Would any welsh MNs be up for our own subforum?

I know we are not as numerous but we are enthusiastic! MN currently has a Craicnet and a Scotsnet but no Walesnet! If you think this would be something you'd use please comment here or on the post below in site stuff (or on both!). Any name suggestions also welcome - Ddraignet was one, or the more traditional Walesnet/Cymrunet?

You wouldn't even have to be Welsh/living in Wales - it would be a good resource for people looking for holiday advice for example.

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 08/07/2021 12:02

If you had a beginner Welsh language thread I might join in. I don't live in Wales now but lived there for a while and learned some Welsh which I am trying to keep up and improve

I could do with one of these - I'm English (though have some welsh ancestry) living in Wales and keep trying to learn Welsh and then get discouraged.

We're just over the boarder and don't hear a huge amount of Welsh being spoken - though do hear some- but I'd love to be able to support our kids a bit more with it.

Yes I would love this. Am English but studied in Wales and always had a hankering to return.

massistar · 08/07/2021 13:19

👍 cwtchnet? A bit contrary to core Mumsnet words but as a non Welsh speaker it's such a fab word. Grin

SouthOfFrance · 08/07/2021 13:19

Yes!

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 08/07/2021 13:19

I am shocked there isn't one already.
I love learning Welsh on duolingo. Much prefer the frequent mentions of dragons to the Scots garlic irn bru obsession.

justfeellikedancing42nite · 08/07/2021 13:19

yes please.

BonesJones · 08/07/2021 13:20
