So I have rescued a kitten

I think it was dumped - it was with another kitten that was dead.

It’s small but it’s eyes are open and it’s able to walk around (quite confidently!) so I think maybe 5 weeks or so?

It’s black.

I’ve fed it mushed up food with kitten milk and it has food and water and a blanket and a cuddly toy in an old dog cage.

Also made up a litter tray from an old baking tray and put litter in it.

I will of course take it to the vet tomorrow but do I need to feed it in the middle of the night?

It’s currently trying to climb up the cage and it’s been playing with a cat toy so I think it’s ok in itself.

Guinness 😻

Amazon do litter trays with hoods on that look like a cat carrier, they’re amazing for naughty cats that kick their litter everywhere!

Lovely story, so pleased you're keeping him.
Regarding the litter, try the wood pellets, they don't make as much of a mess and not so easy to spread everywhere.

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2021 11:53

How is he doing?

Blankspace4 · 13/07/2021 23:07

Would also love to know how the little one is!

This is lovely. What a beauty he is. Thank goodness you found him, you're his angel.
There are mats to sit in front of the litter tray that are good for trapping the kicked litter. Hooded trays can be good to contain it too depending where he's kicking it.

He is doing really well. 😁

He’s a wee skitter - wants out every time the dog goes out so there’s a one in one out shut and open doors system going on to try to keep him in. He has eaten the plastic beads on my vertical blinds, and rampages up and down the drying rack to the point it is now the cat climbing frame.

Still kicks the litter everywhere and won’t use the very expensive top entry litter box but I’m sure he will get there eventually (he can get in and out he’s just a determined wee shite).

But he’s eating really well, cuddles up to the dog and me and is just full of personality.
