What silly or affectionate nicknames do/did you have for your kids?

Or anyone - your friends kids / nieces / nephews / grandchildren?

I refer to my baby as "little potato" (in my Spanish: papa pequeña).

What silly or sweet nicknames or terms of endearment did you start using?

Weebles or weeb. When I was pregnant I kept saying I looked like a weeble with my big belly and it's just stuck. Shes only 10 weeks old at the min so will see if it stays!

@hullaballoo19

Mush (pronounced like bush, not hush)
I'm assuming this is a regional thing because they sound the same to me!
Mipapapequenaa · 02/07/2021 15:20

I was also gonna say that - hush, bush and mush all rhyme to me too!

Flambola · 02/07/2021 15:21

Her name - Bear
Eg Alice-Bear

My husband calls her Wee Beastie.

Trub - short for trouble, then big trub and little trub. Eldest in his 30s and still occasionally trub! Youngest definitely still little trub!

gingerninja99 · 02/07/2021 15:38

Grumbles - because she was an unhappy baby who grumbled all the time due to tiredness but wouldn't sleep
Pukey - because he had reflux and colic as a baby and always puked up his feed constantly Grin
Their nicknames rhyme with their names and we still call them it sometimes, they are 9 & 7 now Smile

riotlady · 02/07/2021 15:58

Gosh loads now I think about it- monkey, munchkin, munchie, trouble, troublesaurus, troublecopter, junior

Idk about the original poster but the “u” in bush is closer to the front of my mouth than the “u” in hush. Not sure how else to explain it! I’m from the north east

My youngest has lots - pudding, pud pud, pudding pie, pudlington, noo noo, monkey moo, monkey pie, little big man, small stuff, number 2 etc etc He is 11

My eldest is 14 and has a couple but they sound similar to his actual name so I won't say them here. I also call him little big man, and child number 1

also. Hush. Bush. Mush. how can they be different?!!

SeeYouInFive · 02/07/2021 16:16

Squiggle
Bubbaloo
An Italian-ised version of their name e.g: Tomaso instead of Thomas
[name]-doodles
Kitten

They are far too old for all these nicknames.

Hush rhymes with mush but not with bush!

Bush is pronounced "booh-sh" whereas hush and mush are muh-sh

My DS is named Ethan Geoffrey, (Geoffrey after my dad) so I call him little G or little Geof

My DD is named Eloise so I shorten it to Ella, she sometimes gets Ella-boo

contrary13 · 02/07/2021 16:57

My Dad still calls me Sweet Pea and Poppet. I'm 45. Hmm

LaMadrilena · 02/07/2021 17:13

Our 5w-old was Lentejita (little lentil) throughout my pregnancy, as that's how big the ecographer said she was at our very early 1st scan.

My DH now calls her Morcillita (little black pudding) as she's filling out her babygros like a fat little sausage! (She's not fat, she's just catching up after being born a bit skinny!)

MikeyEh · 02/07/2021 17:16

My son is Bean, I very rarely call him anything else.

Squishedpickle · 02/07/2021 17:21

Squidgle mostly. Also bumblebee, sweetpea or popsy on occasion

waltzingparrot · 02/07/2021 17:21

Billy Boo
