that it hung down either side as my blouse was apparently sheer and you could see my bra!

clartymare · 16/08/2021 21:08

@Hellotoallmyfans okay I really want to know the tv show now!

DingoDollar · 16/08/2021 21:10

Very occasionally been on the news if they need a spokesperson for quite a niche thing (outing so won't say). All of 20 seconds each time.

Got excited a few times hearing "BBC" to then realise it's radio.

Also held a big cheque on Children in Need outside Television Centre yonks ago.

Ladyrattles · 16/08/2021 21:10

About 40 years ago my late mother won a radio treasure hunt. You had to solve really hard clues over many days and then find a key in an actual location. My mum didn't want to appear on tv so sent in 10yr old me. The moment the red light went on the camera I lost the power of speech and couldn't answer any of the presenter's questions. I was mortified when it aired as my school friends saw it. My mum was miffed as I picked the lock box that had the token prize and not the jackbox.

CuteOrangeElephant · 16/08/2021 21:12

I've been on Mastermind. Missed the second round by a whisker!

Lifeispassingby · 16/08/2021 21:14

I was in a reconstruction for crime watch too!! I didn’t feature for long but was there all day, filming for a murder that happened next to our school grounds in February when it was June and we had to wear winter clothes and we were boiling! X

Hassled · 16/08/2021 21:16

I was the shiny, sweaty, harassed-looking woman asking a question from the audience on a live politics show once. It turns out way more people watch niche TV on a Sunday morning than you'd ever imagine - so many people I know saw me rattling off my question and then nodding in response like a demented puppet.

lovemenomore · 16/08/2021 21:19

I was a 'presenter' on Why Dont You? Bank in the early 90's I was party if the Birmingham 'crew'. Had some amazing times & met some now famous fellow presenters.

You're all probably too young to remember it lol

feellikeanalien · 16/08/2021 21:21

I got interviewed by local news when our village was in danger of being flooded. DD and I were out for a walk when they approached us. They did all these different shots but when the programme was actually broadcast they didn't use half of them. My family thought it was hilarious because I'd told them about this big interview I'd done! Grin

36degrees · 16/08/2021 21:22

I've been in a Crimewatch reconstruction too - filmed at work. Back in the 90s my DPs knew I was okay at Glastonbury because they saw me in the crowd on a bloke's shoulders during the headline set on the Saturday night.
I've been a guest on a chat show and I'm media trained through work.

I've also been in the background on Coronation Street but that's mandatory for anyone from Manchester, everyone has to take a turn.

Natsel84 · 16/08/2021 21:23

I was on the TV earlier in the year , I was interviewed about the impact covid has had on my family.

Hellotoallmyfans · 16/08/2021 21:27

was the show "This Life"?

It was a bit of a poor mans version of that 😂😂😂. I've actually just googled it and it did have a second series which I find hard to believe - it was awful! "I" wasn't in the second series though and that's all that's available to view on YouTube for some reason sadly!

480Widdio · 16/08/2021 21:30

Yes when I was a Student Nurse in the 1960’s,Westminster Children’s Hospital (now apartments).

It was Christmas and a live show was broadcast from the ward, star guests were Gerry and The Pacemakers. My Mother and her friends watched it at home, she said she was fed up with seeing me by the end.One of the Staff Nurses was plastered in make-up and hair all bouffanted, the child she had on her lap cried and she had to leave, she was furious.

I have also been on Midlands Today in a news item,no idea what it was for!

lovemenomore · 16/08/2021 21:33

@GeorgieFlame

It was a TV in the opening scenes & there was a kid kinda beside it looking in (I think - I'm bloody old now!)Grin

God, I SO wanted to be one of the kids on that show - I watched it every day in the summer holidays! Remember the song?

"Whyyyy Don't You?
Whyyyy don't you?
Just switch off your television set and do something less boring instead?" 🎵
