Decorations are now down, hurrah! Snow White was so much fun! Had a great day!

The Cleaner was a BBC one I think. It’s made me have a crush on Greg Davies Blush

That’s a bit rubbish about the guards not being interested, especially with the substance being a regulated one. Glad to hear Rocco’s on the mend though.

Back to normal today - quite nice really!

BorderlineHappy · 05/01/2022 13:04

Yes I actually know what day it is today 🤣
Kids back in school tomorrow, finally a bit of peace.
Rocco is still wobbly but he's eating well and going the loo.So he's on the mend.

PaperMonster · 05/01/2022 20:02

Aaaaaw, keep on getting better Rocco! My friend is having to re home her two cats which is quite sad. Wish I could help her but our old lady would be very upset!

Hows everyone today.Freezing cold here.
Got in contact with a local councillor and he's been on to the gardai and it's been escalated to the inspector.
I just want to be left in peace.
I'm not sleeping well cause I'm worried about what else they will do.

I've a dr's appointment on Monday about this.My nerves are in shreds.

PaperMonster · 07/01/2022 19:00

Oh @BorderlineHappy so sorry to hear you’re being affected so badly. Fingers crossed that it can all be sorted out. Big hugs to you xxx

It’s freezing here too. We had really stinging hailstones at lunchtime today.

I met my online friend yesterday finally. He was lovely.

73kittycat73 · 07/01/2022 19:50

Hello to you both. Smile Sorry I haven't been around, I've been organizing. Grin I have a thing about cupboards being tidy so have been having a big sort out of them all. I think I'm on black bin bag number 4 or 5. Very much enjoying it though. I've bought so many storage boxes of all sizes! lol I also bought draw dividers and canisters for cotton buds and cotton balls. Really got the storage bug. Smile
BorderlineHappy, so glad to hear Rocco is getting better. Sorry you have shit neighbours that would do that to an innocent cat. I'm glad your counsellor is taking things seriously, hopefully something will come out of it. Good luck for Monday with the Doc. I hope they listen and help you. Sending big (((HUGS))) your way.
Hi PaperMonster. It's good meeting your friend went well. I bet it was nice to catch up? Will you still continue to stay in touch?
It was a bit chilly here today (But I kept getting hot flushes! lol) but nothing like yesterday or the day before. It was freezing then! Supposed to get milder but wetter here. I don't need to go out till Monday anyway (Local shop, electric on pay as you go meter. Need to top it up.). Oh yeah, had a leaflet from them, they do white chocolate Snickers. I love white chocolate! Grin Can't have any though. I've been working my way through eliminating things to see what causes my hot flushes. They are particularly nasty because they always start with an episode of anxiety. I'll be doing my own thing then I'm hit by this wave of doom and anxiety, then when it goes I get the hot flush. Really unpleasant. I don't always realise that I'm going to have a hot flush with it either. So, I've stopped Dr. Pepper Zero, I'm drinking squash with water. Got better but realised it's chocolate (Or so I thought) causing it. I've noticed it definitely affects my anxiety anyway. But, I had one Celebrations last night, but I had about three hot flushes today, but luckily without the anxiety. SO I'm going to try and keep the no chocolate up, but for other reasons too. If I'm up after midnight I find it hard to sleep. The only thing that used to work to get me off to sleep was getting up and eating chocolate. I presume from the resulting BS crash after. But, I did that a few nights ago and got woken up at 6am with really bad acid reflux. That's happen a few times lately so I'm trying to avoid it if I can. I haven't been too bad sleep wise lately, That sleep aid really works. I'd say rather than every other night getting sleep now, I'm getting two nights sleep then one not so good. It's an improvement though!
Gah, I've gone on a bit there haven't I? Grin I hope you a re both OK for now, neighbours aside, and have a wonderful evening. Smile

So, are the hot flushes menopause related? Are or you not of an age for that yet?

