As title, what property can you get in your area on a budget of £400,000?

Anywhere from a 2 bed semi to a 4 bed detached to a 6 bed terraced depending on the area!

TheMotherlode · 22/06/2021 21:43

3 bed semi in a nice suburban area. Or 2 bed terrace in a more central/trendy part of the city. Bristol.

JaninaDuszejko · 22/06/2021 21:44

4 bed detached in the best part of town. I live in the NE but £400K is well above the average house price in most parts of the UK .

Maddermax · 22/06/2021 21:45

5 bed detached with at least 2 acres of garden.

Nohomemadecandles · 22/06/2021 21:46

You'd get a nice 4 bed detached in a lovely leafy area.

underneaththeash · 22/06/2021 21:48

2 bed flat in our village!

Linnet · 22/06/2021 21:48

A 5 bedroomed semi detached Victorian villa

CornishGem1975 · 22/06/2021 21:50

I bought my house 3 years ago. It was £450k. Nice area but not what I would call plush. 4 bed, terraced. Postage stamp garden. But it's mine and I love it.

ChuckNoWorriesMyWay · 22/06/2021 21:50

Decent 1 bed or a 2 bed in need of a refurb.

North London. Surprised you could get so much for your money here tbh.

LadyCatStark · 22/06/2021 21:53

Our 5 bedroom detached newbuild and enough change for a nice new car to put on the drive.

Youvegotafriendinme · 22/06/2021 21:53

2 bed mid terrace

dopenguinsdance · 22/06/2021 21:54

This, in Trafford, a complete doer-upper www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/91080814#/

Camomila · 22/06/2021 21:55

A 3 bed terrace in a nice suburban bit of town, or a 2/3 bed flat more centrally.

emmathedilemma · 22/06/2021 21:57

In my immediate area a 3 bedroom flat with shared stairwell, on street parking and shared communal garden. Houses with gardens are closer to £500k :(

Cotswolds. Anything from a (very fancy) 2 bed flat to a 5 bed house!

TheTuesdayPringle · 22/06/2021 22:08

3-bedroom new-build townhouse with courtyard garden in an area I wouldn't live in. Average house price is £640K

MrsDThomas · 22/06/2021 22:09

My house now. Valued at £425k

Small holding, land, detached traditional welsh cottage with no neighbours -apart from those who bleat.

Mintjulia · 22/06/2021 22:09

2 bed victorian cottage near the canal or a 1980s 3-bed house with a garden.

Or a 4-bed ex-housing association house.

Hampshire

Progress2019 · 22/06/2021 22:09

Rural 4/5 bedroomed detached home.
Large 3 bed bungalow.
2 three bedroom semi detached houses.

Okigen · 22/06/2021 22:13

A tiny 2 beds 20 mins walking from Tower Bridge. I would love to live only 10 mins from that bridge but that would add another £100k to the budget Grin
