Do you know what I really miss..Salt.
Was sitting here earlier and thinking I'd love some chips with loads of salt.

WreckTangled · 30/01/2022 07:29

I ate a whole big bar of Cadbury's yesterday. And a pot noodle 😩 I'm well and truly off the wagon and feeling crap for it. I'll do better today and I'm going to make low carb banana bread.

BorderlineHappy · 30/01/2022 13:32

My mam's anniversary today,22 years dead.

Such a weird day.

Flowers BorderlineHappy I'm so sorry. It never gets any easier does it? (My nan raised me when I was young, died when I was 4. Couldn't even talk about her without crying until I was in my early twenties.) Are you doing anything to mark the day? Or just silently paying your respects? You have my upmost sympathies. (((HUG)))
You're not allowed to eat salt? I don't use it very often at all, and I don't liked salted caramel so don't get it there either. Just occasionally on some chips.
Had the healthiest day I've had in a long time! I did have Clementine Curd in my sandwich today, just to eat it up. I didn't have much. But apart from that a bit of fruit and salad for tea.
I also used to beat myself up about not being good enough, could clean better, tidy more, do more, etc. Well, I've been complaining to my Drs for over 17 years (I know because it was before I moved in this place.) about tiredness. They'll give me a blood test every year or so and that's it. Anyway, have been feeling a bit stiff lately and found a YouTube video yesterday of 10 mins stretching. I did it today, enjoyed it but man, I realised how unfit I am! So, I realised that expecting myself to jump out of bed and go into action everyday was just not feasible. (Don't worry, I don't live in a pig sty! lol I do get round to it.) I need to be kinder to myself and go a bit slower. So, I've decided to do the stretching daily, and a 10 minute bedtime routine of yoga for 10 mins every evening. See how I go from there. (I used to exercise because I told myself I wasn't good enough. I'd need to exercise to rid me of my weight. Instead this time it's nothing to do with losing weight for me. It's feeling fitter, healthier. Being kind to myself instead of punishing.)
Sorry to hear you are struggling WreckTangled. I hope you enjoyed yourself though? Grin Low Carb banana bread sounds interesting. Do you make it often? Sounds delicious. Smile

I cant add salt to food.I dont mind it usually but now and again i would love a big load of salt on chips.
Its the only thing i really salted.
I had white bread with peanut butter as i couldnt be arsed to cook anything.

Thanks@73kittycat73 im going to the grave tomorrow or Tuesday to lay some flowers.
@WreckTangled recipe for the low carb banana bread please.

WreckTangled · 30/01/2022 20:49

this is the recipe I don't like nuts but add 70% chocolate chips instead. Sometimes I'll make them into cupcakes/muffins instead. So nice.

I don't know if I did enjoy myself 73kitty I suppose I do when I'm eating it but then I feel shit with highs and lows etc

PaperMonster · 31/01/2022 18:43

Hugs to you @BorderlineHappy. Hope you’re doing ok xxx

@73kittycat73 I have never heard of clementine curd!

Still plaguey here but feeling ok. I have binged on Emily in Paris - my mind is turning to mush. Roll on Wednesday and freedom!!

BorderlineHappy · 31/01/2022 19:12

Im doing well today @PaperMonster.
Its my birthday tomorrow and im going out for a meal.

My eldest ds is babysitting.
I cannot wait.

73kittycat73 · 31/01/2022 19:41

I understand WreckTangled. At the time it's the best thing in the world, fire works going off in your head. Then you've finished it a moment later you feel really bad for eating it and upset with yourself. Plus the physical effects too. Don't be to hard on yourself though. You're only human. And we all need a bit of the sweet stuff sometimes! Thanks for sharing the bread recipe. I'd probably buy some rather than bake, I'm terrible at baking and cooking! lol
Hope today went well BorderlineHappy Flowers I hope you really, really enjoy your meal, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow! Cake Star I hope you have an amazing day. Smile
Hi PaperMonster. Smile I found the Clementine Curd in Sainsbury in their Christmas range. I like lemon curd so I thought I'd give it a try. It's very yum. Grin They've stopped doing it now and I found some on Ebay but they want twice the price. Can't have it now anyway, trying to be healthy. Smile I saw that Emily In Paris mentioned before, is it any good? It looked to me a bit like Sex In The City? Glad you are feeling better. Is Wednesday when you can come out of isolation then?
Woke in the night and binged on two bananas, and a smidgen of honey. (I keep a small bit of honey for hypos.) Not great, but a lot better than loads of chocolate, biscuits, etc.
I've got the dr phoning in the morning. I wrote a letter to them a couple of weeks ago outlining why I would like a referral for an autism assessment. They usually ignore letter untill you phone them and read them together so it's very unusual that I got a text a week or so ago giving me an appointment to ask about the letter. A bit nervous about it actually. I don't know what they are going to say or what they want to hear from me. Confused Touch wood it goes well!

Hope it goes well 73kitty. I don't know much about it but I can imagine them asking what you hope to get out of receiving a diagnosis and how you feel it might help you so maybe write down some notes in advance so you have some answers prepared? I work in children's services so don't know much about adults

Borderline where are you going to eat? Hope you have a lovely day!