We’re now FB friends, but I suspect our weeks of intense texting might decline now! 🤣🤣

73kittycat73 · 08/01/2022 11:26

I had a medical menopause a few years ago (Hysterectomy due to endometrial cancer.) but I did have early menopause symptoms when I was 42. I caught the cancer by keep asking the Drs why my periods had come back. The symptoms I had with the early menopause was severe sweating on exertion. The hot flushes are definitely related! I've only had them since the hysterectomy. I can't take HRT as I was told I can't take anything hormonal because of the cancer. I've just checked though, I have two cups of coffee a day (Nescafe Cappuccino instant sachets) and I've just checked. I thought they were decaffeinated but they're not. Sad The only decaffeinated one they do is unsweetened to. I will buy some for my shopping on Monday and gently phase the old one out.
Blimey, I don't smoke, drink, holiday, cutting down on sweet stuff and now no caffeine. I better fell good at the end of this!

PaperMonster · 08/01/2022 12:32

Oh wow @73kittycat73. I’m 53 this year and keep wondering when the menopause will hit! I’d been on the pill for years but last summer I stopped taking it as I couldn’t drive to the clinic because of my arm. I thought I would see what happens. I had two minor periods about six weeks apart. Then nothing until this week! So I have no idea!!!

Yes, listing that makes you sound unintentionally rather virtuous so it best be doing you some good 🤣🤣

Absolutely chucking it down here. No chance of a stroll today so busying myself with little cleaning jobs I never get round to like dusting the cuddly shelf in daughter’s bedroom and top of the kitchen cupboards. And finally got round to finishing the clear out of my old work stuff - and found my glasses! Don’t need them often but bedtime reading has been a bit tricky recently so hopefully they’ll help.

BorderlineHappy · 08/01/2022 16:04

@73kittycat73 I've been through the menapause I'm 48.
Haven't had a period in about 2 years.
My ma went through it early as well.

No symptoms apart from insomnia.

My son had to do an antigen test this morning, somebody in his class had a positive atigen test.
Luckily my son's was negative.

PaperMonster · 08/01/2022 20:50

That’s good news about your son @BorderlineHappy. My daughter’s in an NHS study about Covid and the flu so needs to test this weekend as the kit’s come through.

I have been so hungry today! Dunno what that’s all about.

Think the bloody menopause has forgotten about me - I seriously am not liking having a period.

73kittycat73 · 09/01/2022 20:25

Ooh yes, glasses PaperMonster, you just reminded to jot down a reminder to book my SpecSavers home visit. I have glasses for the TV and PC, but none work for reading. If I use the ones my mum picked up for me from the pound shop, I have the book/magazine inches from my face! Grin I really need a new test, I can't really read anymore. I sit with the tv guide at arms length to read it! (Am long sighted.)
I kind of wish for you that your menopause would hurry up. I can understand your frustration. I would gladly put up with hot flushes so I didn't have to have periods again! I started when I was 11 years old (Maybe that's why I started peri earlier too?) and they were always very heavy, and painful.
Ooh, little cleaning jobs sounds like fun. Smile I was doing my bathroom cabinet and under bed storage earlier. (I keep the bathroom over flow like shampoo, toothpaste, etc in there.) I swear I have more toothpaste in there than boots! Lol, about 20 tubes. Blush I stock up on them when the price goes down. I guess now though I better not for a while. Grin (Stacey Soloman said on her, 'Sort Your Like Out In Seven Days' programme that you don't know what you've got if you are not organized. How right she was.)
It's good That you haven't got too many side effects from the menopause BorderlineHappy. I swear by that sleep oil I posted about before. I have had insomnia on and off since I was about 7-8 years old. (My mum took me to the Drs. and right in front of me gave my mum a medicine bottle and told her to fill it with sugar water and administer it to me at night. I should then think it was a proper medicine and fall asleep via a placebo. I don't know if he thought I was deaf or stupid!) It really does help me sleep and I've tried loads of pillow sprays before, Rescue Remedy's (They kept giving me oral thrush!) that never did. Only had one drop last night and didn't feel groggy all day today, just this morning, but then I was up late last night.
So glad your son is negative. Star
Good for your daughter to sign up for the study PaperMonster. Star Well done that young lady. Smile
Are you due on? I used to get famished at certain points in my cycle.

