What happens next

Your report suggests the solicitor may have been in breach of the SRA’s standards or requirements. The allegation is serious enough to warrant further investigation.

As a result, we will allocate the matter to another Investigation Officer. I am sorry but I am not able to confirm who that officer will be at this time. That officer will look more closely at the matter and the information we hold about Mr Akunjee. They may contact you for further information and may make some enquiries of Mr Akunjee to obtain more evidence.

We may then decide to:

commence a formal investigation which could lead to sanctions or restrictions on the way a firm or individual operates; or
take no formal action at this time.
