Weird letter received

DH received this letter in the post today in a used NHS envelope that was stuck down with sellotape. Both of us are stumped to why it's been sent as I've googled and Mankind doesn't look to be part of NHS and the number is correct but the message on the letter has freaked us out,

has anyone ever had anything similar to this?

Does he have a stalker ex?

ApolloandDaphne · 06/07/2021 20:49

Looks like it is from some nutter. Does he have an ex who might be keen to get back with him?

PocketSize · 06/07/2021 20:51

Looks like it's been sent by someone's concerned ex ? Did they just use an old envelope to use because thats all they could find to send the letter in? Has it got your husband's name and address on?

StarryStarrySocks · 06/07/2021 20:53

How weird. I'm assuming it was addressed to your DH by name? Is it a common name? Could it be a case of mistaken identity? I'd be a bit freaked out too.

Thegirlthatwanted2begod · 06/07/2021 20:56

His name was on the letter as Mr Surname no initial, it is our address on the letter but not the flat number just the house no

We've been together 7 years and any ex's are long gone as far as I am aware..plus we have lived at this address for 6 years so bit weird to receive this now

Thats blatantly not from the NHS, could be from an ex or just a random nutter.

Thegirlthatwanted2begod · 06/07/2021 20:58

This was the envelope it came in - Bristol Po box address but it was definitely used (assuming from an actual nhs letter) and just used to send this in, no stamp on envelope either?

Could it be a letter campaign sent from the organisation,, possibly a mail shot?

wjg65ka · 06/07/2021 21:00

The "leave ur abuser and come back 2 me xx" is actually creepy

PocketSize · 06/07/2021 21:01

Was it hand posted then if no stamp 😬

xprincessxjanetx · 06/07/2021 21:02

Woah that is really creepy. I have no advice but I really hope this is some innocent letter. It would seriously freak me out if we received this so I can understand your concern.

AntiSocialDistancer · 06/07/2021 21:02

Looks like it was from an ex, or an acquaintance who inferred a lot of rubbish (eg a pretend relationship or the fact you are abusive).

Keep it in a drawer in case anything escalates.

SecondCityShark · 06/07/2021 21:03

Hmmm. Sorry to even suggest this OP but does any part of you think that he could've had an affair?

This looks to me like somebody causing trouble. I hope he's innocent and it's just some obsessive woman.

chickenyhead · 06/07/2021 21:03

So it had his surname on?

This is odd

SecondCityShark · 06/07/2021 21:05

There's no way thats an official campaign. It's designed to induce paranoia which is not what you'd want in an abusive environment.

PurpleSunrise · 06/07/2021 21:06

Hmm v odd

Thegirlthatwanted2begod · 06/07/2021 21:12

@SecondCityShark

Nah no chance of affair, he texts me all day long always has, we both have find your friends on phones (usually for when one of us in in the pub before the other and can work out when to order another drink) and he rarely ever goes out or anything without me which is why we are so stumped

OP posts:
StrawberrySundayz · 06/07/2021 21:12

Very odd. Could it be some weird acquaintance or colleague. Maybe someone you have fallen out with in the past?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 06/07/2021 21:13

If there is no flat number it suggests it could be someone who knows the building he resides in but not which flat. Which suggests that it's someone who has seen him going in and out of that building. Creepy.

WhySoSensitive · 06/07/2021 21:13

Someone looking to cause trouble?
Any reason to have suspicions of DH?

BlueGlasses · 06/07/2021 21:16

Have you googled the phone number?

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 06/07/2021 21:16

How odd, I think it's someone wanting to induce paranoia and cause problems for whatever reason. Doesn't seem mailshootish for that reason.

CupOfTPlease · 06/07/2021 21:18

Weird.

Are any of you actually abusive?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 06/07/2021 21:18

That paper looks well handled, it doesn't look like most letters that are put straight into envelopes in an office, does it? Odd.

Thegirlthatwanted2begod · 06/07/2021 21:19

@BlueGlasses yes and it is for this mankind charity but they are registered in Brighton and I would assume if it was from them it would be on headed paper, this is blank apart from DH title and Surname and our address and this message,

No signature nothing to imply it's legitimately from a male domestic abuse charity
