Hope there's not too many hangovers this morning.
What's everyone's plans for today.
Mine was going toy sons to see the GC,but my youngest D's has got up with a headache and not feeling well.
His 2 other brothers have had the same thing.

Hope everyone's day went well yesterday and you didn't burn the 🦃 🤣

PaperMonster · 26/12/2021 12:39

Hi @BorderlineHappy hope your son feels better as the day goes on xxx

Missed out on a turkey dinner as we had a buffet to accommodate all the dietary requirements/personal preferences/downright fussiness!! Am going to pick up a turkey crown at some point and do our own dinner!!

I got lots of lovely earrings @73kittycat73!! Some Christmas ones, some not! Keep your eye open on my Insta page!! Loved my new Christmas tree ones from my brother!

It’s dim and dismal here today - but I do feel the need to escape!! So will go for a stroll soon!

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas! X

BorderlineHappy · 26/12/2021 14:07

I got a lovely necklace with words Nan on it from my gc.
Really chuffed with it.
Having Christmas dinner round 2 today.
Using up the leftovers from yesterday.

My eldest son works in Tesco and got us 2 turkey crowns for free.
We've frozen one and gave one to my sil.

Oh that’s a lovely present @BorderlineHappy!

I did indeed escape for a while and did a short walk. I would like to say I felt better for it but I’m really struggling with all the stuff. I struggle with it most of the time, but obviously there’s more at Christmas and I feel so hemmed in with it all.

73kittycat73 · 27/12/2021 20:33

Hello. Xmas Smile Nice to see you both. Luckily no hangovers here BorderlineHappy. Neither of us drink. We did buy a low alcoholic gin to try this year though. Saving it for New Year. Your necklace sounds really sentimental and lovely. Did you have the leftovers as bubble and squeak? We didn't have any leftovers. Xmas Grin We had a lot of ready made stuff for the day, which actually tasted really nice. We are having a cook from scratch roast now on New Years Day instead, so will have leftovers the next day. Nice one on the free turkey!
I shall check out the earrings PaperMonster. Xmas Grin Glad you got your walk in the end. Have you had your proper dinner yet? Sorry you are feeling uncomfortable. Do you still have guests? I hope yuou manage to sort something out soon and feel better. (((hugs)))
I had a lovely Christmas day. Saw my nieces and it wasn't the usual dive in and rip it open, we actually took turns. It was lovely! Everyone loved their presents and my brother actually stayed for a good hour-hour an a half as well as eating dinner with us! It was so nice.
My older brother came round yesterday and his new partner was really, really nice. We had loads to talk about so no awkward silences!
We were going to see my nieces again tomorrow but my older brother phoned earlier and said his partner had tested positive for Covid. I went online to try and order a test kit for me and mum but it said it was fully booked for this area. I suppose I'll just try again tomorrow?
I have taken all but the Christmas tree down this evening. Xmas Grin It was starting to get on my nerves. At least it's mostly done. I didn't feel very Christmassy at all this year, didn't watch any Christmas films or anything. We did go out again though just before Christmas and look at the decorated houses. Don't get me wrong, I did love Christmas and enjoyed myself. I think I realised this year that I was not going to get the same magic of Christmas back as I had as a child (Although I was bought up in an abusive household, we always had good Christmases.) and that I could approach Christmas this year differently. I didn't have that expectation iykwim? I just saw it as something nice, and fun. And I really enjoyed it. Xmas Smile

Hi @73kittycat73 lovely to hear that you’ve enjoyed a great Christmas! And also things sound to be going well with your brother!

We didn’t have visitors here, it’s too small - we went to family. Which is why I get a bit hemmed in - OH has a lot of stuff and painstakingly recycles wrapping paper so there just seemed to be stuff everywhere. Plus daughter could’ve find something and of course, I’m the default parent!

Went out yesterday for a five miler - all of us. We saw some young deer hiding in bushes, which was lovely. Then I heard that a friend had died on Christmas Day and I’m heartbroken. Just working through that now really. Trying to make sense of it. Sorry, that’s a bit of a downer.

BorderlineHappy · 28/12/2021 11:26

@73kittycat73 glad you had a lovely Christmas, hopefully you get sorted for the tests today.
@PaperMonster very sorry to hear about your friend, sending my condolences 💐

PaperMonster · 28/12/2021 18:14

Thank you @BorderlineHappy. It’s been a shock to say the least.

@73kittycat73 - I’ve bought some Christmas presents for next year today!!!

