Would you rather have another baby or a bigger house?

I have 2 children and would like a third but it means we would have to wait a few more years to move to a bigger house. We have enough rooms but need more space.
We could give out DDs a big house with their own bedroom or we could have another child and experience the joy that comes with that.
I know this is a personal subjective question but wanted to see what you would do? For the record, my DDs would like another child! (We had a loss which they often talk about)

Have another baby, no contest.

TheMotherlode · 29/06/2021 21:27

We faced the same choice when deciding whether to have a second. We choose to have a second baby and will wait a few years to move house. It’ll be a squeeze in our current house but we’ll manage.

It’s actually been a really good incentive for us to have a good clear out, get rid of a lot of stuff, and get some decent storage in place. it’s amazing how much less space you actually need when you use it well.

Bigger house.

Thank you so much!

We had the baby, although for us it was our third.

We have a smallish 3 bed house & now the youngest is almost 10 it does feel kind of crowded.

Verbena87 · 29/06/2021 21:31

Baby, but we’ve always been pushed for space and managed (tiny flat, tiny cottage, another tiny cottage)

Squicknick · 29/06/2021 21:32

Baby!!! No house can compare to the joy

Maggiesfarm · 29/06/2021 21:32

Buy a bigger house before considering having another baby.

Slothbynameandnature · 29/06/2021 21:33

House.

Chunkymenrock · 29/06/2021 21:34

House. No question. There are too many people in the world already.

Baby!!! No house can compare to the joy
Oh yes it can Grin
WunWun · 29/06/2021 21:35

A bigger house, without a doubt.

HitsAndMrs · 29/06/2021 21:36

It is kind of the baby or the house to be honest. It's now or never with a baby due to the age gap, my eldest is 10.

A house could come in the future so in the next few years I could have both but for now it's baby or bigger house

House. Children bring purpose rather than happiness and two is sufficient for that

annacondom · 29/06/2021 21:36

Wouldn't have more than two dch because there are enough people on this planet already, but also I like my three bed house. So, neither :) If house too small, house.

Mustardbay · 29/06/2021 21:37

House

GettingItOutThere · 29/06/2021 21:38

well i am done with babies! so house!

I think 2 is a lovely number, so house

LizJamIsFab · 29/06/2021 21:41

If it was a tie between the 2 I’d pick the house. You can’t want another so much if you can even consider it.

Comedycook · 29/06/2021 21:43

As the parent in that situation, a bigger house definitely.

As a child, I'd have chosen the extra sibling

allycat4 · 29/06/2021 21:44

Baby!!

funnyoldonion · 29/06/2021 21:48

House but it sounds like you want the baby so go for it!

HitsAndMrs · 29/06/2021 21:49

I do want another but I'm also thinking about it with my head and not just my heart.

Thank you all.

Bigger house but we live in a box. 3 single bedrooms, no upstairs bathroom, downstairs is (the only) tiny bathroom front room and a kitchen. I freaking long for an upstairs toilet or an extra room downstairs. We don't even have cupboards for hoover/mop!

Still had 3 kids though!

Id absolutely love another baby but it would never work where we currently live.

Sounds like you have enough space to consider it though ?

We pushed it to our limit and our children know no different in terms of space. Only us adults do!

We do have a lovely large garden though which helps.
