There’s always something I forget! Our car is all packed for the off tomorrow but it feels like I’ve forgotten something.

Wellies! But that was for download festival 2016 which was very muddy lol.

Prescription meds?
Glasses?
Blister plasters?

Bonkerz · 29/07/2021 21:02

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

At a festival - remembered the tent, forgot the tent poles. 😬
This was me too. Got there and got the massive 8man Tent out only to realise the poles were in my conservatory. Luckily the festival was 25 mins from home and I'd only had a small can of cider at that point!!!!

Knickers! Completely forgot to pack any when we were going to a wedding in the Czech Republic. Went hunting the first morning in Prague - I’ve never been so glad to see an M&S in my life!
I forgot to pack enough knickers in Prague. I think I had two pairs in the case for a 4 night stay. My friend with whom I was sharing a room had packed an equally woeful amount and we had 4 days with our pants steaming away drying on the towel rail after we had to hand wash them.

DH forgot to take his suitcase 🙄

PotterHead1985 · 29/07/2021 21:07

This was my mam not me. When I was a child we went on holiday to Butlins in Ireland. It was August. Mam packed all warm weather clothes. It was bloody freezing and lashing all week. I lived in the one warm skirt, one warm jumper and light jacket she had packed. Can't for the life of me remember if she'd packed anything warm for herself!

Wineandroses3 · 29/07/2021 21:12

Currently on holiday, we forgot
Hair straighteners (but then found them at bottom of case)
Almost forgot my make up bag!
Dummies
Knickers
Cold sore cream
Kids PJs
Medication for DH had to ask our GP practice to send his meds to a chemist near to our caravan park 🙄
Best things I remembered/have come in handy are:
Cape towels for kids when they get out the swimming pool. Can walk back to caravan with them on then get showered changed etc rather than having to do all that in the pool changing rooms which are usually a bit grim.
8hr Soltan sun cream for kids
Having a “professional blow dry” before I came away (kerastraight)
Toothbrush cases
Calpol
Thermometer just in case might be needed
A pop up beach tent from the range

maddiemookins16mum · 29/07/2021 21:13

DD’s dummies (I know ☺️). She only had two at night, one she held in her hand, one in her mouth. They were in a little zipped food bag and I forgot them. Not great at 9pm at night in Dubrovnik (after a long day) and NO shop or anything open.

Longdistance · 29/07/2021 21:13

Dh forgot to pack coats for dds when they were small. He was driving them up north to mils for a few days. Weirdly, mil bought them coats from the charity shop the previous day.
I’ve forgotten to pack hairbrushes before and pyjamas. It’s a bad habit from my cabin crew days.

SweatyBetty20 · 29/07/2021 21:14

Forgot a toothbrush on an Exodus trip to Cuba. You can’t just go into a shop and buy one there - there are so many shortages due to the embargo that people stockpile whenever a container comes in from China. Thankfully someone else on the trip had taken a couple from the plane toilet, but the first night I had to use my (up until then) stranger roomate’s one after the kind bar staff in our hotel had sterilised it under boiling water. Now I always pack two, and they are the first things I pack.

pollylocketpickedapocket · 29/07/2021 21:14

I’m currently on holiday and I’ve forgotten the multi pack of knickers I bought. So washing my single pair every night, luckily I’m in a swimming costume all day!

Ohpulltheotherone · 29/07/2021 21:15

Make up brushes.

Had them in a little make up bag and forgot to pick them up!

Had to attempt to stock up on some at the worlds smallest Boots in Leeds International.

Managed for the week with a blusher and eye shadow brush, my make up looked rubbish the whole time Sad

BeaBeaBuzz · 29/07/2021 21:15

Knickers

NoraLuka · 29/07/2021 21:15

Debit card 🙄 Was halfway through a 7 hour drive when I realised. There was a very helpful branch of my bank near the campsite and they sorted me out with some cash and luckily the campsite was prepaid. Also luckily DP has been known to turn up at the airport without a valid passport so his incompetence is at least equal to mine and he couldn’t say anything 😁

Fluffle55 · 29/07/2021 21:15

My contraceptive pill, period arrived within days of a two week beach holiday. And my straighteners.

InvincibleInvisibility · 29/07/2021 21:16

The keys to the 2nd holiday home we were staying at, 8hrs drive from us.

The owners had posted them to us and it was only 5 hrs into the drive to the 1st holiday home that we remembered. Cue frantically asking owner of 1st home for precise postal address and their letter box keys, and getting my parents to go to ours, find the keys and post them to us. Then spend several days stressing as to whether they'd arrive (they did).

I'm a massive list maker but my basic ptemise is once I have the irreplaceable stuff (passports, prescription meds, glasses, money) anything else can be bought.

GrrRightBackAtYou · 29/07/2021 21:16

Sleeping bags on a camping holiday 2.5 hours from home on a remote campsite.

Hippee · 29/07/2021 21:17

One shoe. My husband brought half of a pair of trainers. As he's a size 13 he wasn't sure whether to be crosser that he'd forgotten one or that he had to carry the useless other one around Australia and New Zealand.

AnxiousPixie · 29/07/2021 21:19

Nappies, only had enough for the plane.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 29/07/2021 21:21

All my daughters clothes. Luckily we were in the UK and she was only small so a quick trip to Tesco resolved it. Wouldn't work now.

Dogmum40 · 29/07/2021 21:24

Not abroad, but we got married in Scotland and left my wedding dress back at home in the midlands 🤣🙈 we just got to Scotland when we realised so had to drive back home and back up again (the afternoon and evening before our wedding the next day) we fell out and blamed each other 🤣🤣

toolazytothinkofausername · 29/07/2021 21:30

We left a rucksack by the airport entrance, and only realised after security Shock

The airport staff said they could bring it to us if it had our names on it, which it did not Sad

In the end they agreed to keep it in lost property, and we could claim it when we arrived back in the UK.

FortunesFave · 29/07/2021 21:32

My Dh forgot his passport and only realised as our friend dropped us at the airport...we were going to Oz with two small children!

Horrendous. I checked in with the kids and DH was driven home by the friend...about 40 minutes away...I explained to the check in people...and then I waited.

Luckily our friend was an organised type and knowing DH he'd insisted we get there very early.

Was still awful though! He made it back in time....I was planning to travel without him though! I thought...if he doesn't make it I'll just get on the plane.

TeanupFlutter · 29/07/2021 21:37

The 2 kids coats on a cold windy day trip to Blackpool to see the lights. Only realised when we were almost there. Had to stop at a Tesco on the way in and buy new coats.

PatchworkElmer · 29/07/2021 21:40

My (prescription) sunglasses 🤦🏻‍♀️

LadyPoison · 29/07/2021 21:42

Not me but DH found he'd left his suitcase at home when we got to the airport.

He had to go on holiday with just the clothes he was wearing. That I found this very funny did not go down well......
