Holiday was moved from last year to this year and now I'm here im having a shit time.

Dp is ill, sudden gall bladder trouble and in pain and indigestion all the time. 3 strong lots of antibiotics and he's no better, tired all the time, lost weight as he can't keep much down.

I'm upset because I hate seeing him from going from a fit and active man to one who is sleeping a lot. The kids dds 9 and 11 know there's something wrong but they don't know what. Theres talk of ultrasounds and ct scans..I'm convinced he has cancer.

We shouldn't have come but dp wanted to. I'm going to the very limited shows with the kids but most of it is prebooked the whole atmosphere just isn't the same..just not the same.

I could cry (no judging) just going to drink a large glass of wine instead

Oh OP - glad that he’s now been listened to snd in the ward. So sick of hearing stories of GPS fibbing people off.

I know you’re worried but there are other things this could be apart from cancer.

I hope you have answers soon so that you can move forward with correct treatment

pilates · 30/05/2021 09:10

So glad he’s now in hospital, when I started reading your early threads I did think this man needs to go to A & E immediately. I hope you get some answers soon and it does sound like he was let down badly by his doctor. Happy birthday 💐

justasking111 · 30/05/2021 09:11

@ghostmouse betsi cadwaldr my health board so I know how you feel. Hope you don't live too far from the hospital with the tourist traffic just now. Thinking of you

Happy Birthday OP 🎂
Hope you get get some good news about DH very soon.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 30/05/2021 09:28

Happy Birthday @ghostmouse
Hope DH is feeling a bit better and you get some answers soon.
In South Wales it’s a glorious morning, so good for drying all that holiday washing.
Look after yourself and take any offers of help that come your way xx

Flapflap1974 · 30/05/2021 09:33

Happy birthday to you and I wish reassuring news.

3scape · 30/05/2021 09:34

I hope you're all ok. My gallbladder saga went on for far too long. I hope your DH gets surgery to remove it. The bile, the pain, not sleeping and the utter exhaustion (mainly from not being able to eat) I remember all too well.
Wine for you x

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 09:40

Thank you all so so much

Bit of an update. The consultant has seen him, assessed him and depending on what ct scan throws up will be having an emergency op this afternoon.

Luckily I'm only a mile from the hospital so I'm just going to put some things in a bag for him and take it in x

Whatpaint · 30/05/2021 09:42

Oh wow, so glad he is finally getting treatment. Good luck to you both.

Weenurse · 30/05/2021 09:44

Good luck 💐

Notaroadrunner · 30/05/2021 09:53

Good to see they have taken it seriously and that he's in the best place now. Shame on his gp for fobbing him off. Best of luck with the op. With any luck he'll be home again soon. Glad your mum is nearby for support. Mind yourself! Flowers

ProbablyGryffindor · 30/05/2021 09:59

Glad he’s being well cared for OP - well done for making that happen. I hope he feels better soon. Best wishes to you and your family.

CalamityGladys · 30/05/2021 10:04

Hopefully things will start to improve all round. Look after yourselves x Flowers

RF75 · 30/05/2021 10:05

I really think there should be an collection of these type of threads so that next time a GP or Receptionist posts on here about being complained about during covid19, they can be pointed instantly to the threads so they understand why

I am so sorry OP that your husband has been treated like this by his GP. Hope things get better for him and all of you from now on.

PegasusReturns · 30/05/2021 10:08

I’m so glad you’ve made progress and I hope the surgery resolves the issue.

I had my gall bladder out ten years ago and prior to that suffered exactly the sort of symptoms you describe your DH having. It took living overseas to be taken seriously, the NHS treated it as something to be “lived with”.

newnortherner111 · 30/05/2021 10:10

I hope the surgery is successful and wish your DH a speedy recovery.

StartupRepair · 30/05/2021 10:16

Good luck to you both OP.

notagainohno · 30/05/2021 10:17

I'm so glad that he is finally getting treatment.
So sorry that your long awaited holiday was ruined.
I hope that things start to pick up soon.
Happy birthday.

Campervanna · 30/05/2021 10:17

@ghostmouse

Oh I'm so scared but thank you all.

His bloods are all over the place and they've just taken more. I've heard that cancer is detected this way and they can tell from bloods so I'm thinking the worst.

He has been on 3 strong lots of antibiotic and its made no difference at all so perhaps there is a blockage somewhere.

His indigestion pain is awful and when he's sick he brings up yellow stuff but the pain under his breastbone in the middle is always there.

I didn't know that the gall bladder empties into the stomach (I know I need lessons on anatomy)

It isn’t you who needs lessons on anatomy. The gallbladder doesn’t empty into the stomach. It empties into the duodenum, which is the first part of the small intestine, just below the stomach. Hope everything goes well with your dp and it isn’t cancer!
SirVixofVixHall · 30/05/2021 10:20

Glad he is in hospital now and being dealt with properly. A friend’s last gallstone flare up left him in hospital for a short while, and he had also lost a lot of weight. Anything that affects the liver makes you feel ghastly, and various other things can go wrong, so it could easily be something else and not cancer.

dottiedaisee · 30/05/2021 10:29

Well done op for getting your husband seen. Fingers crossed that he gets a diagnosis ASAP ...am wondering if he has pancreatitis which can happen with recurring cholecystitis 💐X

AnnaMagnani · 30/05/2021 10:33

Great news! Good-bye gallbladder and good riddance.
