Right from the very start I knew it was him! That poor woman, having the life choked out of her for daring to leave her husband. A baby who will never know her mummy

Just heartbreaking

Agree Esther Dingley ringing major alarm bells. So awful for her loved ones.

Then quickly changed it to the present tense

I wondered if the police noticed

I knew it was him too, his story just didn’t make sense. Why would intruders just kill her and not the rest of the family? Poor Caroline and her dog 😢

I thought it was him but have to admit. I thought it was a different reason given the amount of money he said had gone. What a cold hearted bastard. Her family at the memorial must have hated being with him. If so many people thought he’d done it they must have had suspicions too. I keep thinking about that poor baby. Will he have been looking after the child since the murder? It makes me feel sick to think about it.

LOL Angry at not all men. That’s the first thought that came to you, LifeinPieces21, to defend men? Wow.

Another woman like us, like our daughters, gone

This.

And how many of them get away with it? I can think of one high profile story off the top of my head where it seems blindingly obvious the ex partner did it.

I am always suspicious when I see the stats on perinatal suicide, where there is a sudden and temporary shift from traditionally feminine ‘non-violent’ methods of suicide to the ‘violent’ ones favoured by men. I find it suspicious that this blip coincides with an increase in domestic violence against women.

@UKhun

Knew straight away.
Anyone else remember Gordon Wardell?

His wife was a building society manageress and he claimed they'd been attacked in their home by masked men and she was murdered for the door code. He even tied himself up and waited to be found by the police.

Early 90s probably. Knew it was him then too!

I remember that case and him appearing on the TV in a wheelchair appealing for help to catch the criminals, the first words out of my husband's mouth on seeing him were "He's guilty, he did it" and he said the same with this case too.

There were something odd about the whole narrative of this case - the £10k in cash, the men had a gun which they held to the baby's head but only Caroline was tortured and then strangled - why not shot, husband not a mark on him. If the robbers were as violent as he claimed they would have had no qualms about killing them all and they certainly wouldn't have left a witness alive who could identify them. The whole thing stunk.

Another one who knew straight away it was the husband. That poor woman and her poor baby.

Why oh why do some people on these sorts of threads feel the need to say NAMALT. We all know it's not all men. It doesn't ever need to be said. Sense the fucking tone.

Sickening.
And then for him to be the one caring for their little girl afterwards, sends shivers down your spine.
May that poor woman rest in peace and hopefully family can step in for that little baby.

Well said. And anyway, when it comes to violence, it nearly always bloody is. One of the biggest problems on the planet, literally. But it's so common that we don't even see it.

Dies anyone remeber the newlyweds who were ambushed in South Africa? The new wife was killed, then it all turned out to be a set up by the husband as he was gay

This is heartbreaking. What an evil f**r. To do that to his daughters mum. How dare he take her life.
How many lives has he destroyed by doing this 😔 that poor baby.
I knew something didn't add up, even more when the police went back to question him later.
Horrible, evil man. It's not fair that there are people capable of these things.

Awful news but my gut told me it was him from when it was first reported.

“Oh give over, I put Greek in the title so people would recognise the story”. Use her name then. Caroline Crouch was murdered.

What about the woman who disappeared in the pyrenees?

I’ve been wondering about that too…

I had a feeling the moment I saw him giving that first press conference the day after. Too calm for someone who had been tied up helplessly whilst his wife was murdered and his child was at risk!

I wonder if he'll tell the police everything that happened now. To try to get a lighter sentence.

I knew it was him! Poor woman and poor baby, my heart is aching. He posted online "together forever, have a nice trip my love" after 4 days what a sick man and sitting with this poor woman's mother at the funeral. Rip Caroline.

Yeah the story was a bit shonky. Greek police were clearly in it all along. Good work from them.

No, it's not all men, but it's more than enough. Rest easy, Caroline, and I hope her little girl is well looked after.

Yes - thought that too. I hope the husband is still helping the police to locate her.

And regarding this one in Greece - there was never a doubt in my mind that he had done this atrocious thing. He killed his dog and put his baby next to her dead mother for extra drama. He’s not safe to ever be out of jail. Thank goodness the police could see through him.

Yes and he’s still walking free - I’ve seen him around my local area many times. He wasn’t found guilty.

Heartbreaking 💔 I don't think it will ever end, but I hope we can get better at preventing it.

This is a really interesting study which shows there are clear indicators prior to a domestic murder. In reality though, I'm not sure there is much the police can do at these previous stages which could realistically prevent it.