I've got a maths exam tomorrow 🤮

73kittycat73 · 31/01/2022 20:25

Thank you. Smile
Very good luck with the exam tomorrow, I'm sure you'll ace it! Star

BorderlineHappy · 01/02/2022 07:08

@73kittycat73 I second writing down what you want to say.
I get flustered on the phone and don't ask half the stuff I should.

@WreckTangled I'm off out for a Chinese meal.
It's Chinese New Year and there's something planned with that.
Good luck with the maths exam💐

@PaperMonster One more day till freedom.
It'll be like
Escape from Alcatraz ,🤣

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2022 08:03

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BorderlineHappy! Cake I hope you have a wonderful day! Star

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2022 12:13

Well, dr called, I'm being referred for an assessment! I don't know how long the wait list is, or who you are referred to, but I'm just glad I'm being referred. Smile

@WreckTangled fantastic news,well done.

@73kittycat73 Thats great at least its a start.

Im so looking forward to it,its a long time since i was out.
Plus my sons school only took half the payment for enrollment said we can pay next month.

Which is a huge weight off me,as this week was tight.

PaperMonster · 01/02/2022 13:06

Happy birthday @BorderlineHappy! Enjoy your meal and have a fabulous day!

Well done - bloomin very well done @WreckTangled! What a score!!

@73kittycat73 hope the appointment goes well.

Nothing to report here! Patiently awaiting tomorrow!!

WreckTangled · 01/02/2022 15:55

Thank you!

73kitty that's great news!

I treated myself to a small brownie, kept my levels in range though and didn't get McDonald's even though I really wanted it Grin

73kittycat73 · 01/02/2022 19:25

didn't get McDonald's even though I really wanted it
That made me chuckle. Grin Well done for resisting though! I hope the brownie was nice? I love a good Blondie or Brownie. They sell some on QVC that look delicious, Gowers Garden? Or something like that, but they want £24.00 for 12 pieces! Shock Still...they do look delicious...Grin
Hope you've had an amazing birthday BorderlineHappy. Smile Hope your meal was delicious. Good of the school to help out like that too.
Thanks PaperMonster. Smile I googled the wait list for assessments in my city and they said it was a year. I don't mind as I originally heard it was 2 years!
Are you counting down the hours to freedom? I bet you've been climbing the walls as you are usually on long walks and stuff. I hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow. Smile

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/02/2022 20:00

Said brownie was delicious.

A year isn't bad at all, I was thinking 18-24 months post Covid. That year will go quickly and allow you to gather lots of information, you could get a notebook and every time you think 'this is why I think x, y or z' you could jot it down.

I get a 20% discount at McDonald's so that makes it extra hard to resist Grin

PaperMonster · 01/02/2022 20:23

Oh gosh that looks divine!

I confess that I have left the house this evening! I walked daughter down to the village hall and I’ll go and collect her later. Didn’t see anyone to speak to - more tricky at collection time though! But I am thoroughly missing being active!! Still positive again today though.

73kittycat73 · 02/02/2022 09:34

That's a really good idea WreckTangled, thank you. Smile That coffee and brownie do look nice. Grin Oh, and 20% off too? Double well done for resisting! Star
Glad you got out and got some fresh air then PaperMonster. Smile Hopefully you'll have a negative soon. How was pick up?
Hope you're feeling OK today BorderlineHappy? How did the meal go?
I couldn't remember what day I weighed myself on (But noticed now I put it on here, just not in my diary, doh! lol) so I weighed myself today to see if I'm doing OK. I've lost almost 2lbs! I was 14st 2.6lbs and I'm now 14st 0.8lbs. I can't do maths this time of morning (WreckTangled, I need your maths skills!) but I've lost almost 2lb. So chuffed. Smile

BorderlineHappy · 02/02/2022 11:51

That's fantastic@73kittycat73.
Well the meal never started🤣

Got to the Chinese ,got seated.
Then nobody came near us.
We had to ask for a menu.
Tried to wave a server down, she just waved back🤣

Finally got someone over to the table, asked could we order.
Then she promptly turned around and cleared the table next to us.

There was a show started,so we just left.
Went got a takeaway and went home.

73kittycat73 · 02/02/2022 19:51

Thanks BorderlineHappy. Smile
I'm so sorry your meal didn't go as planned. Sad I hope it didn't dampen your day too much? I bet the takeaway tasted nicer then anyway. I think you can leave reviews on TripAdvisor? (I've never done it before but read about it on here often.)
Did you get a nice Birthday cake? Or are you low/no carbing?
I got a shock today. I was browsing Instagram earlier and searched 'weightloss' and saw lots of before and after pics, so I had this bright idea...Grin I got my mum to take some front and side on pics of myself for reference. Just to say my flat is so small I don't have room for a full size mirror, maybe if I did...I was horrified by the pics! lol I can't believe the size of my belly! Shock I carry nearly all my weight in it. If that doesn't spur me on...lol