That doctor sounds barking @73kittycat73. I remember mine as a child - a really round man wearing a three piece suit with a fob watch and smoking cigars!!!

I’m just finishing this random period. Wonder if that had anything to do with feeling hungry?

Trying to work out when to do this test with my daughter- I’ve to post it back in one of the special postboxes but being out in the sticks means a bit of a trek to post it!

73kittycat73 · 10/01/2022 18:21

smoking cigars Omg, imagine if that happened now...lol He sounds a bit intimidating, but strangely cool...Grin
Are you still feeling hungry today? I hope that's gone for you.
Good luck with the long walk to the postbox. Is it a weekly thing?
I've done a bit more sorting out today. Well, more like moving stuff from one cupboard to another. I have a plan! I really do. In my head I know where everything will end up. It's just a bit like Tetris. Grin

Hows everyone today.
Rocco is back tormenting us,still a bit wobbly but hes so much better.

Police cant do anything unless we catch NDN doing something.Even teh letter i got off my dr is no good.
Got some sleeping tablets off her, they seem to be doing the trick.

PaperMonster · 12/01/2022 23:00

Aaah @BorderlineHappy that’s rubbish about the Police. Glad the sleeping tablets are doing some good.

Been a busy week here!

@73kittycat73 I don’t know how frequently she’ll have to test. I’ll just await the next test to go through the trauma again!!! had to drive to the postbox as it’s too far away. Well
It’s about four miles, but the roads aren’t the type you’d want to walk along!!

PaperMonster · 13/01/2022 21:21

Funeral today - a streamed one. Feeling glum and ate half a box of Ferraro rocher. Hope all are doing well xxx

73kittycat73 · 14/01/2022 21:29

Sorry to hear about the funeral PaperMonster. I don't blame you for eating the chocolate. Flowers I hope you are feeling a bit better now?
Glad to hear Rocco is on the mend BorderlineHappy. Smile Flowers Good that the sleeping tablets are working. It always helps when you can get a good nights sleep. Do they make you feel groggy the next day?
I've just been busy still organizing my cupboards. Have two to go. Really full ones but they are both in my tiny kitchen. It's a case of once starting them, I have to finish it. I will do it soon...lol

Feeling fine now thank you. Had lunch out for dad’s birthday- had chicken, salad and coleslaw. It was delicious! Walked about five miles today and now relaxing in a hot bath! Am using a bath bomb which I was given for Christmas - it was green, but it’s made the water go red!!

BorderlineHappy · 15/01/2022 21:26

Great news my my ds asked his gf to marry him and she said yes.
Im over the moon.

So happy for them.

PaperMonster · 15/01/2022 21:43

Oh @BorderlineHappy that is such lovely news! Congrats to your son and his girlfriend! X

73kittycat73 · 16/01/2022 12:25

OOh, congratulations BorderlineHappy, and to your DS and soon to be DIL. Flowers How exciting. Are you going to buy a hat? Grin
Ooh, green, and red water PaperMonster? It didn't dye your skin did it?! Shock Wink Grin
My nieces were supposed to be coming over today but my brother (Their dad.) rang earlier absolutely furious. He picked them up yesterday from their mum's. They just happened to mention last night that there mum was ill and had tested positive for Covid!
So, they are not coming round now, and I don't know what my brother and partner are going to do about isolating and their jobs. I suppose they are just going to have to. Confused

Sorry I've been AWOL. We all got Covid (apart from dh) and works busy, lots going on with the dc etc etc. Happy new year to everyone. I'm trying to be a bit healthier but it's not going so well....

BorderlineHappy · 16/01/2022 13:16

Thanks everyone this is the incentive to get back on track.

COVID is rampant here @WreckTangled,boys in my son's class have it
But we've all tested negative.
And as long as there's no symptoms they can go to school.
They're obviously devastated about that😂

PaperMonster · 16/01/2022 16:21

Oh my goodness @73kittycat73 fingers crossed they don’t contract it. The bath bomb didn’t dye either my skin or the bath funnily!

And good to hear that you’re all doing ok @WreckTangled.
