Nostalgic 90s teen ....

Just remembered 999 with Michael Burke. Gave me a lifelong fear of swimming after seeing an episode where a girl's hit got caught in a fan in the pool!

Impulse 02 gassing everyone.

Snatch the dog everything especially bedding!

Swimming badges sewn onto costumes. Found a cossie in a charity shop for 20p with 1000mt sewn on it which deluded everyone in my Y6 swimming class - I couldn't swim 1000mt 😂

Anymore?

I loved Dewberry. I also loved the Body Shop animal soaps.

Overdon · 13/06/2021 23:24

Can’t believe no one has mentioned The Word! . Remember Kurt Cobain on and and early Oasis performance. Low points being the ‘I’ll do anything to be on TV feature.
Also, Twin Peaks, still obsessed with it now.

VaggieMight · 13/06/2021 23:48

I remember watching an episode of crimewatch where the e-fit of the suspect was so disturbing I couldn't sleep, and i was cacking my pants on the way to and from school in case he was out there.

I found Crimewatch generally scary, but the e-fits were hilarious. The regular family joke of saying it looked like my dad never tired Grin

VaggieMight · 14/06/2021 00:04

Yes! The Word. I'll do anything to get on the TV, the one licking sweat off people was particularly disgusting. I'm pretty sure that segment would be shown to any class studying the birth of reality tv.

That tampon throwing from L7 Shock

TwatCat · 14/06/2021 00:10

Those big massive hanging watches that went on your bedroom wall.

TwatCat · 14/06/2021 00:11

The watches that you could change the outer coloured ring on to match your outfit

StooriMidori · 14/06/2021 00:25

The Girlie Show! Sara Cox and Sarah Cawood presented it. I remember a periods themed episode where the big entrance legs had a tampon string between them and they parodied an ad for sanitary towels where the woman was on a hormonal rage fuelled rampage! If I remember rightly she had a gun which she manically mouthed at one point before ripping off a pad covered in blood!

Quaggars · 14/06/2021 00:32

Ohhh had completely forgotten about Purple Ronnie!!
Used to love those poems and drawings lol

Ha its still the 90s for me, I wear DMs, denim shorts and colourful tights even now Grin

Body Shop bath pearls
Dewberry perfume - Body Shop used to do big glass bottles of perfume with a glass tester thing, you could get your perfume bottles refilled (and other stuff)
Body Shop against animal cruelty cloth tote bags for carrying your GCSE folders in
Those chunky flower shaped buckled leather belts
Embroidered waistcoats
Mood rings
Spectacular nail varnish
Queuing up at Poster Place to buy gig tickets for the NEC and being really pissed off if they cost more than £15
Snakebite and black being served without having to order the components separately
Getting in everywhere for free because I was "seeing" the hardest bouncer in town Blush
Bodysuits
Platform shoes
Blossom hats

Ah those were the days!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 14/06/2021 00:37

30 years later my DD has my Snatch the dog duvet cover, pillow case & fitted sheet on her bed!
The quality of the bedding is amazing as still looks new.

VienneseWhirligig · 14/06/2021 00:41

Oh and does anyone remember this: the Not Particularly Orange range?

HarrietSchulenberg · 14/06/2021 00:46

Bakedtatie I was ridiculously excited to have a brief stop in Luss a few years back, having heard of it in a PlayAway poem in the 1970s.
"Pimpernell Petroleum is a bold, bad bus,
She doesn't care for travelling from Glasgow to Luss.
Pop goes her engine, crunch go her gears,
Her passengers are sitting with their fingers in their ears."
To stop at the real Luss was sooooo cool (to me).

ImprobablePuffin · 14/06/2021 01:39

I don't want to brag but I was briefly seeing a guy who was featured in an episode of 999. He was sucked into a swimming pool filter.

YukoandHiro · 14/06/2021 01:41

I remember that episode! I still comes to mine every time I go to a pool.

Remember the javelin through the back of the neck one?

ImprobablePuffin · 14/06/2021 01:44

Also 'Spectacular' nail polish was my brand because I did a quiz in Just Seventeen and it told me so.

ImprobablePuffin · 14/06/2021 01:45

Oooh yes and Body Shop Vanilla Musk body spray

ImprobablePuffin · 14/06/2021 01:48

El Dorado...anyone?

IAmDaveTheSerialShagger · 14/06/2021 02:05

London's Burning and Casualty bring back amazing weekend TV memory's!

MonicaGellerBing · 14/06/2021 02:08

Taping the top 40 off the radio on a Sunday and trying to press 'play and record' after the talking stopped but before the song began! So stressful haha

Wantingtomove123 · 14/06/2021 02:29

Remembering all of the things mentioned. Especially Sunset Beach. Used to go to my friends at lunch time to watch and get late getting back to school. Then would watch the whole omnibus on weekends. And remember Saved by The Bell and California Dreams. Athena, Woolworths where my friend and I would buy lip barm.
Also Gladiators. Racoons the cartoon. Around the World in 80 days with Willy Fog cartoon. Alex the girl with powers (can’t remember the name). Gummy Bears. Anyone remember that cartoon in summer holiday mornings with an ox? I think he was called Olly? I still remember the tune.

frankie001 · 14/06/2021 07:03

Police camera action : always joined in with the “he’s crashed he’s crashed” in opening credits.

Plastic baby dummy necklaces, always on black cord.

@ImprobablePuffin I take your date and raise it. My dad appeared on 999. Rescuing a boy from our local woods.
