How far away do you live from family?

I was talking to DH about this this evening, my family have always lived within 15 mins of each other until we moved an hour and a half away. Sometimes it feels like I’m too far away from them so I was just wondering what everyone else does?

We are 2.5 hours away so a day trip is not possible which is annoying. 1.5 hours is ok for a day trip.

88 miles, according to Google.
By public transport it takes 3.5 hours. I don't have a car.

All my family live within 20 minutes of each other, except for me. I live 200 miles from my family. My in-laws live in another country (in Europe so short haul). It would take at least 4 hours to travel to either of our parents. But it also took me an hour and a half to get home from work yesterday (which isn’t uncommon) so I don’t see an hour and a half as a long drive.

I'm 450miles-ish from my family.

Around an hour from my parents, nearly two hours from DH's parents. It would be nice to be a bit closer but it's basically fine.

I’m on the other side of the world from my family, and about 1.5 hours from the in laws.

100 miles from inlaws, 70 miles from my mother, 55 miles from my step mother, geographically closest sibling is about 10 miles away (but a 1 hour+ drive as across London).

120 miles.

3hr drive to my parents, Grandma and sister's brood. And 3hr drive in the opposite direction to ILs.

200+ miles from most of them, still not far enough. 😬

Google maps tells me it’s 1516km and I feel every kilometre. I haven’t been home in 2 years

About 45 mins away.

3 hours from my parents and 4 1/2 from PIL, though that’s without stopping.

Closest we’ve ever been was about an hour from PIL.

It seems to vary a lot then!. My DH lives in a different country to his family (doesn’t see them anyway), but I think being a child and having family around me all the time it just feels weird being quite far away from our family.

20 mins from MIL with whom we are NC.

I live 2 and a 1/2 hours from my parents and now it's hard. They are elderly and old so a round trip in a day once a month now happens which will ramp up to weekly when needed. I wish I could just pop in daily.

Not far enough!

45 miles away from my family, DH's are a mile away. I do miss my family especially now I have children.

3hrs from my folks, 4hrs from DH's. We do live in a wonderfully silly inaccessible bit of Wales though 😉

I live a 3.5 hour drive from my parents and brother and a totally different 3 hour drive from my sister.

5 hours from DF, 2 hours from DM, 1.5-2 hours from siblings,

Ants and uncles spread out with times between 4 - 6 hours away.
