What film do you want to watch, but daren’t because you know you will cry

I keep hearing good reviews about Haichi and I really want to watch it. But I also know I would probably spend most of the time sobbing my heart out, so I’ve avoided it.

The last animal lead film I think I watched was either Marley and Me or War Horse. Both left me in inconsolable tears Grin

I’m a wuss

Bryonyshcmyony · 06/08/2021 14:38

Manchester By The Sea

Absolutely heartwrenching

BirdyBee · 06/08/2021 14:42

Fluke

clarepetal · 06/08/2021 14:45

It's a Sin. Am still so gutted

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 06/08/2021 14:45

Yeah, seriously, don’t watch Hachi unless you can cope with full on sobbing. I’m crying just thinking about it (Ohhhh dogggiiieeee! 😢😭)

ScottyandWestie · 06/08/2021 14:46

The Father, newest one from Anthony Hopkins. The subject matter is a little too close to home currently and I cannot put myself through it.
I have stopped watching movies I know will make me cry recently due to health issues with family members. It's just too emotionally draining at the moment.

ninnynonny · 06/08/2021 14:47

The Green Mile and Goodnight Mr Tom. I know I really should..

Soubriquet · 06/08/2021 14:47

That’s the thing isn’t it? Sometimes it’s good to have sob fest, but these films can really leave you emotionally wringed out

The lovely bones - her family moving on
A little princess 1995 - she's begging her dad to remember her
Little women- when beth dies
Titanic
Reign over me

Sunshinedrops85 · 06/08/2021 14:53

Oh dear

Just the trailer for Hachi had me going. Never seen it before- I've always been too sensitive.

pheonixrebirth · 06/08/2021 14:57

The champ. When the kid is begging to stay with his dad and he says "I'll be good champ, I won't eat much champ"😭
And of course the end!😭😭😭😭😭

tunnocksreturns2019 · 06/08/2021 14:59

Shadowlands. Such a beautiful film but I can’t watch it since DH died.

RevolvingPivot · 06/08/2021 15:00

@suckingonchillidogs

Sophie's Choice
I watched that last night. A lot of it was in German with no subtitles. So was that iconic scene. I then found just that scene on YouTube with subtitles. 😔
ScantRegard · 06/08/2021 15:01

Terms of Endearment.

Specifically, of course, That Scene where her she tells her son who's angry and lashing out, that he's not to feel guilty in later life that he never told her he loved he before she died. And then the other son, the cutest little guy ever, bawling his eyes out cos he knows he'll never see his mum again.

HannaHat · 06/08/2021 15:01

I can’t watch Marley and Me.

Hachi had me and my daughter absolutely bawling, I couldn’t watch it again.

RevolvingPivot · 06/08/2021 15:01

@ArrrMeHearties

Marley and me. I watched it before I got my first ddog and sobbed and when I adopted him in 2012 I went to watch it but couldn't and still now won't watch it even though he's not with me anymore and we have ddog2
I watched that the day my DH went to Afghanistan for 7 months and I was 4 months pregnant. Can't watch it now x
Soubriquet · 06/08/2021 15:01

I’ve only seen that scene of Sophie’s Choice on YouTube. It literally chilled me.

Couldn’t watch the film

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/08/2021 15:05

Me too!!! The scene killed me.
ScantRegard · 06/08/2021 15:08

I will never watch Sophie's Choice. Absolutely no way.

SnitchyBitch · 06/08/2021 15:11

The animated one with the bull, Fernando?

Hunger Games always gets me too when Katniss does something nice for another competitor from a different district in the arena (won’t say what incase you haven’t seen it!)

juicey09 · 06/08/2021 15:15

I new one on Prime called Our Friend, I ugly cried at that one. Then I read the article it's based on and cried even more. But highly recommend the film and the article called "The friend" by Matthew Teague

Dramalady52 · 06/08/2021 15:15

Beaches. Can't watch, won't watch! Have to turn off the radio if Wind beneath my Wings comes on because I start to cry at "Thank you, thank you, Thank God for you...." Blush
