Holiday was moved from last year to this year and now I'm here im having a shit time.

Dp is ill, sudden gall bladder trouble and in pain and indigestion all the time. 3 strong lots of antibiotics and he's no better, tired all the time, lost weight as he can't keep much down.

I'm upset because I hate seeing him from going from a fit and active man to one who is sleeping a lot. The kids dds 9 and 11 know there's something wrong but they don't know what. Theres talk of ultrasounds and ct scans..I'm convinced he has cancer.

We shouldn't have come but dp wanted to. I'm going to the very limited shows with the kids but most of it is prebooked the whole atmosphere just isn't the same..just not the same.

I could cry (no judging) just going to drink a large glass of wine instead

Thats Betsi cadwaladr health board for you.
Its in a mess

It took them nearly a year to scan my urgent cyst on my ovary. It wasn't until the consultant got in touch with me because I'd cancelled my appointment with him as yet again I hadn't been scanned prior that they gave me an appointment

Present yourself to GP/GDOCS overnight. He needs admitted to a surgical ward for blood tests and potentially IV antibiotics. The contant pain under the ribs concerns me that he had gallstone induced pancreatitis which needs to be closely monitored. A grown man should not be sleeping for hours and hours a day, if the pain is not being managed by analgesia and his symptoms aren't improving he needs to be an inpatient.

I barely tell people on threads to go to A&E but I absolutely would in this case.

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 01:29

Just a little update

We came home 2 days early and we phoned out of hours. Hes now sitting in a and e waiting for the surgical team for assessment.

Out of hours finally took him seriously. He's also anaemic which his gp overlooked ten days ago.

I feel bloody sick if I'm honest.

Hopefully you will get some answers and a plan 💐

Lofari · 30/05/2021 01:55

Thinking of you OP. He's in the right place and I'm glad they are finally taking it seriously.

adeleh · 30/05/2021 02:07

Thinking of you. Hope things go well for your DH.

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 02:10

Out of ours doc said there is definitely something else going on but now he should finally get answers.

Just waiting now.

I've got every suitcase to unpack and tons of washing to do in the morning. We got back at 5 and spent the evening waiting for phone calls.

Long night I think

Fingers crossed for you and your husband OP

RickiTarr · 30/05/2021 02:12

Hopefully they’ll get him sorted out quickly this way. It’s no fun waiting for news, though. It’s easier when it’s yourself than your family. Flowers

Just my observation from friends and family, (and myself), but pancreas trouble often comes along with gallstone attacks, and it’s bloody sore. Your DH must be a bit of a trooper if he was determined to visit the beach mid-attack. At least he can stop being all tough about it now.

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 02:30

Hes one of these who in his own words 'just gets on with it'

Which is bloody infuriating at times because he doesn't tell me how bad things can get

He collapsed 2 years ago bleeding from his arse..turns out he had a massive polyp in his bowel that had been bleeding on and off for 10 years but thought it was nothing!

Ended up in Liverpool hospital having specialist procedure to remove it as it was that big. What an idiot. Luckily all clear.

We never made it to the beach. Packed up this morning and came home.

At least you’ve got him to the hospital now. You’ve had a stressful few days, haven’t you? I hope you remembered change for the vending machines. Smile

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 02:56

Ah no I didn't.
I'm at home waiting anyway. Cant leave the dds

Its my birthday tomorrow as well 🤣

RickiTarr · 30/05/2021 03:00

Oh! Try and nap a bit then. Happy birthday for later!

GeorgeAnneAndTimmytoo · 30/05/2021 03:51

Glad you made the choice to get hone and he is finally being seen. Hoping you get answers and he is feeling better ASAP.

joystir59 · 30/05/2021 05:46

This is why people are going to a&e and I would definitely go to a&e. GPS just aren't on the ball enough.

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 05:51

Well hes on a ward, on a drip with painkillers,
His temp won't come down so he's on medication for that via the drip and he's having an urgent ct scan later and also waiting on blood results.

Apparently his doctor should have sent him.to a and e last week and not fobbed him off.

joystir59 · 30/05/2021 05:51

I hope you are ok OP, it is hard being in your shoes so take care of yourself. Hope op gets answers and feels better soonb

TheQueef · 30/05/2021 06:05

It never rains but it pours.
I bet you're knackered GM are the DD ok? I hope they aren't too disappointed or worried.
Do you have anyone to pop round and give you a hand?

CoffeeRunner · 30/05/2021 06:08

Hope DP gets sorted quickly OP.

Great that his condition is being properly investigated now - awful that it took so long to happen.

AnyOldPrion · 30/05/2021 06:08

Fingers crossed it isn’t cancer. I had a gall bladder infection ten years ago. There was so much inflammation and damage that they advised I should wait eight weeks before having surgery. I was ill throughout and lost more than 10kg (1.5 stones), even though the infection was cleared, so his symptoms don’t necessarily mean there’s anything more sinister going on.

Good luck to both of you.

AnyOldPrion · 30/05/2021 06:09

Forgot to say, I was on holiday too. Truly rotten.

ghostmouse · 30/05/2021 06:13

Anyoldprion
Cancer is my fear too.

I've got a horrible feeling it is if I'm honest.
