What silly or affectionate nicknames do/did you have for your kids?

Or anyone - your friends kids / nieces / nephews / grandchildren?

I refer to my baby as "little potato" (in my Spanish: papa pequeña).

What silly or sweet nicknames or terms of endearment did you start using?

We couldn’t decide on a name first few days after DD was born so called her missy, I still call her that now, and she’s a teen!

SingingSands · 02/07/2021 01:00

My DS is "Noodles". I can't even remember how it came about, but it's stuck for 13 yrs now. Smile

Oh that is too sweet! I think food nicknames are hilarious. I sometimes also call my baby Little Nugget. 😂

Missy is pretty apt for most teen girls!

Loads.

Pigeon
Wigglebum
Human tornado
Bean
Jumping bean
Terror of the deep

Recently she's been getting demon seed a lot. Mostly when she's accidentally managed to knee DH in the testicles for 3rd time in a week, or decided it's funny to pick me up. She had just turned 8 when she discovered she could do that. She's nearly as tall as me already.

Her capacity for mischief seems to grow exponentially in relation to her height. She grew 6 inches last year. She's only 9. Shoot me now

Munchkin
Pumpkin (I was massively overdue on Halloween, so I let DH paint my bump as a pumpkin).
Monkey
Chicken

Strokethefurrywall · 02/07/2021 12:47

Little Pup or little Cub for both my boys, and have been called that since day one. I’ve no idea why!

fridayfeeding · 02/07/2021 13:20

Oldest DD:
Bear or Bear cub

This came from the three bears.

Youngest DD:
Chippy chop
Chipster

When she was born she had the biggest fattest cheeks.

PenelopeParallelogram · 02/07/2021 13:24

Our youngest is Flan, short for Flannel, which in turn is short for (a mispronunciation of) his actual name.

spiderlight · 02/07/2021 13:34

DS was 'Spud' for several months after he was born, because he looked like one (imagine a tiny, almost completely spherical Phil Mitchell lookalike). He's also known as 'my cockle' or 'my lamb' - no idea where either of those came from, but now that he's 14 I have to be careful not to call him 'my cockle' in front of his mates!

Happylittlethoughts · 02/07/2021 14:22

Child 1: TBG, Grubster/Grub , diminutive of her name , Arabella, Bella
Child 2: Bean, Bean Girl, Name+Bean, Bali, Name diminutives x2

Champagneforeveryone · 02/07/2021 14:27

DS was always Stickers after Lightning McQueen. He's 17 now and learning to drive, and there's a lot less of Lightning McQueen in him than I think he imagined Grin

Aimily · 02/07/2021 14:40

I call ds moo, it started as moobag when he was a newborn and has just evolved over time.
While he was learning animal names we used to play a game where dh and I would either say an animal or make an animal sound and he'd tell us the sound/animal and there came a point where we'd say moo (expecting cow) and he'd stop playing and look at us like he was expecting us to say something else. He would still moo when we said cow though 🤣

ineedaholidayandwine · 02/07/2021 14:42

Squishy or pudding

JustYourAverageSue · 02/07/2021 14:48

I call my DS Crumpet 😃

hullaballoo19 · 02/07/2021 14:48

Mush (pronounced like bush, not hush)

Temp023 · 02/07/2021 14:49

Our DD is Smidge, short for Stinky Midget.

She is 15yo and six feet two!

30degreesandmeltinghere · 02/07/2021 14:50

Ds 6 rarely gets his real name. Been Squiddy since the start.

wonderstuff · 02/07/2021 14:51

Dd I call bunny, and I've really got to stop because she's 13 now! I couldn't get used to her actual name when she was born and so called her baby girl or bunny instead for at least 6 months.

MissMissTorrance · 02/07/2021 14:51

I have a Mr Man and an Angel bum.

Buzzer3555 · 02/07/2021 14:51

Plum

ILoveYou3000 · 02/07/2021 14:51

charpley162 · 02/07/2021 14:52

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 02/07/2021 14:52
