Why do teens choose to boil alive?🥵

My teen is in her room,

Black out blind down, window closed, normal blind down. She’s under the covers in a hoodie.

‘It’s not that hot in here’😬

I couldn’t stay in it…

Dc aged 13 and 11 had those massive hoody blankets for Xmas each. Thick faux fur/sheepskin lined and down to their knees.

I've had to confiscate them this week because they're still wearing them at any given opportunity around the house and I was worried one of them was going to pass out!

“27, 29, 30 degrees…”

It’s 39 degrees where I live. Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. I dream of 28, 29 degrees.
Actually, I’m dreaming of winter right about now.

My 16yo DD is the same and in the winter- freezing cold outside she wears short socks, puts on her coat moaningConfusedShock

My mother was on my case constantly when I was a teenager for my clothes. During the summer I was usually covered ankle to neck, to my feet. She couldn't get her head round the idea that the fabric kept the sun off my skin. These days I still cover up in the summer - yesterday I wore an ankle length sleeveless dress & a shawl - both cotton. And a very wide brimmed real straw hat. No sunscreen except my face. I was out on buses, walking around etc for about 7 hours. I'm still pale as milk except for my hands which are the colour of most people's faces in winter.

DH & DD still think I'm weird. When the sun comes out, they put shorts & vest tops onto their golden limbs, & I cover up.

Because teens are weird freakish backwards creatures! My son wears all black, jeans, boots, tshirt and flannel shirt on top in 33 heat. Yet wears short sleeves and school blazer, no coat even in the snow. Wears shorts in the winter too.

Dont want dinner then moan they are starving, have no money but always manage to come back with macky d's... They just don't human yet.

I saw a lady wearing tight leather trousers yesterday and a guy wearing a long coat. Both middle aged mind, almost had heatstroke on there behalf 😅.

It's the chunky trainers and socks that are killing me with my DD. I absolutely loathe having hot feet and the thought of anything other than sandals or flip flops in this weather makes me want to pass out.

But DD has gone out today in jeans with trainers and socks. Confused Why?
