I am holiday in west Wales and am very pleased not excited at all to report that we could see loads more stars than we can at home.

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 22:44

Have a lovely holiday IWandered

Silkiecat is lying on DH who is the in the bed. Silkiecat is also sneezing a bit and has now fallen asleep on DH and they are nose to nose.

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 22:47

Silkiecat just woke up stretched her paw into DHs cheek put her claws out to hang on to him and is wanting constant cuddles. She is falling asleep again and DH is hoping the claws go back in.

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 22:56

Dh was talking to me. Silkiecat got jealous and put her other paw over his mouth to stop him talking to me. It has slipped a bit here but this is her.

I'm currently positive with Covid and it just feels like a bad cold. I don't have any of the major symptoms (cough, fever or loss of taste/smell) Hope he tests negative!

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 23:21

Thanks Mouse Hope you feel better soon. He is like how you are with flu so not great but think will pass soon. Silkiecat is very pleased with him for spending so much time in bed, he is behaving very well.

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 23:40

Silkiecat has now licked dhs head and hair for about 3 minutes, she is now washing herself and collapsed on dhs pillow.

QuestionableMouse · 07/09/2021 23:43

A cat is a vital part of a full recovery!

That is a beautiful cat mouse.

Dh has his cat, she is flooped between us purring.

Oh she's beautiful too! She looks quite like my Big Cat

Silkiescatz · 07/09/2021 23:53

Your big cat is magnificient Mouse what breed is your cat? I wanted a long haired tabby but dh inisted on a short haired one 17 years ago though he has no idea why, he said he did not like cats but we could get Silkiecat and now they are inseperable.

QuestionableMouse · 08/09/2021 00:11

Just standard moggies! Sorry, domestic longhairs.

Thank you 😊

Sunbird24 · 08/09/2021 00:36

Loving the cat pics, wish I could have one but just not practical at the mo.

Champagneforeveryone · 08/09/2021 00:37

DS is back at college tomorrow and has cheerfully told me he has only two terms left before he's done for good Shock

I'm trying my best not to let him know what a difficult housing situation we are in as I want his sole focus to be on his A-levels. DH is looking at increasingly shittier houses and declaring them "quite nice" in a bid to stop ChampagneCat and at least one DDog being farmed off to Grandmas if we are forced to rent again.

On the plus side, it's a novelty to see him so engaged with such mundane tasks as house buying Wink

Champagneforeveryone · 08/09/2021 00:37

More mundanely, the dishwasher wants salt and rinse aid.

Silkiescatz · 08/09/2021 01:13

Dh has now moved to the single bed as Silkiecat has expanded in his pillow.

Our fridge has stopped working, its only 3 years old too, light is on but not refridgerating.

Hope you can get a cat before too long Sunbird and you find a house Champagne.

Lemonsandlemonade · 08/09/2021 03:09

@IWanderedLonely west Wales is lovely. Then again being Welsh myself I love Wales in general and think it’s such a beautiful country. Where about you?

We are in Pembrokeshire until Friday. Much busier than I thought it would be.

@Champagneforeveryone hope you get your house sorted.

The cat pics have made me think of my long departed cat she was such stunner.

mathanxiety · 08/09/2021 04:13

Dcat permitted me to tackle her dreadlocks with a hair scissors. I spent an hour and a half snipping carefully on Sunday and managed to cut them all off. She now looks like a cat who lost a fight with a lawnmower. She's her usual insouciant self though; nothing happened to the food supply.

Allergies got the better of me on Monday. After maxing out all the allergy meds we own, I resorted to sunglasses and a mask indoors, and it helped.

pollyglot · 08/09/2021 04:38

We have just come out of level 4, and now down to level 3 lockdown. I don't feel tempted to go out and do anything in particular, as I'm used to being at home, reading, gardening, lazing. After a lifetime of working, it's a treat.

pollyglot · 08/09/2021 04:40

Sorry, I meant level 2. It's raining, too.

HelenaJustina · 08/09/2021 06:34

@Champagneforeveryone really hope you get the house sorted, such a stressful time for it to happen, there is a real shortage of houses on the market at the moment. Don’t be a slave to your household appliances though, wait until the dishwasher asks really nicely.

@Silkiescatz fingers crossed for results today.

Today is my birthday, I foresee very little in the way of excitement due to work, DC evening activities and malaise due to the heat! DC1 made me a cake yesterday though.

Silkiescatz · 08/09/2021 06:53

Happy birthday Helena Cake

I have woken up to Silkiecat next to me on DHs pillow, she had flooped over the end with her paws and head and is now covering 3/4s of DHs pillow so he is in the single bed. She woke up briefly purred a lot then back to sleep.

DHs PCR test has not arrived yet, hoping it arrives today. DD has another lateral flow at school today, she is symptomless and not been close to DH though has been at parties for 4 days.

28C here and sunny today, beautiful sunrise over the thatched roof atm.

Silkiescatz · 08/09/2021 07:37

Silkiecat always comes to the bed with DH carrying her though I have to look away and pretend I don't see. She wanted to get to DH this morning and walked over me then was Shock this bed isn't level with the floor so I called Dhs stairlift services and he took her downstairs.

sueelleker · 08/09/2021 08:12

Had my niece come to visit us yesterday evening-she's moving back to Sussex from the Midlands, and is house-sitting for a friend until she moves into her new house next week. She also brought her spaniels, one of whom is related to our two. (We adopted the Mum when she was pregnant, kept one of the puppies, and my niece had one of the others. So hers is son/brother to our two)

Silkiescatz · 08/09/2021 08:53

Silkiecat got very confused on the bed with the sunlight and kept moving every minute and headbutting the duvet. I asked DH to carry her to him as the only person she lets carry her and he said he is too ill to be with Silkiecat Sad

Silkiecat is now calm and out of the sun on my bedside table. DH is asleep. DD went half asleep off to school for lateral flow test and school if negative. DS went to school but has lost his lunchcard for the millionth time and refused a packed lunch or drinks.