73kittycat73 · 28/12/2021 20:22

Aww, I'm so sorry about your friend PaperMonster. You must be in a bit of shock? I'm so sorry. Have things calmed down a bit at where you are? I'm sure that would help you?
I bet the deer looked amazing. You've also beaten me to it, with the presents for next year. Xmas Smile
I hope you are sleeping OK? That always helps. (((hugs)))
Hi BorderlineHappy. Did Mylo and Rocco have some roast dinner?
Couldn't get the tests online but my younger brother works in a role where he goes into peoples houses so he had a couple spare for us, that he dropped off outside. My mums came up as a faint negative, but mine failed. I'm quite sure I don't have it. I don't have any symptoms, but that's not to say I don't have it I suppose.
Do either of you have any plans for New Years Eve? We just usually listen for the boats at midnight and watch the fireworks, we get loads round here. I wonder if it will be the same this year?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 28/12/2021 20:41

Thanks @73kittycat73 - she was far too young to die. So yes, I must be in shock. I keep crying quite randomly. I went out for a walk to just be alone and have a little sob earlier. I just could do with being enveloped in a big hug tbh. Went to visit a friend earlier so that took my mind of things for a while. And my online pal who got back in touch last month has kept me entertained this evening and cheered me right up!

Sainsburys have a fab sale on the Habitat Christmas crockery so I got some plates for my friend and her family and one for us as I’d only managed to get two before Christmas and I need three.

73kittycat73 · 28/12/2021 21:29

I'm so sorry. If you need to talk about your friend or how you are feeling, please post away. She must have meant a lot to you, and was a true friend. I'm glad your other friend is making you smile. Just take it one day (Hour?) at a time atm. Sending you vitrtual hugs --> (((Hugs)))

@73kittycat73 thank you so much. I slept well last night unlike the previous night and feel much brighter today. X

BorderlineHappy · 29/12/2021 09:19

@PaperMonster that's good,keep posting here if you're feeling down.

@73kittycat73 both Rocco and Mylo are as sick of ham and turkey as us🤣.
My kids bought themselves a takeaway of choice the other night.
One bought an Indian and now we have Fridays takeaway sorted.
I have Mylo purring away on me and I can't have my coffee.
It's like living with toddlers all over again.

73kittycat73 · 29/12/2021 19:54

Good you managed to sleep, and feel so much better today PaperMonster. I'd just take each day as it comes atm. You'll have good day (/hours) and not so good. Are you eating at all? Take care. x
Aww, what a shame they're fed up of all the Christmas meat BorderlineHappy! Xmas Grin ooh take a way. We had one Christmas Eve. I wasn't keen but my mum was. Went to a local chippy on Just Eat. The pea fritter was ok but the roll was buttered with something horrible. The chips were almost cold too. I hope your take a way tastes much better!
Aww, I was just saying the other day how much I miss a lap cat. I love having them sat purring on my lap. Can't get up if you need a pee though, or like you, your coffee! Xmas Grin IT's funny isn't it, they have no qualms about walking us when we are sleeping. Lol. Maybe we don't look as cute. Xmas Smile
Hope your Ok wrecktangled? Hope you had a lovely Christmas?

I weighted myself this morning, well it was a sock.
I've put on half a stone.
That's just f Om me eyeballing food and not actually logging it.

It really comes back with a vengeance.
I'm still having my takeaway Friday.
But I'm logging it as best I can.
I needed this slip up,to make me accountable.

73kittycat73 · 30/12/2021 21:36

I weighed in this morning too. Back up to 14st 2lbs. Blush I had got down to around 11 1/2 stone. Started today, but will still have a roast on New Years Day. Will be weighing monthly. Very good luck to you BorderlineHappy. We can cheer each other on!
Hope you are OK today PaperMonster. Thinking of you. x

BorderlineHappy · 31/12/2021 14:18

Ah @73kittycat73 you can do it.
@PaperMonster how are you today.
Hope you're feeling better.

Is it to early for wine,I'm not asking for a friend it's for me🤣

73kittycat73 · 31/12/2021 19:37

Well, since yesterday morning I haven't had any chocolate, no caffeine (Was back to drinking 2lts of Dr. Pepper Zero a day.) and tried a new sleep aid and have felt like...shit. Grin lol I woke up aching and tired.
I tried the sleep aid night before last and whilst it didn't help with sleep, I really felt relaxed. Tried it last night and I was out like a light for almost 11 hours. Something that works, yay! I think maybe it was a case of catching up on sleep, but still having more catching up to do iyswim? Maybe that's why I was still so shattered. Also, I think some of the aches were because I was out like a light and hardly moved. I was a bit stiff when I woke up.
Headache is probably from the lack of caffeine. It's gone now anyway.
Anyway, I'm still determined to stick with this. I'm not trying to diet as such, more a holistic healthy life kind of approach, which includes sleep and self care. Will go for short walks again soon too.
Tell your friend Wink it's OK for wine as it's New Years Eve. Grin Are you staying up for midnight? I usually do but I don't want to break my sleep habit before it's even really begun.
May I just say Happy New Year to you, @PaperMonster and @WreckTangled. I hope we all have a prosperous, happy, safe, and well year. Take care all. x

Hello all! Been out and about all today. Been lovely. Yesterday I felt terrible! Headache, arm started hurting again - but I’d not slept well at all.

