DP in hospital. Reassure me he’ll be ok.

DP had his appendix out on Sunday, home Monday and recovering well, posted a thread at the time which some people might have seen. This morning he woke me at 6 saying he didn’t feel good but he couldn’t explain how exactly. I thought he was just half asleep and painkillers were wearing off so I just cuddled him till he went back to sleep. Reading that back I’m aware of how stupid it sounds. When I woke up properly a bit later though he was sweaty and breathing funny. Now he’s in hospital and they’re saying it’s sepsis. I don’t understand how this has happened when he was recovering so well. He even went out and saw a mate yesterday. I’ve just been sat at home all day not knowing what to do with myself and waiting for news which hasn’t come. I don’t want to go to bed because he’s not there. Not sure I’ve even posted this in the right place I just wanted a bit of reassurance.

@icecreamgirl94 I am so happy for you and your wee family. What a great outcome from what was an incredibly scary time. You all got very lucky, thanks for the wonderful healthcare he got. I'm so pleased.

Oh thank you so much everyone, the well wishes are really appreciated. He’s doing really well, the kidney infection is improving which is helping him feel slightly less worn out. Only symptoms now are back ache and a bit tender in the appendix area. Today has been the first day that he hasn’t just slept! Well he woke up after 11 and has been asleep since 8 this evening but it’s a bit of improvement. I feel a bit useless but I don’t think I can do much more than give him lots of love and nourishment.
@cantitbesimpler thank you yes even though he’s so much better I’ve still cried every day since he’s been home. I feel a bit all over the place but he seems in really good spirits so we’ll get there. He’s not one to hide his feelings so I’d know if he was struggling.
@Candleabra thank you so much for your concern. We’re doing ok, my sister has a DD the same age as DS and is a student now on summer holidays so has said she’s available to babysit whenever we need it for the next few weeks. We have a really nice family support network so we’re very lucky. My step mum doesn’t have kids so showers all her affection on us, we’re very lucky to have her.
@pandemicstress thank you so much!
@2018SoFarSoGreat thank you so much, I’m just so relieved! Absolutely horrible time but so grateful for the care he got. I now know that they were more concerned than I realised during the first 48 hours but we’re looking to the future now and appreciating how lucky we are.
Thanks everyone ❤️
