As title, what property can you get in your area on a budget of £400,000?

Probably a studio. North London. Sob

catfunk · 22/06/2021 23:13

2 bed flat - or a nice 1 bed perhaps with a bit of outside space

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 22/06/2021 23:17

I quite like the look of this one. Near lots of riverside hiking trails but almost in the city.

Bromley (zone 5 London) 2 bed flat or masionette

Zenithbear · 22/06/2021 23:43

3 bed new build.

3 x 2 bed terraces in the town 5 miles away.

One bed cottage where our holiday cottage is.

3 bed- detatched in some parts of town, semi in some of the “naicer” roads.

Some would come in slightly under and leave you a bit of money to do up.

Market town in SE.

1-2 bedroom flat in an ex-council estate.

SW London, Z2

whoknew23 · 23/06/2021 00:12

Nothing is that expensive in my area. I could buy a few decent houses for that.

BoredOfThisShit · 23/06/2021 00:16

4 bedroom house

DaddyCool60 · 23/06/2021 00:19

@TheLovelinessOfDemons

4 bedroom flat. Fulham.
Really? Where? I’m in Putney. Shock
Bloodybridget · 23/06/2021 03:04

There were 89 results for 350k - 400k within a mile of my postcode, I only glanced at a couple at the top end, one was a quite decent looking 2-bed ex council flat, split level, with a balcony.
If I narrow the search to within a quarter of a mile, five results, but three of them still two beds. One looks ok, they're all on busy roads. Hackney, London.

5 bed detached new build type with double garage, decent area - Scotland. Alternatively in a sought after area in Glasgow city it will get you a flat (albeit a large and very beautiful one!). The vast difference in property prices always amazes me.

Rubyupbeat · 23/06/2021 10:13

1 bedroom flat, very sad for 1st time buyers.

A 2 bedroom flat! A three bed flat would be £560,000 plus.

MangoFango · 23/06/2021 11:56

It'd be small 1 bed in Fulham, think 4 bed was tongue in cheek.

Either that, or there's another Fulham ...

FakeColinCaterpillar · 23/06/2021 12:12

NE. 4 bedroom detached (new) or a 3 bed bungalow.
