Joining as dd1 is starting a girls grammar in sept. Dd1 doesn't care about trends but I want her to be relaxed! Those loafers from next are lovely she will want them.

PhantomErik · 20/05/2021 10:31

DD has these ones as do most of her friends, not all from New Look, some from M&S, Next, Shoezone etc

She's had this style school shoe since yr 6, I just buy bigger sizes as & when needed.

Her PE trainers are basic Nike ones.

The secondary school board on here is great for getting prepared for year 7 by the way Smile

@flashylamp

Yeah: I'm not posting pictures of my child's school shoes for you Hmm

Mine wear trainers or converse to school. You can google that and look at them on a store website.

I didn't mean photos of them wearing them 😆

Dd3 who left secondary last year wore DR Martens school ones as they had the thick sole she needs for a foot issue but many of her friends used their school range too (no yellow stitching)

RevolvingPivot · 20/05/2021 10:34

I've checked the policy it just says black shoes but I've been told by mums of kids that are there that they can wear all black trainers.

I didn't think you did.

Lace up brogues are standard at DDs school.

RevolvingPivot · 20/05/2021 10:37

I think if any she would wear Lace up boots or Nike trainers.

My DD has these, she's in year 8.

Excilente my Dd's friend has dyspraxia but wanted lace ups (to look like everyone else) so her mum bought elastic laces that look completely standard but she can slip her shoes on & off without worrying about tying them up. DD asked for some coz she's lazy lol.

PhantomErik · 20/05/2021 10:41

RevolvingPivot Definately check the website as our school don't allow boots at all.

JeffreyJefferson · 20/05/2021 10:43

most of the people in my kids school wears either black air forces or black leather converse

Seeline · 20/05/2021 10:44

Brogues seem the most popular round here .

tywysoges · 20/05/2021 10:45

DD has a pair of these and a pair of black Chelsea boots.

@Handsoffstrikesagain

flashy what’s wrong with posting a picture of shoes?!
I think it's because there's been trolls with a shoe fetish posting in the past (not saying OP is one btw).
OhForGodsSakeWhatNow · 20/05/2021 10:48

@Zinnia

These are DD's actual shoes (Y8 have PE today so she's wearing trainers!). They are Kickers. To my mind they are black leather trainers, but they comply with the school's fairly stringent shoe policy so we're OK.

I started her in Y7 with what to my mind were really nice chunky brogues from Start Rite (which others of her friends had too) but she begged for the Kickers this year!

These are soooo nice, if that's what kids are begging for then I'm reassured about secondary school!
sotired2 · 20/05/2021 10:51

Our school insist on top of foot been covered by shoe so ballet pumps a no.

Grizalda · 20/05/2021 10:51

My DDs both have the ones in the first picture by BeingATwatItsABingThing
One Dd has them in matte and one dd in patent. It's seems to be a trend that has lasted through the ages!

massistar · 20/05/2021 10:58

Luckily my DD's school allows black leather trainers so she wears Nike AF along with about 75% of her classmates!

Much more supportive than those awful ballet shoes.

RevolvingPivot · 20/05/2021 11:02

It's just quicker than searching individually or clicking links that's all

They’re comfortable and inoffensive. Schools can’t really object to them either.
clipclop5 · 20/05/2021 11:17

The vast majority of girls at DD’s school wear brogues. This seems to be the case right from Y7 up to sixth form.

RevolvingPivot · 20/05/2021 11:32

Thanks all.

@Handsoffstrikesagain

flashy what’s wrong with posting a picture of shoes?!

Photos of shoes? Fine.

Photos of my child's shoes? Not fine.

I only ousted that because someone had posted their child shoes btw.

I wasn’t meaning to suggest anything other than I won’t post pictures of my child’s shoes* on an open forum where anybody can see them. Surely that’s common sense?*

Absolutely it accusing OP of being a troll, simply pointing out that anyone can see what we post

RevolvingPivot · 20/05/2021 12:03

One person has posted a photo of their child's actual shoes. Their kid isn't wearing them. There are loads of used shoes on eBay.

I just wanted an idea of what year 7s wear. Shoes don't turn me on. Especially used ones and those that belong kids!!