That’s good about the sleep aid! Long May it work! Daughter and I are staying up - but I could do with going to bed really!!

Happy new year @73kittycat73, @WreckTangled and @BorderlineHappy xxx

BorderlineHappy · 01/01/2022 15:29

Happy New Year to all.

My cat got poisoned last night.
Hes fine now,got him to the vets.Hes still a bit out of it.

I was my neighbours went to the guards but they cant do anything because we have no proof.
IM so annoyed.

PaperMonster · 01/01/2022 18:22

Oh no, poor cat. Glad he’s ok. Tired and grumpy today cos of staying up til midnight last night with daughter. She’s much the same!!! Off to panto tomorrow. And, fingers crossed, I shall meet my Internet buddy this coming week!

73kittycat73 · 01/01/2022 20:35

Hello. Smile Nice to see you are OK PaperMonster. Smile How is the head and arm today? I hope you enjoy the panto tomorrow. Which one is it, if you don't mind me asking? Good luck with the meeting, I hope it's a lovely catch up for you. Smile
Oh no BorderlineHappy, that's terrible. I'm glad he's doing OK. Must have been quite an upsetting shock for you . (((hugs))) Did you stay up till midnight too?
I went to bed about 10.30 last night. Grin I was in a strange mood. Turned off the PC, tried to watch TV. Have loads of stuff I recorded over Christmas, but none of it appealed to me. Tried to read a book but just couldn't get into it. So I took myself to bed. Only thing for it in those circumstances, sleep it off and wake up feeling better. Which I did. Smile Sleep aid didn't work so well last night but I think that was me. I kept thinking, 'Any minute now I'll drop off. It worked yesterday, it should work today...' Of course I didn't drop off till gone midnight. I think the fireworks would have woken me up anyway! lol
We are having out New Years roast dinner tomorrow. Looking forward to that. Did remember getting up in the night and having a bit e of choc. Only two Celebrations, which is a recored for me and very restrained. Grin
It's so wierd to think this time a week ago was Christmas day! I finished packing away all the decorations and tree today. Cleaned out the small cupboard I keep them in today. Threw out 3 bin bags of stuff! Can't do any more really now anyway (Have the right cleaning out/sorting bug going on. I keep buying storage boxes and solutions!) as the wheelie bins are full and they are not coming to empty them 'til Tuesday.
Do either of you have the TV channel 'Really'? Do you like stuff like OCD Cleaners, How Clean Is Your House, Stacey Soloman's Sort Your Life out In Seven Days? Well there is a new show starting on Wednesday 5th January, 9pm on Really called, 'The Big Clean.' Looks quite interesting. I'm quite looking forward to it. I've set it up to record already. I hope it's as good as it looks! I used to really love How Clean Is Your House. Smile

Hi @73kittycat73, my shoulder blade has been niggly this past few days but the arm’s ok, just had that one day of being a bit pained. Not sure if this is all part of it healing. Got a headache tonight though - but not been out in the fresh air today. We’re off to see Snow White. Looking forward to it!

No, not got that channel. I know it’s a comedy, but did you ever see The Cleaner? It was so funny! I’m obsessed with cleaning products now part of my working week is cleaning!!

Am hoping OH takes down the decs tomorrow whilst we’re at the panto. I’ve taken down my cards and cut them into gift tags but that’s about it!

73kittycat73 · 03/01/2022 21:11

Hi. Smile Glad your arm is feeling better. Must be the weather for headaches! I don't usually suffer from them but I had a doozy of one yesterday. Had a lay down for a few hours and it went so got back up again but it came back with a vengeance. A couple of weeks ago I opened my kitchen cupboard door and something feel out. I bent down to pick it up and upon standing again I wacked my head on the bottom of the cupboard door. Hurt like buggery for a while but didn't think much more of it. I've been having headaches on and off ever since. I did Google it (I know, I know. Grin ) and if I did damage it/fracture, it takes 3-6 months recovery and all the Drs can do is prescribe painkillers anyway. It's not so bad today. Just lingering a bit.
How did Snow White go? I hope it was a lot of fun. Grin
I'll have to look for The Cleaner. Is it on a terrestrial channel? Or Netflix, etc?
Have your decorations come down yet? I haven't really felt the post Christmas blues this year. Just a little, but I want it to be summer now and be out in the warm sun in the garden relaxing. Grin

Hi everyone just a quick update Rocco is on the mend. The guards are not interested in pursuing this.

I have found out its a poison used by pest control companies and its highly regulated. It cant be bought over the counter unless you are a pest controller.
