Always find this topic fascinatingGrin
I’ll start- I was on a documentary when my son was a baby and in hospital.
Bonus points to anyone who has links to similar threads as I can’t be the only one to ask this question?!

I was interviewed by Nick Knowles on City Hospital as an early teen!

ninecoronas · 16/08/2021 22:57

A lot of people saw my friend and I looking drunk and bosomy in the crowd at a test match at Edgbaston, had I known I would have tried to look more decorous.

Prior to that I intentionally appeared on Look North around 1988 as the "hilarious" kid shouting "hiya mum!" while a long suffering local news crew tried to get a piece to camera in the can. Forgot my mum would actually be watching later and got quite a bollocking Grin

Starstar7 · 16/08/2021 23:02

@mrsbitaly

Yes songs of praise and gus honeybun 🤣🤣
Did you get a press of the magic button? Or just some bunny hops 😆
ginghamstarfish · 16/08/2021 23:04

Yes, was in a 'mini series' when I was living on another country, TV company was looking for someone to play the English character in it. İt was a crappy series, but I was flown to a seaside resort for a week's filming and had a great time. Went on to do a second one.

Rainbowdropz · 16/08/2021 23:08

I acted alongside Julie Walters in my teens on an ITV drama. I absolutely loved it and Julie Walters is such a treasure. As I was in my teens, I had to do schooling in-between filming and I had to be chaperoned by my dad daily. Julie motivated me to take acting more seriously, but then real life hit me and fears crept in so I played it "safe" and focused on my books.

One of my best memories. I remember walking back into my high school and everyone coming up to me cos I was on the telly, even the people who didn't like me haha.

Cherryana · 16/08/2021 23:11

@Longdistance it was a really fun experience. I think most people who go on game shows lose but don’t let that put you off!!

Buttybach · 16/08/2021 23:17

Yes I was on a regional transmission of children in need. I was in sea cadets and we pulled a field gun for 25 miles. We were sweating before we got to the studio with the hot lights!

I was also in the audience of the sally Jessey Raphael show in New York in the late 90s and again in 2000

Buttybach · 16/08/2021 23:19

Oh and I was in a documentary that's still on iPlayer that was filmed in my school.

LemonRoses · 16/08/2021 23:23

Sadly, yes.
Challenge Anneka, a few work things and It’s a knockout.

SkiingIsHeaven · 16/08/2021 23:26

No but I once had a client that said if he didn't pay me he would get me on The One Show, which would be good for business.

AlexaShutUp · 16/08/2021 23:30

Yes, quite a few times, but overseas. I was being interviewed, usually.

olidora63 · 16/08/2021 23:32

I was in Australia in 1988 and was interviewed because I was a nurse who had gone to Australia for better working conditions…it really was absolutely fantastic there 😊

Unfashionable · 16/08/2021 23:32

I was a contestant on Blockbusters with my friend Andy when we were in sixth form. We won!

Later, I was involved in politics for several years as a Labour activist in an important marginal seat. We got quite a bit of media attention during general election campaigns and I was interviewed on the news a few times.

Cocolapew · 16/08/2021 23:39

I was in a group of people interviewed for a Swedish tv program at Princes Lovesexy tour in London.
A few years ago I was filmed on a picket line and was on the local news.

OnlyJoking1 · 16/08/2021 23:51

I did a documentary about 30 years ago, my face was a shadow,
and my voice was changed.
It was about growing up in Childrens homes and the abuse that was commonplace.
I’ve not been able to track it down, I can’t remember what channel it was on.

MrsG30 · 16/08/2021 23:52

Yes, I have been interviewed on national tv a number of times as an industry expert.

LoLo2020 · 16/08/2021 23:52

I've been on BBC, ITV and Channel 5 over past 15 years or so and in relation to my hobby. Filming was always great fun! Grin

LemonPepperOrder · 16/08/2021 23:59

@OnlyJoking1 i am really sorrySad i did not for one second take into account the people who have appeared on tv for the awful things that happen in this world xx

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 17/08/2021 00:03

Yup. Was on my way home from hospital having just miscarried and some prick from the BBC filmed me, focusing on my now empty but somewhat swollen belly and tits as an introductory shot for a 6 o'clock news segment on how fat people were everywhere and costing the NHS money. Only found out when watching TV trying to not think about what had happened.

Oh, teenaged eating disorder, how strange to see you back again now of all times. Can't imagine how or why that happened...

Constellation89 · 17/08/2021 00:07

1996, singing with the school choir on Songs of Praise at Coventry Cathedral. We were told to ignore the cameras and not to look into them. It was boiling hot and humid and we were about to faint Grin

spiderlight · 17/08/2021 00:12

I was on the news in the 90s, talking about some research I knew nothing about, because the person who was meant to be interviewed had a panic attack and ran out of the building crying. Her supervisor rang the postgrads' office in a panic: muggins answered, and ten minutes later, after I'd had about a year of research explained to me, I was trying to sound clever in front of a full BBC film crew while panicking about my scruffy old jumper and unbrushed hair! I was so embarrassed that I couldn't bear to watch it, and then last year the bloody clip was shown on a different programme and my phone went mad with people going 'You're on the telly!' 😱

My DH has been on several documentaries and our dog has been on Morning Live twice, so they're both much bigger stars than me anyway!

cantpooinpeace · 17/08/2021 00:13

Jim'll Fix It in 1986 - no joke!

Used to be a great tale Confused

spiderlight · 17/08/2021 00:15

NeverDropYourMooncup - that's awful :( So sorry that happened.

Timeandtune · 17/08/2021 00:20

I was the Queen Mum’s body double on season 4 of “ The Crown”. It’s like an extra but with slightly higher rate of pay.

Silkiecats · 17/08/2021 00:21

A few times once on a chat show about education, once DS aged 5, dh and I appeared really close up especially DS on a programme about the city and in several political adverts and once after an election I walked back early hours and saw myself on TV. I also won a painting comp on Tiswas so my giraffe picture was on there. Thankfully my application to Jim ll Fix It was rejected.
