Just remembered 999 with Michael Burke. Gave me a lifelong fear of swimming after seeing an episode where a girl's hit got caught in a fan in the pool!

Impulse 02 gassing everyone.

Snatch the dog everything especially bedding!

Swimming badges sewn onto costumes. Found a cossie in a charity shop for 20p with 1000mt sewn on it which deluded everyone in my Y6 swimming class - I couldn't swim 1000mt 😂

Anymore?

We were talking about Prove-It cards the other day.

I loved Athena posters.

Purple Ronnie

NerrSnerr · 13/06/2021 21:49

I loved 999 too- can still hear the short alarming music between scenes.

I loved Blossom, Round the Twist. Used to watch CBBC in the broom cupboard, then Neighbours and Home and Away.

I loved Let Loose, had a blue Sweater Shop jumper and my first CD was an M People album (the one with Search for the Hero on it).

BrownEyedGirl80 · 13/06/2021 21:49

I fucking loved sunset beach! I used to watch the omnibus on a Saturday afternoon

scaredsadandstuck · 13/06/2021 21:51

Aww love all the 90s nostalgia.

I also alway imagine Michael B narrating things if I'm doing anything vaguely dangerous!

Phone boxes - we used to call boys from phone boxes so our mums wouldn't listen in!

DMs and cut off denims over opaque tights. Bodies!
And yes being able to get into the pub at 16/17 with a photocopy of your birth certificate that you'd tipex-ed and changed the date on!

Cupcakegirl13 · 13/06/2021 21:53

Tammy Girl was THE place to shop , discman and headphones listening to Bon Jovi Crossroads thinking I was the coolest kid in town 🤣

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 13/06/2021 21:56

The Bill, with the footsteps during the credits.

Spice Girls changing the game for young girls - oh the beautiful and ridiculous platform shoes too Grin

Long, hot summers. I never remember a rainy days in the 90's though I suspect it is more to do with nostalgia than meteorology Grin

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 13/06/2021 21:56

Playing Dream Phone!

TheLeadbetterLife · 13/06/2021 22:00

Ha ha I had that dog duvet cover too - didn’t know it was called Snatch.

I used to love listening to Mark and Lard on their 10pm to midnight radio 1 show. Was always knackered for school. Then trying to listen to as much of the Chris Evans breakfast show in the mornings before having to leave the house.

effiehabb · 13/06/2021 22:01

Wow, earlier today I was literally telling my 16yo daughter about that episode with the hair getting stuck and someone having to give mouth to mouth to keep her alive under the water as I was trying to justify why I tell her to put her hair up in the pool.
That programme gave me some serious anxiety issues.

TheGirlWhoLived · 13/06/2021 22:01

Oh the memories Grin

For me it was the 999 when the bike spoke freakishly popped out of the bike and through the boys leg, that was grim, or the one that fell into the spiky fence? Bleargh

Loved Tammy girl or Mk one if we went up to the big city. Used lots of hair mascara but only clear mascara on my eyes! I had the widest flares known to man, as soon as it rained they sucked up all the water. I miss it so much

SingingSands · 13/06/2021 22:12

I bloody loved the 90s. I recently bought this tshirt in New Look Grin

Omg I've found my people! Loved 999!

MissDollyMix · 13/06/2021 22:24

My DM still has my old Snatch duvet cover. She now gets it out for DD when she comes to stay!
Also remember that episode of 999 with the girl who caught her hair in the jacuzzi. Scarred for life by that I was!
Testing out all the really cheap makeup in Miss Selfridge on a Saturday afternoon, pick and mix from woolies, Bliss and Sugar magazine, platform trainers, Heartbreak High, saved by the bell, TFI Friday….ahh those were the days!

The Big Breakfast, California Dreams, Pugwall, I used to love the holidays so I could spend the morning watching tv.

My Dad still tells me to remember to tie up my hair/the DC hair when I take them swimming after seeing that episode.

MozzchopsThirty · 13/06/2021 22:52

Omg I had the Snatch bedding in blue & pink for my bunk beds Grin

Loved shopping in Chelsea Girl, Dolcis, Ravel, Snob.
Also wearing Naf Naf, Benetton, sock shop, Levi's

Drinking taboo & lemonade or Malibu & pineapple

Going to the Ritzy with fake ID

Ah those were the days

SunshineSum · 13/06/2021 22:55

Sunset beach is on YouTube. Yes, all of it.

Bon Jovi- crossroads. Oh my heart 😍😍
Kulio · 13/06/2021 22:57

I remember watching an episode of crimewatch where the e-fit of the suspect was so disturbing I couldn't sleep, and i was cacking my pants on the way to and from school in case he was out there.

SunshineSum · 13/06/2021 22:57

Been on there for years. Presumably they're relaxed about copyright issues due to not being able to find a subscription platform that would pay for the right to screen it. Because with such high quality telly, it's impossible to determine a value.

roobicoobi · 13/06/2021 22:57

Everything on this thread plus white musk and dewberry from the body shop Grin

Kulio · 13/06/2021 23:03

Jelly shoes, inflatable furniture in my bedroom, aliens in goo (why?!), kids tv after school followed by neighbours, saturday morning tv (going live, which was replaced by live and kicking), cbbc and the broom cupboard, nightmare (always wanted to go on that show), spaced, spitting image (too young to 'get' it), magazines like just seventeen and bliss etc, those fruit flavoured lip glosses that had a roller ball tip, the body shop white musk and newberry scents, alanis morissette, bon jovi, endless summers, princess diana all over the news for various reasons, the spice girls, east 17, boyzone, take that.... I ache for my youth.
